Each box comes with a booklet detailing the items included, and a letter from Lisa Sugar:

And POPSUGAR also included a card with coupons for the brands featured in the box:

Now, on to the items!

Uncommon James 100 Percent Handmade Cotton Fringe Throw – Retail Value $118

Great to know:

The piece was made in partnership with Tribe Alive, a company whose mission is to promote female artisans, ensure they’re paid living wages, and provide safe work environments for them.

This creamy white throw blanket has tassels on the ends, and fringe accents throughout. It’s giving me Anthropologie vibes and I love it!

Here I am holding it up to give you a better sense of scale:

It measures 65 x 50 inches (fringe included). It’s 100% cotton, and dry clean only. (FYI – we put it in the dryer on the refresh setting – 15 minutes steam, and it came out perfectly.)

It’s large enough to cuddle up with on the couch or to accent your bed:

(Shown on a queen size bed.)

The weight of the fabric isn’t too heavy/thick, but it’s substantial enough to give you warmth. I’d say it’s about a medium weight.

Melinda Maria Designs Sabrina Pod Necklace – Retail Value $98

For this item, subscribers could pick between an 18k gold-plated or sterling-silver plated version.

Here it is on:

And looped around twice:

And here’s the silver version on, too:

I think this would look lovely layered with a few other necklaces, too! And I really love that POPSUGAR is letting subscribers customize their metal choice with jewelry – I know most people are usually team gold or team silver, so it’s great that this piece isn’t one color fits all!

Winky Lux Sugar Palette – Retail Value $25

This palette has a gorgeous sparkly cover:

The shades include matte, shimmer, metallic, and glitter:

Here is a closer look:

And the pigment is amazing! Here are all the shades swatched:

The Sugar Cookie shade can double as a highlighter, and the Gummy Bear shade also works great as a blush! (Check out Marne’s daytime/nighttime look tutorial for this palette to get more ideas!)

Apotheke Tobacco Blossom Scented Candle – Retail Value $36

One item I’m always happy to see in a subscription box? A candle! (And this feels extra appropriate for a white winter cozy theme!)

This large candle (11 ounces) has a burn time of 60-70 hours. The tobacco blossom scent has notes of cognac, anise, and vanilla. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have picked out a Tobacco Blossom scent if I was browsing candles online, but this was a pleasant surprise – it’s subtle and sweet!

And I love the frosted glass vessel – so simple and pretty.

Just like the blanket, I think this should work with any decor!

Kate Spade 2019 Desktop Calendar – Retail Value $20

First, how lovely is this packaging?! I love when Winter/December boxes include items that are perfect gifting!

But I think most subscribers will want to keep this for themselves because – how sweet is this design?

It has the classic Kate Spade polka dots, too!

The calendar features gold metal pegs and the cream cards are highlighted with gold foil.

On the back of each month is a card is a word with a definition.

It’s such a stylish piece –  I love it! And POPSUGAR included a note about remembering Kate Spade, too:

Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon – Retail Value $35

This book is big! 304 pages, hardcover, and I think it would make a perfect hostess gift if you don’t want to keep it to yourself!

The pictures are gorgeous, and it’s a mix of a memoir (perfect for Reese fans), an etiquette guide, and a cookbook. (There are meal-themed recipes throughout.)

Check out my full review of this book if you want a more in-depth take!

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Eye Masks – Retail Value $25

I’ve sampled these before and they are great! They are super gentle and soothing, plus they are ingredient-conscious! (Paraben-free, Phthalate-free, Synthetic fragrance-free, and cruelty-free!)

They come in a plastic disc to help keep things as non-messy as possible:

And they are gold! I put them on for 10 minutes, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well they stayed in place. The formula has a faint (natural) lavender scent and is designed to help with hydration and diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Now, time for the Special Extras in the box! (If you aren’t familiar, these are extra items that don’t count toward the value of the box. AKA bonus freebies!)

Ellia Jet Lag Travel Support Roll-On – Retail Value $14.99

What a perfect inclusion for the holiday-travel season!

This is my favorite special extra in the box – it’s made with natural essential oils and the scent includes all my favorites: orange, peppermint, and lemongrass!

Ellia recommends using it any time you need to wake up and feel energized – just roll it on pulse points, temples, the back of your neck, or the soles of your feet.

Estee Lauder Beautiful Belle Eau de Parfum Rollerball – Retail Value $28

This is a brand new scent from Estee Lauder. The fragrance is a blend of Lychee, Mimosa, Rose Petals, Orange Flower, Gardenia, and Marzipan Musk.

Personally, I’m not a big perfume wearer, and this floral scent isn’t for me, but it’s a bonus item so that’s fine! Plus it’s a full-size rollerball – great for gifting or a stocking stuffer!

Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops – Value $12

I feel like redness-reducing eyedrops are having a beauty moment, and these definitely helped make my eyes pop a bit more – especially with mascara and eyeliner. Once in a while, I’ll wake up to one or both eyes looking a little bloodshot, so this is a welcome addition to my beauty bag!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $412 counting the special extras! Amazing! I am really impressed with this box – it includes 4 home items, 2 beauty items, and 1 fashion item – a perfect mix for a holiday season box in my opinion. (I think the blanket alone is worth the $75 box cost.) And I love that just about everything in this box can be gifted, too. If you’re looking to grab a few holiday gifts and keep a few items for yourself, I think the value here is amazing.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  Yes. When you click “Subscribe Now” on the POPSUGAR site, the box your subscription will start with will be highlighted.

  1. I received my box & I love it, except for the candle. It smells terrible. Like cigarettes. I quit over a year ago & that is the last thing that I would want my house to smell like. Any other scent would’ve been better than this. So disappointed. It’s such a pretty vessel & it’s big.

    • Really? I thought the candle didn’t smell anything like cigarettes, it was kind of sweet almost (and from my research, it shouldn’t smell like cigarettes to begin with as this is tobacco blossom, not smoked tobacco used in cigarettes). Funny how everyone’s take on scents differ so much! 🙂

      • The tobacco scent is very very faint and I can’t smell it at all until the candle has been burnng for an hour or so. It’s so interesting how people smell different things!

    • I agree that this candle smells like cigarettes. (I’m also a former smoker). I burned it for an hour and my house smelled like a cigar club. lol. This was my first PS and I was sad that everything in the box was pretty much a total miss for me. I’ve got almost everything up for swap on the swap site if anyone is interested. I kept the perfume and the candle and I might keep the throw – but we have dogs (and so does everyone I know) so a white throw isn’t very practical for us.

    • Candle smells like vanilla to me, no cigarette scent whatsoever (and I’m *highly* sensitive to cigarette odor).

    • I love the smell of the candle, but if you don’t, and you like the vessel. You could probably put the vessel in the freezer for a bit, and the candle should slide out. Then, you can use the vessel for something else. 🙂

      • That’s a great idea. I’m going to try that right now. I have a short pillar candle that I love the scent of. Maybe I can swap out the candle.

  2. My take on this box, just received it yesterday:

Throw: I appreciate it’s 100% cotton, but I have more than enough throw so will be gifted
Necklace: Not my style AT ALL, or anyone I know’s
Book: Meh. Don’t love it, don’t hate it
Palette: Don’t really wear makeup, so not too impressed with this – will probably be gifted as well
Candle: Wasn’t sure about tobacco scents, but I really do love it! Win!
Calendar: Cute, I’ll gladly display it on my desk
Wander Beauty: I’m actually planning a spa night with my mom and sister, so these will be perfect
Special extras: LOVE the extras this quarter! I love the scent of the travel roll-on, the Estee Lauder rollerball is a great addition (fun to try out a brand new scent and as Liz said, great stocking stuffer as well) and the Lumify drops are very useful as I tend to get bloodshot eyes way too often!

All in all, a solid box 🙂

  3. I’m willing to sell my eyeshadow palette, necklace (in gold) and book if anyone’s interested!

    • I’m interested in the palette though I haven’t traded/exchanged money 😉 here before. Let me know!

  4. Funnily enough, I like the non-spoiled items a LOT more than the spoiled items – will definitely be grabbing it if there’s a BTBF deal!

  5. I got the box by mistake! If anyone wants any of the items, let me know I’m down to sell them!

    • Michelle,
Would you be willing to sell me the Kate Spade calendar? Let me know- I can pay by paypal
      Thanks
      Shannon

      • I accidentally ordered two boxes. Willing to sell (at cost + shipping) full box or anything it. Just let me know.

        • Did you sell your extra box? I am interested. Thanks! Heidi

        • Hi Kat G! I’m looking for the rollerball perfume at a reasonable price…I’m out of perfume and on a tight budget so I’m hoping to restock my perfume via sub boxes. Please email me at melconnors04 at yahoo dot com

        • Kat. Would love to purchase your box. Kathleen dot Nunn at gmail dot com

    • Michelle: I’d be interested in the throw, the calendar and the rollerball. How much would you want for these? ( if you still have them. )

      • Hey @memecindy27

I’d definitely be down to sell them to you, and I still have them. I’m not sure how to go about doing it, but I think maybe like 70 for the bunch plus shipping? IDK, lmk if that sounds okay, I’m not sure how to do this properly (I looked at other RV stuff and how other people were pricing things to come up with that number, but if you think it’s unreasonable let me know!

  6. I really want the throw if anyone willing to sell or trade for it! I have lots of goodies and PP ready! <3

I'm supposed to get a follow to this post so pls comment me!

    • I’ll be willing to sell my throw for $35, shipping included 🙂

      • Hey im interested! Is it still available?

    • Hey Rachel! I got the box on accident (forgot to un-subscribe and they shipped/billed me before I realized it). I’d be down to sell you the throw if you’re interested! I’m not sure how to do that, tho! LMK

  7. I just saw the neiman marcus clutch on how to get away with murder episode from this past Thursday

    • I saw that too, she had the black one!

  8. Got my shipping notice yesterday!! Excited lol!! Its like early Christmas morning around here when the boxes come in.

  9. I want this box just for the throw, I love the fringe and the book. I will gift or swap the remaining items

    • Trish
I would love to buy the Kate Spade Calendar and eyeshadow pallette if you still have them
      I can PayPal you 😊
I can gift you the money so you don’t have to pay any fees
      Just let me know
      Thanks!
      Shannon 💌💙

      • Hey Shannon,
I would love to sell my calendar and pallette if you are interested.
        – Misti

      • Shannon, I haven’t received it yet, but I’ll keep you posted

    • Hi Trish,
If you’re interested in selling the rollerball perfume, please let me know! I’m interested in that. Melconnors04 At Yahoo dot Com

  10. Hmmm.. I’m a little torn on this one…

I’m in box limbo because I got a new debit card number and haven’t updated my billing yet… I think the only things I would want are the blanket and the candle – not sure if that’s reason enough to go for it, or I might just try to figure out these swaps everyone is always commenting about!!

    • I’d be careful about waiting on that! I’ve had subscription services “contact my bank” to get the new card number and just charge me anyways. Apparently, that is legal, and I couldn’t contest the charges (even though I went to my bank and told them I never approved the charge).

This was through BofA, but the person I spoke to at the bank said all major banks will provide a new credit card number to a business that has been billed previously (or something like that) >:(

  11. Ok, Lisa Sugar, you got me. Trigger pulled. Tomorrow is payday anyway….

  12. Is there a way to do this as a one time gift box, for someone? I used to do that all the time with the ole PopSugar boxes but don’t see that option this time, only a subscription. Am I missing something?

  13. I cant believe I have still never tried this box. I’m always scared because sometimes I love the review and sometimes I think NO WAY! Remember when they sent out that crazy hat? Wow.. anyway I was torn this time whether to get Fab Fit or this one. I kindof wish I had gotten this one because it is really nice. But that book… I kindof like it but after reading your review I know I would have thumbed through it and never picked it up again.. I guess I made the right choice. Fab Fit never lets me down because you get so much. But its almost so much of the same stuff over and over… so Im just not sure. My fat cat Pusheen never lets me down. LOL

  14. I’m so excited about the book, honestly. I bought it on audible before I realized it wasn’t a memoir and it’s probably kind of hard to listen to (I haven’t yet) because of the recipes and such. I found a deal that allowed me to get this box for around $35 and I jumped all over it!

    • Christina, please share how you got the box for $35

      • I would also love to know how you got the box for $35! I would def buy it for that price 🙂

    • “Christina, please share how you got the box for $35”

      Yes, please!

  15. I’m actually really excited to get this box. I love all the items!

  16. I just freed up a spot for someone. This box is absolutely not in anyway meant for me. It’s the eye gels. I mean, how many eye gels can a girl use 😭😭😭😭

    • Lol nevermind. I was charged and am still getting this box 😭😐

      • If you don’t do trades, then I fully recommend regifting the pieces. The eyegels, perfume and calendar would make an awesome gift set to someone. And put together the blanket and candle, then the necklace and palette. Three people GIFTED!

      • Hi there, I’d love to have the throw if you were interested in selling or trading!

      • Hi there, I’d love to have the throw if you were interested in selling or trading! I have lots of goodies and PP ready!

      • Let me know if you plan to sell the throw 🙂

      • I’m interested in the palette if you decide to trade or sell.

        • I have the palette if you want to trade or sell.

    • I will take all the eye gels I can get! LOL.

      • I can swap!

    • Girl I have enough face goop and eye shadow palettes to open my own Sephora!!!. IM. NOT. KIDDING… My family and friends are gonna be kissing my ass with the (re) gifts this year!!

    • I’d love the throw if you’re interested in sell or swap! PP ready & have lots of goodies!

      Pls just let me know!!

  17. Got one 🙂 the blanked, the calendar, the perfume <3… wasn't sure about this box at first, but at the end of it all – well done!

  18. Any idea which sub boxes typically offer Black Friday deals??? I need to figure out a budget ASAP…..& then I need to find the willpower to actually stick to it!! I like to buy all the things!!

    • look here tomm, Monday, Liz is doing a better than BF and all brands are posted

  19. Do they ship to Canada?

  20. Well done, Popsugar!

    • agree, now to wait for BF deal or buy now?!? EEK!

  21. It’s funny that I am swapping all the spoiler items and will be keeping the rest. At least I got a head start on the swaps. 🙂

    • I’d love the throw if you’re interested in sell or swap! PP ready & have lots of goodies!

      Pls just let me know!!

  22. Any idea if they normally do a Black Friday offer?

I want to order this box, but I’m happy to wait if they’re going to do a special offer/sale! Thanks!

    • I’m hoping to snag a discount too. I don’t love this box, but I do certainly like it. I’m a candle and perfume junky. I also really really love that blanket.

    • I would buy ASAP as this boxis going to sell out fast. There’s no need to discount it. It’s a very good box a lot of us in the addiction club are snagging one or two.

      • If you use her code, you are already getting $20 and that’s a discount.

      • What’s the club?

    • yes, they usually do BF deals, i’m waiting!

  23. I swapped for the eye drops two weeks ago now I have a back up!

  24. Holy crap. I think i’ll be able to use almost everything! So happy!!!

  25. I literally finished reading this review, heard a loud thud on my front porch, and opened the door to see my PSMH boxes had been delivered. So very heavy.
It’s an awesome box- the book is lovely & includes some great recipes, the candle, aromatherapy roll-on & the perfume all smell great, the blanket is beautiful & so soft, and the necklace & calendar are adorable.
I actually miss their inclusion of an edible item, but in all, a fantastic box

    • The Fedex app says it is over 10lbs! Can’t wait to get mine.

    • Yeah, really wish there was an edible – but a good box nonetheless!

  26. I would, but it’s two days till BTBF; I can hardly wait!

  27. LOVE LOVE this box!!! Trying to figure out if I need a second one for gifts …..

  28. This looks so much better then FFF, I wonder if they’ll have a Black Friday special. I might wait and see. I like everything except the book and necklace.

  29. Very nice box. I would have been happy with it, but I’m also happy with my choice of Happy Rebel and BoS this season. i have to say, the “extras” for both the fall and winter PS box were really, really good. No filler there.

    • I totally agree about the extras – a full-size Estee Lauder rollerball as an extra?! Yes please!

  30. When does this box ship? Will it be delievered I think one to use as Christmas gifts?

    • My shipping label has been created so winter boxes should shipping by next week.

  31. Oh, man, this is such a fabulous box! I’ll wash the throw in the machine, no big deal. The necklace and the calendar go to my daughter. I love the book. The candle is lovely, though a bit too simple design-wise. The palette and eye masks will be either sold or gifted. As for the roller ball – I am so excited! I do wish it was a miniature bottle, but still amazing. The essential oil roller might come handy. Eye drops are the only useless item to me. They can only be given away, not sure about selling them.

Honestly, this box is my second favorite after Margot Elena. FFF was a total failure this season for me. I adore Popsugar. I only wish they had different designs or colors for their boxes…

  32. I’m pretty excited about the candle and the Estee Lauder perfume! I hope the musk isn’t strong because musk pretty much never works for me in perfumes. It sounds like the eye patches might be with lavender though, which means I will have to gift or swap them – so sad because I love eye masks! The essential oil perk up roller might be good to take in my labor/hospital bag – last time around I took a lemon roller ball and it was wonderful to have to just hold and breathe in during contractions.

    • Thank you for the great idea for the essential oil roller ball! I’m giving birth in March, so I’ll put it in my hospital bag! Congratulations to you!

      • Congrats to you as well! My hospital bag is going to have lots of sub box items this time around, lol – I picked up the Pusheen box so the robe/toothbrush/stress ball is coming with me, and the Pusheen in robe plushie will go to my toddler when I’m in the hospital. And of course eye cream! I have so many samples to get through, but the Context Vit C eye cream from Ipsy is still my favorite (bought more off Ebay) – was great last time I gave birth to put on in the morning to help with the dark circles and puffiness.

  33. Wasn’t planning on signing up for this one until I saw the candle, calendar, and perfume and I love Reese so I was curious about the book. For $55 with the coupon it’s well worth it! Thanks for the code!

    • Was wondering when in checkout you add the code? I got to add card and was wondering is it on review page?

  34. This looks like a nice box. My dogs sleep on the bed, so that throw would have to be gifted.

  35. I love this box! Popsugar is one of my favorites and (for me) they just do not disappoint 😍

  36. I did not order this box but if I had I wouldn’t be disappointed as it’s a great value. It’s my first time not getting a PS box in years and that makes me a little sad but not sad enough to buy it. 🙂

  37. I want the throw and the book but the throw really doesn’t match my decor.

Might just use the money to find couple items I need at the Maxx.

  38. An “etiquette guide” from Reese? Is there a chapter titled “How Not to Talk to a Police Officer When You’ve Had Too Many Teacups”?

    • I remember that now that you mention it.

      🤣🤣🤣

    • How long has she been a celebrity and how many times has she been involved in a scandal? We all made mistakes when we had one too many. The only thing is that she is under public scrutiny all the time while we can just deactivate our social media for a bit.

      • She is pretty freaking wealthy! The bad thing is to have no reaction or news. She chose to be a pubic figure and you just have to roll with it.

  39. Did you line dry it or did you put it into the dryer?

I don’t mind a dry clean only throw but still would prefer one that could be hand washed.

    • It’s cotton so you should definitely be able to put it in the washer/dryer, or hand wash if you prefer. Lots of people put laundry tips under the post where it was first spoiled, and you can also google. Basically the big things are going to be a delicate wash, and not to ‘overdry it’ so the fibers don’t degrade – you’ll want to take it out when almost dry and finish it by laying flat or over a line or even an air fluff cycle in the dryer.

    • I have a dry clean only throw that I wash on the hand wash/wool cycle and hang to dry then toss in the dryer on air fluff and it works fine. I’ll definitely be washing this one the same way.

  40. I am SO, SO excited that I purchased this! I jumped it on after the blanket spoiler and everything else since then has been an added bonus. I will use every single item in this box!

    • Yay!! 🎉

  41. Wow! I am so glad I got this box! I will use it all including the book which isn’t all about cooking after all.

PS has a way of covertly giving spoilers. Just today I got their newsletter talking about travel masks and recommending the Wander Beauty eye masks.

The Must Have boxes just keep getting better and better! I hope this box ships soon!

Now I can’t wait to see what else is in the Neiman Marcus box!

  42. It’s definitely a good value, but I’m not sure I’d use it enough to justify buying the box. Plus I’m afraid to get a white throw you need to dry clean. That would be super expensive as I like to wash my throws periodically. I wonder how it would turn out in the wash on delicate, not just refreshing, but actually washing it? I just washed a ‘hand wash only’ throw on delicate and it shrunk a lot so I’d be nervous about washing this one.

    • Did you line dry it or did you put it into the dryer?

I don’t mind a dry clean only throw but still would prefer one that could be hand washed.

      • I washed it on cold, delicate cycle with Woolite, then lined dry. Shrunk a lot.

    • I’m with you. I only want the candle and calendar (sort of) from the main subscription, and the special extras. Glad I didn’t purchase this one!

  43. All stuff I will use ❤.

Only the Wander eye masks are a brand I have seen many times in many boxes, but I love and hoard all eye patches, so I am good with it.

  44. Nice well rounded cozy box! But where’s the snack?! I always love Popsugar’s snack items.

    • I think you have to make your own snacks this time. That’s why they included the book with recipes!

      • 😂 Good point!

    • I know I thought the same thing 🙁☹️

  45. I’m so glad I ordered this one!!! Very nice mix! I’m looking forward to the candle! I think the extras are amazing as well!

  46. I have been waiting for this review! It’s my first PS box and I know I made the right choice. The Wander Beauty eye masks are great and I already use them and I am almost out of my Lumify eye drops so this is perfect timing. I originally signed up for the blanket and the book so for $55 I definitely feel like I am getting a great deal!

  47. Really excited for this box! But a “Tobacco” scented candle? This weirds me out. I hate the smell of cigarettes. Does this really smell like tobacco? I can’t imagine why anyone would make a candle that smells like that.

    • No, I think the scent is sweet and it also isn’t very strong. The first note I detected was vanilla. Hope that helps clarify! (Does not smell like cigarettes AT ALL!) 🙂

      • Thanks, Liz! Vanilla, I can definitely get on board with. 😉

    • If I am not mistaken there is a Tobacco flower. Could be wrong.

      • Yup – it is called Nicotiana – smells divine. Also known as night-scented tobacco.

    • Yeah it’s be scent is the blossom, not the toasted leaf you get with cigarettes.

    • Cigarettes don’t smell like tobacco. Cigars smell like tobacco.

    • Tobacco plants, and even roasted tobacco, smell way different and WAY better than tobacco being smoked, or the stale post cigarette smell. I used to stock cigarettes at a grocery store and loved the smell of them through the boxes even though I can’t stand the smell of the smoke.

  48. I wonder when shipping begins? I can’t wait to see that blanket/throw in person! It is very cold today.

    • My shipping label was just created, so.. soon!

  49. I’m even more excited for this box now! I adore those eye masks, so I can’t wait to get a whole box of them. The Kate Spade calendar is so cute. I’d love to keep it, but it would also fit well with my SIL’s gifts. Dilemma. 🤔

  50. I’m so happy I ordered this. I cannot wait to get it. That candle sounds amazing!!
