World of Drag November 2018 Review

Almost immediately after launching World of Drag (that started as a quarterly box) this past Summer, they announced they were going monthly starting in October. The first monthly shipment had a delay, and November came only a week or two later so it seems like they may be on track now.

Instead of 6-8 items that came in the quarterly box, they decided to simplify it and include a shirt, enamel pin, and mystery item each month. It sounds like most of the items will be exclusive to the box as well. Let's see what we got!

This month actually came with an info card. Yay! Hopefully, this will be the usual moving forward. It has photos of the three items included with a short description.

"Charisma & Uniqueness & Nerve & Talent" T-Shirt, size medium

Okay, I know I threw shade at the whole t-shirt thing in the last review, but I really like this one! This tee design has been copied many times with various bands and fandoms, so I am already familiar with it and own one that references a band from the 90s. Here, we have the acronym we became familiar with in October's delivery emblazoned on a shirt to make that much more obvious. These four qualities are what Ru looks for when she's judging the Queens on Drag Race and they just so happen to spell a word down the left side when put together. Mmmhmm. While I'm not sure I have the guts to wear this out in the wild, I may be wearing it around the house because it fits well and is quite comfy and soft. Probably not the office through any time soon. 🙂 I think I do have all of these qualities though, to be fair.

"Corny the Unicorn" Enamel Pin

The enamel pin this month features the character "Corny the Unicorn" from the animated show produced by World of Wonder called "Drag Tots". Corny may only be a head but is voiced by RuPaul herself and teaches the tots many lessons from her mounted plaque, all while looking fabulous in pastel tresses and a pink bow.

Trinity "The Tuck" Taylor Tuck Tape

The final third mystery item this month is Trinity Taylor-branded tuck tape! Now, if you're not familiar with why this is an important item for Drag Queens, just remember that they have parts that they need to tape back in order to give that ultra-fishy appearance when wearing leotards, dresses, and other tight garments. This tape is bright yellow and while I don't personally have a use for it, it can double as heavy duty duct-tape. This is REALLY sticky and will certainly hold back any bundles securely. If you need more info and tips- Trinity has made this video (may not be safe to watch at work) to help!

Verdict: I enjoyed November's World of Drag items a little more than October's since I love the pastel Corny pin and prefer this tee to the last. Still interested to see where this can go. $23.00 for three items isn't too bad as long as you're a superfan of the Drag Race and the spin-offs and wear t-shirts.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It looks like they are still offering November, but reach out to customer service if you want to know for sure before ordering.

Value Breakdown: At $23.00 ($19.00 + $4.00 shipping) for this subscription, you're paying $7.67 per item.

I get why that tape is Trinity branded, but I’d be pissed to receive duct tape in a box. This new format is pretty disappointing :/

I’m still not loving the new format, and I hope they don’t do t-shirts every month. I loved the first box, and these last 2 were so disappointing. Bummer.

Me neither. I was planning on getting the quarterly box but this?

Maybe if they do other types of products. This is so boring 🙁

I could use the tuck-tape like a wax strip.
