Bonjour Jolie November 2018 "Remember When" Review

The theme for Bonjour Jolie is "Remember When" which I think is such a fun idea and I absolutely loved all of the brown paper packaging. I think this is a pretty unique theme and the box felt really cohesive to me.

Alright! Let's start with the goods! All of your menstrual products will come in a discreet bag that fits in with the theme. This newspaper style was perfect for our theme.

When you sign up, you can choose up to 20 different menstrual products in any combination of tampons, pads, and liners. They offer a great selection of items from brands like Always, Kotex, and OB. You can check their selection out before you commit though, in case you are someone who has a preferred brand.

U By Kotex Click in Super (12)- Buy 36 for $6.99

Always Radiant Liners (4) - Buy 96 for $6.99

Softdisc Menstrual Disc (4) - Buy 14 for $10.99 (formerly Softcup)

You can change your selections at any time by editing your profile, but keep in mind there might be a delay if you need to switch up your needs each month! The ability to switch it up is what I really like about this box and the fact that you can try new things, (like these menstrual cups!) without committing to an entire box of products! This month I received 12 tampons, 4 liners and 4 cups which is exactly what I requested.

Summer's Eve Cleansing Cloths in Aloe Love (1) - Buy 16 for $7.47

Summer's Eve Cleansing Cloths in Island Splash (1) - Buy 16 for $6.14

Cleansing cloths like these seem to be in every box which is nice because I have a great little stash for when I might need them!

Advil to Go Packs (2) –  Buy 50 packets for $9.98

These little packets each have two pills, just enough to help with cramps or headaches while on the go.

Blissful Apothecary Old Fashioned Cinnamon Roll Soap - Retail Value $8.50

Wow! It's no wonder they had to put a warning to not eat this on the label! Look at that icing detail - it looks just like sugary icing dripping down the side of this handmade soap. This actually smells like a real cinnamon roll, too, and not just the fake super-sweet scent, but more like cream cheese frosting. This is definitely way too cool for me to use and I'm also thinking it would make a great gift since it comes in such a cute bakery-style package!

The Hearth Shoppe Large Re-Usable Heating Pad - Retail Value $15

The next item was packaged up very nicely as well in a simple blue piece of fabric with a twine tie. This is the perfect item for a period box since heat can really help combat those killer cramps. I love that it's made from organic cotton flannel and has this fun red plaid design, which feels a little old school to me and fits right in with the theme. This handsewn heating pad is filled with organic rice and can be microwaved to heat it up or put in the freezer to use as a cold pack. I like that it's a nice size that isn't too bulky!

Our yummies came packaged all together in one large yellow bag and I love that they included when each was made so you can see exactly why it was chosen for this box!

Goetze Caramel Creams (5) - Buy a 12 oz bag for $9.99

Charleston Chews Vanilla (5) - Buy 120 for $12.15

First up was a bag of really classic treats, Charleston Chews and Goetze Caramel Creams. The caramels were introduced in 1918 while the Charleston Chews were created in 1925 and the card informed me that its name comes from a popular dance at the time, the Charleston. Neither of these treats was for me though, but I do think that my dad who loves his candy will appreciate me passing these on to him! I probably won't tell him which box they came from though. Haha.

Tootsie Pops (2) - Buy 100 for $17.29

These are a classic for me that I truly love and probably always will enjoy! They were made in 1929 and I love that they reference the classic "how many licks" line on the info card we received.

Zero Candy Bar (full size) - Buy 24 for $23.44

I am a candy lover but I can honestly say, I have never tried one of these before! They were made in 1920 and have caramel, peanut and almond nougat inside covered with white fudge. Definitely a different kind of candy bar with the white chocolate coating! This was pretty tasty, a lot of the peanut flavor came through in the nougat which was good with the white fudge, but I don't think I'll be seeking this one out any time soon!

Junior Mints Snack Box (2) - Buy 72 for $18.68

Junior Mints, however, are my jam. These are what I always used to get when we went to the movies as a kid, so I have a lot of fond memories with these. I still buy a box every now and then when I find them, so I was happy to see these in the box! These were made in 1928, in case you're wondering!

Twinings Herbal Teas (3 packets) - Buy 20 for $3.59

Last up, we have our tea, perfect period comfort! Twinings is the world's oldest tea company still in existence and was founded in 1706! I love that they even brought the theme with their tea bag choice! I received one each of Nightly Calm, Buttermint, and Chamomile, Honey & Vanilla Herbal Teas. I decided to try the buttermint and it was delicious and unique tasting exactly like it sounds! A nice buttery mint with hints of vanilla. I'd definitely purchase this if I saw it out!

Verdict: This was another really fun Bonjour Jolie box for me. I love the theme and the way that they incorporated it into the box! It just made it feel like such a thoughtfully curated selection of items instead of just a box full of stuff you can use when you're on your period (although it definitely still was that as well!). I love that each month I can switch up my profile and make sure I am getting exactly what I need product wise and I think the amount they send is fair.  This is such a convenient service and this company seems very willing to customize your box and meet your needs whether it's allergens or just personal preferences, which is awesome. We paid $24.48 ($16.50 + $0.99 tax + $6.99 shipping) for this month's box and I estimate the total value of everything to be around $30-$35, which I think is a great value for such a unique and fun theme that was very well done!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

The heating pad is divine! Really a perfect size. I get stupid painful cramps and this just nestles perfectly on my uterus and the moist heat feels so nice, helps to make my cramps better.

To date, this is my favorite theme they have done. This one and their mermaid box back in June.

I won’t be showing this review to my daughter. I stopped her subscription around June and she noted the boxes weren’t coming. This one in particular I think would go over very well with her. She would love the heating pad . . . maybe I need to make her one . . .

Holy moly that soap is the cutest thing I have ever seen!! Is is big or tiny? Size? I would totally have eaten it, so their warning is much appreciated, LOL!!

Haha it’s like the size of a regular Pillsbury roll (not the big ones), so it definitely looks realistic! 🙂

I really love that they use mostly small companies, as it really brings super unique stuff to us every month. Some stuff I have never even seen before, and that is just so cool. The heating pad is going to be divine this winter, and I cannot wait to try the yummy soap!

I was going to subscribe but I didn’t see the the SoftDisc’s as a choice…?

Hi Kris! They are actually listed under the Pads all the way at the bottom! Not where you’d think to look for them! 🙂
