Candy Club November 2018 Review

You normally get info cards that describe the candy as well as list the nutritional info on the back, but this time I didn't receive them. Not a big deal for me personally since I never check nutritional info. As long as it tastes good, amirite?

Peppermint Salt Water Taffy, 2.8 oz.

The first thing I talk about is the loose candy that comes in every box that is always a surprise. I have to say, the amount has been dwindling, but since it's not always something I like, I guess it's not a huge deal. I just wish they didn't skimp on the mystery candy. It's salt water taffy again (like last month) only this time it's peppermint flavored. These are like super soft n chewy versions of the hard peppermint candies you see a lot of in candy dishes at the front desk of offices and restaurants. I rather like these!

Albanese Gummi Snow Flurries, 11.7 oz.

Candy Club usually has seasonal candies to choose from, so I always try to snatch some up when I'm making my selections. When your candies are ready to pick, you'll get an email and have about 3 days to choose before they make the important decisions without you. For my first choice, I went for these gummy snowflakes! I just love the three colors they come in and they're so cute. What's shocking is that they are watermelon, blue raspberry, and pineapple-flavored! These are soooo incredibly soft too! I think watermelon is my favorite, which is the cloudy light blue ones. YUM.

Albanese Milk Chocolate Cashews, 8.4 oz.

Chocolate covered nuts are a must for me when I'm craving candy and cashews are expensive, so I knew I wanted these bad boys. Each one is so plump and when you bite down on it, your taste buds are flooded with creamy milk chocolate flavor.  The soft fresh cashews are a nice way to mellow out the sweetness and of course, bring an amazing salty factor to this marriage. My word, these are just heavenly. I don't think I'll be sharing these at all with other MSAers like I normally so. Don't tell them!

Arway Christmas Tree Pretzels, 6.8 oz.

Last but certainly not least is the sweetest of the bunch this month. I love pretzels when they're coated in something sweet like yogurt or chocolate. Here we have Christmas tree shaped pretzels that have been dunked into white chocolate and drizzled with red and green frosting. It may be a little early for me to get into the holiday spirit but the flavor here is appropriate anytime! Like the chocolate covered nuts, these bring a powerhouse of sweet n salty combos to our mouth.

Verdict: Candy Club's prices are ridiculous and we all know it. That being said, I do really love their candy (and they're running a pretty wild Black Friday deal right now through 11/25: use this link to save 70% off your first box). I think this subscription is more for a gift than something a person would buy for themselves. Or perhaps you don't have the time to get candy at the mall but you want it for your fancy office and have the money to simply have it delivered to your door? We may never know, but someone must be loving it! This time I got a total of 29.7 ounces total or 1.86 pounds which is not very much weight-wise at all when they advertise "up to 3 pounds".

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You won't get this exact box since you can either choose your candy or have it chosen at random for you and the selection changes all the time.

The pricing listed doesn’t match their website and $10 shipping made me decide not to

The “scatter” (the loose candy) really has dwindled since candy club started. They’re really stingy with it now. I called a few months ago to complain about the lack of selection of gummy and sour candies they had been having since that’s the only reason I subscribed in the first place. I was on the brink of canceling my subscription and I had been with them since they started, so they made me a deal instead. I only have to pay $19.99 for my 3 candy a month plan from now until I decide to cancel. They do seem to have done a little better with the gummy and sour selections since I called, and the deal they offered me is pretty sweet, so I’ll stay.
