Laserbrain Patch Co November 2018 "Beetlejuice" Review

Laserbrain November 2018 - Card Front

The information card contains a further look into the theme of the month, the listed value of each item, and the Instagram accounts of the featured artists. The theme this month is Beetlejuice because it was so requested by subscribers. No big deal; it just happens to be one of my favorite movies. The pin this month is done by @teawulfe, so let’s take a look at all the items!

Laserbrain November 2018 - Card Coloring Page

Coloring Page

On the back of the information card, there’s always a coloring page. This month’s drawing is designed by @teawulfe, and it looks to be Lidia’s red outfit from the end of the movie when Beetlejuice tries to force her to marry him. Those spiders are amazing!

Laserbrain November 2018 - Pin Back

“Strange and Unusual” Pin - Listed Value $15

I cannot believe how insanely clever this pin is. The slider movement is neat anyway, but I love that this is like the camera Lidia used to take photos of the Maitlands as they attempted to haunt her house. The “strange and unusual” words listed on the pin are a great nod to her quote in the movie during this scene, and the picture of the two “ghosts” is the perfect touch. I cannot wait to wear this!

Beetlejuice Stripe Socks - Listed Value $5

There is never going to be a time when socks aren’t welcome to me, but it’s not every day a pair appears that I like so much. The black-and-white motif is always a winner in my book, and these are cool because they both match Beetlejuice’s suit - and the dreaded sandworms!

Laserbrain November 2018 - Sandworm Patch Close 1

Laserbrain November 2018 - Sandworm Patch Close 2

Sandworm Patch - Listed Value $9

Wow - can you say show-stopper? I count seven colors in this beautiful patch! It’s a design of a two-headed sandworm, the striped creature that Beetlejuice fears so strongly throughout the film. I absolutely adore the gold thread trim, and the design in the middle reminds me of an infinity knot. Is it weird that this is equally creepy and gorgeous at the same time? I love the large size, and round shape makes it the perfect centerpiece to make a really bold statement.

Verdict: Laserbrain Patch Co. really sent the most the creative pin I could’ve imagined this month, and the basically the prettiest patch of all time! The value for this box is listed as $29, way more than the $16.00 subscription price, but truly, I think the patch has a much higher value than its $9 listed price. The pin was so clever, and I really liked that it showed such a deep level of understanding of the movie. It’s what the kids call a “deep cut”!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but order now to receive December. (The theme is Home Alone!) Here’s what they say on the site:

Love that pin! Super cute box, but the main character is Lydia – not Lidia. 🙂

Ahh! Good catch! This is so embarrassing, but I think I was thinking of the Italian celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich – I was hungry when I wrote it! ;P
