NewBeauty TestTube is a bi-monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Every other month they send you a tube full of deluxe and full-size beauty samples and you also get a digital subscription to New Beauty Magazine. It’s a little pricier than other beauty subscriptions, but in general, the value is usually great.

Our November 2018 Review
The NewBeauty TestTube has recently been reimagined after tons of hard work and careful attention to customer feedback. You have to appreciate a company that listens to and values customer input enough to evolve and change for the better! It is obvious that this revamp was a labor of love by the New Beauty Team. I absolutely love the new tube design. It is so pretty! I was also tickled that although the sub now comes with that bangin' new tube, the goodies included this month were far too numerous to fit so they had to send it in a large box. That is exciting!
Now, on to the items!
Mini Valerian & Hops Mineral Bath Salts, 2.1 oz- Retail Value $4.00 (found here for $2.00)
I like salt soaks but usually find them underwhelming. Compared to some of those crazy glitter filled bath bombs they are downright old school! I passed the one to my husband after he had a particularly strenuous day at work. He really liked the scent and found the combination of the salts and a hot bath very relaxing.

Daily Concepts Daily Body Scrubber - Retail Value $10
While I always give my face the celebrity treatment, I am terrible about exfoliating my body. I get eczema on my calves so I am always really nervous about agitating the spots when they appear. This scrubber was more gentle feeling than others I have tried, but I don't think I will be using it on my legs. The spongy center helps create a nice lather with your favorite soap or body wash and I love that the little tag fades when it is time to replace.
Kneipp Night Cream, 1.0 fl oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $33
Another new brand for me this month! Immediately I love that it is plant based, lacks harmful ingredients like paraffin and silicon, and the company doesn't test on our furry friends. The texture is silky and it has a scent that is botanical and light. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that it does tend to pill if you over-rub it into your skin. This does matter much less because it is a night cream.
Supersmile Quikee, 0.17 oz.- FULL SIZE! Retail Value $18
This might have been the only product this month that I wasn't super excited about and found minimally effective. Admittedly, I am never super thrilled to get teeth related products in my subscriptions. I did try this product and didn't notice a difference in tooth whitening, although my teeth aren't very yellow. This little tube has approximately 30 uses.
Glytone Enhance Brightening Complex, 1 oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $74
This little bottle has some super power ingredients. I have recently been doing tons of research on acids and I find them really interesting. The two ingredients that deserve the most attention in this formula are Azelaic Acid and Glycolic Acid. Azelaic Acid is super helpful for minimizing those pesky acne and blemish scars. Its friend Glycolic Acid is an incredible exfoliant, so after extended use, you will notice your skin looking brighter and feeling smoother. This formula is fragrance-free and absorbed quickly into my skin. As with any AHA products, be extra mindful of sun exposure!
Briogeo Rosarco Leave-In Conditioning Spray, 5 oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $20
This leave-in conditioner is super light, which is a win for me. I really dislike the heavier leave-ins because they weigh my hair down and make my hair too silky. What can I say? I like my natural texture! This has a very clean scent and tons of hair healthy ingredients such as rosehip, argan oil, and coconut oil.
LaRitzy Dew Pot, 0.12 oz- FULL SIZE Retail Value $20.00
As seen on Liz above, this dew pot is a gorgeous rose gold color that will work well with most skin tones. You can use it as a highlighter or a cream shadow. It blended very easily and did not crease on my lid. I could also see it making a great primer for other coordinating metallic shadows.
YouTheory Collagen Powder, 1.89 oz- Estimated Value $4.53 (Buy 10 oz for $23.99, found here for $19.19)
This collagen powder has a vanilla scent added, making it perfect to mix in with your morning coffee or in my case Earl Grey. I didn't notice much of a taste difference, which was good! I did have a hard time getting this to dissolve because it tends to clump when added to hot water. If collagen gives be better hair and stronger nails, I can deal with a little extra mixing effort.
Beth Collins MD Pour Le Bouche Lemon Lip Balm FULL SIZE! Retail Value $6.99
Beth Collins is a world-renowned plastic surgeon operating a practice in Connecticut. She has her own product line that she created for her patients and it includes some really great skincare items. This lip balm is heavy duty, which is perfect for winter's chill. I used this throughout the day and also applied it on extra thick as a lip sleeping mask. It is very effective! I appreciate it has minimal ingredients (lanolin, essential oil, and honey) but I could understand why this would be a no-go for my vegan beauty friends.
Beth Collins MD Pour Le Bouche Peppermint Lip Balm FULL SIZE! Retail Value $6.99
The second flavor of this lip balm is a bright potent peppermint. I keep this one in my purse and the lemon one at my bedside. The formulas are identical aside from the choice of essential oil.
Perricone MD Face Firming Serum - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $99
WOW. I have been wanting to try this product but the price tag always scared me off. I was so thrilled to get this product. Fine lines are one of my main concerns in my early 30s and I am hoping this product might help me out in that area. I really only have the faintest of lines on the sides of my forehead but I am always looking for ways to reduce and prevent them. The brown frosted glass bottle is absolutely in line with my love of minimal product packaging and the serum has a light medicinal scent. I know it isn't for everyone, but I really enjoy a more natural smell in my products. It absorbed quickly into my skin and didn't leave me sticky. I used moisturizer after waiting a few minutes and it went on easily, avoiding that pilling effect that sometimes happens when you mix products. I am really looking forward to trying this our long-term and seeing if it is worth the hype!
Verdict: This box has a value of about $296.51. That's an INSANE value compared to the $38.90 bi-monthly cost ($29.95 a box plus $8.95 shipping). All items except the collagen powder are full size, so in addition to an amazing value, you also get enough products to try out over a long period of time. If you are an anti-aging skincare nut like myself this box is a no-brainer for the Perricone MD serum all by itself, but with this box, you also get the amazing Glytone and night cream. I am blown away this month.
