I’m actually interested in this box – but what is the difference between the Covet Crate and the Girl Boss box? They seem like the same thing and they’re the same price?

I don’t work in a conservative industry, yet as a woman older than 25, I wouldn’t be caught dead in a meeting, or even just sitting on my desk, with a mug or notebook that says Hustle or Pimp Like a Boss or any of those other “sassy” female entrepreneural empowerment sayings.
I agree with Karen about how this box went astray. It is a great goal to provide products that support women in the workplace, but please offer products that are respectful of the work we did to get there.

Didn’t the main covet crate box used to cost $95 (I think it was called Lady Boss) and the Girl Boss was the $55 box? It looks like they are both $55 now…when did they change their model? It was smart if they did as it seemed like these guys were struggling to effectively compete with the other luxury boxes near the $100 price point.
That being said, I think it’s still a pass for me. Until they stop including so much stuff with the words “Lady Boss” on it, I think it will be hard for them to attract women in more traditional, corporate office environments. I think it would seem pretty unprofessional for someone in my career/industry to go to a meeting and pull out a flowery notebook with the word “Lady Boss” printed across it. But it’s a bummer because I would love to support a box that supports female owned businesses.

I’m the owner 🙂 All of our boxes are slightly tailored to fit various professional preferences. We actually have a large number of women that request the items with “Boss Babe”, “Lady Boss” on them. (Which is why some of our marketing photos show those items).
Upon subscribing you can provide your preferences for items that would better support your career and the industry you’re in. I know many women are in more formal corporate environments. We’d love for you to give us a try!

Thank you for explaining that. I remember the reviews of the first box Covet Crate put out, and I thought this was a box to watch or cover from afar.
It is really nice to know that a subscriber can ask for items to refrain from saying anything. I would prefer to have items without any words on them. The design and quality of the items always looked nice, but the slogans were a turn off to me, personally.
