Butter London November 2018 - Smoke Stick 4

Butter London Smoke Stick in Night Shift, Full-Size! Retail Value $20 (found here for $14)

This double-sided eyeshadow stick is handy for creating a quick smoky eye- you have a matte black stick on one end and a light shimmery gold stick on the other. Contrary to what the description says I didn’t find the matte shade to be very blendable, but the color is definitely pigmented. The shimmery gold blended well and I love all things shimmery and gold so it is a perfect fit for me.

Butter London November 2018 - Up All Night 1

Butter London November 2018 - Up All Night 2

Butter London Up All Night Eyeshadow Duo, Full-Size! Retail Value $15

This is literally the same exact product only in a mini eyeshadow palette rather than a stick… I mean there are a few differences, but Butter London really could have added a little more variety here. The gold shimmer shade is a little less yellow, and the matte black shade is less pigmented.

Butter London November 2018 - Shadow Swatches

Here it is swatched below the smoke stick shades.

Butter London November 2018 - Brush 2

Butter London Shadow Brush

Butter London Crease Brush

I can't find Butter London makeup brushes anywhere online- not on the brand's website and not on other retailers. Not even on eBay! Butter London actually just acquired Pur Cosmetics, and I am wondering if these brushes are going to be released soon now that the two companies are managed under one parent. That being said, I was happy with how these brushes performed. I like the weight that is in the handle of the brushes because they don't feel cheap, and the bristles are soft and blend eyeshadow well.

Butter London November 2018 - Return Ticket

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Return Ticket, 0.2 oz – Estimated Value $7.50 based on the value of other shades.

I love this shade - I think it is a gorgeous rose gold shimmer. What I don’t love is that I cannot find information on this shade ANYWHERE. It either was released so long ago the internet has forgotten about it, or it hasn’t been released at all yet. The mystery continues.

Butter London November 2018 - Pash

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Pash, 0.2 oz – Estimated Value $7.50 based on the value of other shades.

This is another shade that was hard to find online, though not impossible. From this blog, it looks like Pash was a part of the 2015 Holiday set. If this is from the same batch as the 2015 release, you wouldn’t know it by my bottle—the formula was perfect and applied effortlessly. This pretty metallic magenta reminds me of Christmas ornaments!

Butter London November 2018 - Come To Bed Red

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Come to Bed Red, 0.2 oz – Estimated Value $7.50 (buy the full-size version for $15)

Come to Bed Red is a classic Butter London red crème polish. It applies smoothly and is a great holiday red.

Butter London November 2018 - Nail Swatch

Since the description of the mystery bag said we would receive polishes that can make a holiday look, here is my attempt at holiday nail art. I sponged Return Ticket at the base of each nail for a little sparkly ombre look. I think Pash and Come to Bed Red clash when worn together, but I think each shade pairs beautifully with Return Ticket.

Butter London November 2018 - Scrubbers

Butter London Nail Scrubbers, 4 – Estimated Value $4 (buy a box of 10 for $10)

I love pre-moistened nail polish removing wipes like these. They make removing nail polish so convenient and easy, and I don’t have to search my apartment trying to remember where I put the cotton balls. I don’t think these quite live up to the claim that one wipe will remove all 10 nails, but these are handy to have around.

The Verdict: This holiday bundle was a little strange considering Butter London doesn’t currently sell makeup brushes and I can’t find information on the shade Return Ticket anywhere. I also am a little frustrated that both eyeshadow products are essentially the same colors, and that we didn’t receive full-size bottles of nail polish. That being said, however, the value is definitely there. Not including the cost of the brushes (which were high quality), I calculated a value of $61.50, which is just about double the cost of the box plus shipping. That being said, I don’t think this box quite meets the promised value of $109.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, unfortunately, this mystery box is now sold out.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $31.99 ($25 + $6.99 shipping) which means you are paying $4 per item (counting the nail scrubbers as one).

I ordered this mystery bundle plus three lip crayons that were on sale for 50% off. Because I spent over $50 I qualified for free shipping and their free bonus gift which ended up being a decent value for $55 total. The bonus gift included two additional mini polishes, a mini lip gloss and mascara. The $109 value seems like a stretch, unless they value their brushes at around $25 each, but all in all I’m happy with it.

I bought this and didn’t realize it was so far below the promised value; that’s not good. However, I did get two for the price of one on their BOGO deal, and also bought a set of glazen eyeshadows which I love. Also, I found out that I prefer their formula to Julep’s.

Return Ticket was in their $150 Holiday 2016 collection The Most Wonderful of All Nail Laquer along with Pash and Come to Bed Red.

The polishes being not full sized and the same colors for both shadow stick and shadow double is SUPER disappointing. Glad I passed.

Donna

I got a totally different bag. I got another of the same one from September with 2 nail polishes, a glazen eyeshadow gloss, a lipstick (all full sized), nail scrubbies and a nail file.
