Let's dig in!

Fall Tea Towel

This tea towel is cute, but its super thin and a strange choice in materials for a towel. I think it will be much more functional as a decorative piece or maybe a cute towel for fresh bread to be wrapped in.

Meridian Point Photo Clip LED String Lights - Estimated Value $11.99

I couldn't find this exact product, but I did find something similar here. I think these lights are cute and I plan on using them to display our Christmas cards this season as they arrive. I appreciate that they are a warmer LED color and they are also battery powered. The clips will make it pretty versatile for hanging around the house!

Nubian Heritage Goat's Milk and Chai Soap, 5 oz. - Retail Value $4.99

This soap has a scent so strong I could smell it outside the box! I didn't know it wasn't a perfume or essential oil blend until I opened the box and saw it was a bar soap. The smell is much more floral than chai, which I appreciated because I am not a chai fan. The formula was really moisturizing and left me feeling clean and smelling great!

Lindt Hello Chocolate Sticks, 1.4 oz. - Buy a pack of 24 for $23.78

I am not generally a huge Lindt fan because I find their fillings just over the top sweet. These two sticks were no exception, although my husband enjoyed them. The strawberry cream cheese option was his favorite because he likes berries and the filling inside this one was very much strawberry favored. He also liked the chocolate brownie,  which was much less sweet and had a slightly crunchy texture blended with the caramel.

Verdict: Peaches and Petals was super random this month. This is my first month with this subscription and I find myself confused as to the really strange assortment of products. I feel like this sub would really benefit from a monthly theme that was explained. It contained four items for $19.99, making them each cost $5.00 a piece, which isn't the greatest value when you consider one of the items was chocolate and I am not quite sure how to value the tea towel. I really do love the soap though! I could absolutely see this subscription being your jam if you love a TRULY random surprise box coming in the mail. I am hoping that next month may be a little more exciting.

I got this box once and was so disappointed I cancelled immediately. Everything is cheap and seeing this month hasn’t changed my mind one bit.

Side note: those tea towels as my grandma called them, were all she ever had in the kitchen. They would embroiderer on them and I hated having to dry dishes because they would be soaking wet instantly.

This is a downright embarrassing, worthless, pointless, directionless cheap joke of a sub. Please, don’t waste anymore braincells reviewing this sub. That was as kind as I could be.

Those brown spots on the soap really creeped me out a bit. Back like 2 years ago this box was better cool but now its so not worth it at all for me anyway.

If you click the link and go to the manufacturer’s site, the soap is supposed to look like that.

Beth, you’re not the only one. The soap looks like it’s rotting, ew. I’d have tossed it.
Megan, you’re more brave then I, for trying it. I’m glad to hear it wasn’t gross.
I wouldn’t pay $5 for any of the above.

They are rose petals, obviously. I make aritsan soap and i use calendula petals, rose, chamomile flowers, raspberry seeds, the like. As far as a mass produced soap goes, its not a bad looking bar!

Megan K.

At first, I was kind of startled by them too, but I think they are rose petal pieces?

Unilever recently bought out Nubian Heritage and Shea moisture. As such, they can no longer truly be considered a CF brand. Unilever has a VERY destructive past with regards to their care of the planet, rather lack of care. This box really isn’t worth the price point at all, in my opinion.

This is really good info to know! I will have to research this further for sure. Thanks for the heads up!

SquirrelyGirl

Sure thing! I used to LOVE both Nubian and Shea Moisture. It’s such a bummer when a big conglomerate buys out the little guys :/

Becky

FWIW – the towel looks like a flour sack dish towel not a tea towel. I pretty much exclusively use flour sack towels because they’re surface area is so much larger and they dry pretty quick. The bigger the flour sack towel I can find the better!

(Anyone else think the word “towel” has lost all meaning?! Lol jk)

Megan K.

Interesting! I am glad to know there is a specific term for this type of ‘towel’. Thanks for the info Becky!

Becky

No problem!

(Also from above, I meant “their” not “they’re”. Lol I hate making silly spelling errors.)

Yurena

Simply not worth it. Just the soap bar is lovely, the rest meh.

It smells AHH-MAZING.

its strange that you still get this for review purposes as they stopped doing that for all of the other influensters back in august, citing that they are putting the money towards the box

it looks like they didnt achieve that goal

I have noticed a difference in the Peaches and Petals boxes and the contents over the past several months. The boxes used to come in a large bright box and the size of the box has really sized down and the value in my opinion has really declined. Possibly it is me, but I have been a subscriber for years because this was consiered a great box of value for the monthly fee and one of MSA’s favorite value boxes.

Megan K.

This was my first time reviewing this box for MSA but I know it can vary greatly! One of the most fun parts about subscription boxes is the surprise factor so I am looking forward to next month for sure.

I realize this is a much lower price point than most of the lifestyle boxes and I can appreciate that. But that “tea towel” looks like something from a dollar store at best.

oh wow this is terrible

I like this. And I think this brand is sold at Anthropologie so if I can find $50 worth of product I have a $10 coupon I can use. Of course they may not have the Sub box in store but certainly affordable and I do like my scented soaps. Ingredient conscious of course.
