My Kind of Christmas by Janet Dailey – Retail Value $7.99 (found here for $5.98)
I got a different book by Janet Dailey in my August box, and I enjoyed it enough to read more of her work—I actually have read some of the books from this specific series, though not this one. I was excited to get a book in a series I had read parts of, and this was a fun and easy read with a cute cowboy, a cute dog, and a strong and independent female lead character. Is October a bit early to be getting Christmas themed books? Maybe, but I was reading Christmas themed books back in August so I can’t judge.

Bubbles & Books Premium Handmade Soap in Pumpkin Spice
This soap is a Bubbles & Books exclusive, handmade with olive oil, coconut oil, soybean oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, shea butter, water, and lye. This soap really brings the spice in pumpkin spice, and I find the overall scent to be hearty and warm.
Bubbles & Books Premium Bath Bomb in Cinn Bun Bun
I love that this box always includes a bath bomb—slipping into a bath that’s been fragranced with a bath bomb with a good read is one of my favorite ways to relax! This smells pretty similar to cinnamon rolls, and it is a good fall bath bomb scent to relax in.
Apples & Acorns Tealight
This tealight is made by Beaches of Tunisia, the brand that also crafts the incense that frequently appears in the box. The apple scent is lovely, and I plan on having it burning when I dip into my cinnamon bun scented bath with a good book for ultimate relaxation.
Heart Tin Tealight Holder
To store our tealight we also received this heart-shaped tealight holder with hearts stamped out of the side. I could probably fit three tealights in this, actually, but I think overall storing the tealight here is safer than having the tealight burn on its own.
Mini Thankful Sign
Wow, this sign is tiny! It is a cute accent for the upcoming holiday season, but it feels weird that the tag is essentially the same size as the sign itself. I think the best way to hang this up would be with a pin on a corkboard—does anyone else have any ideas?
Twinnings Everyday Tea, 1 bag – Buy a box of 50 for $3.81 (£2.99)
I found the little sleeve this teabag was packaged in to be a cute touch to an otherwise simple bag of tea. This is a blend of different black teas, which means it has too much caffeine for me at the moment. I should be good to go for mild caffeine in a few weeks, and I look forward to steeping this and finishing it with a splash of cream.
Aunt Jenny’s Beads Autumn Crystal Bracelet Kit – Estimated Value $1.50 (based on similar bracelet kit found here)
Am I the only one who thinks that the demographic of people who want to ready a sultry romance novel about a bad boy cowboy is not the same demographic of people who want to string beads to make a simple bracelet? Maybe this is for moms who need to entertain their kids so they can have time to slip away with their book and bath bomb. This kit comes with red, olive green, yellow, and white plastic beads along with a piece of stretchy cord and instructions.
Verdict: Bubbles & Books combines two of my favorite things—reading and baths! That being said, I really wish they would focus more on sending higher quality items, rather than a lot of low-quality items. I think a full-size candle would have rounded out the book, bath bomb, and soap nicely while also feeling more luxurious. Receiving lots of little random things feels more like gathering clutter than special accents to the experience. A great example is the faux flower stalk that came in the box—you can see it in the group shot. I believe it was just to set the ambiance, but it still had the 39 cent tag attached. If the little items like the flowers, the tealight, the bracelet strand, and the tealight holder were replaced with a 4 or 6 oz candle, I think this box would be stellar. As of now, I view it as ho-hum. At least the Janet Dailey cowboy books are great!
