Yogi Surprise October 2018 Review

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Info Sheet

This month is all about recovery after you practice.

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Sequence 1

Yogi Surprise September 2018 - Yogi Surprise sequence 2

There’s a card that outlines a yoga flow to help me get grounded. I like that all of the poses are familiar to me and not too complicated.

Yogi Surprise Socks

I really enjoy yoga, even though I don’t do it as often as I should—I am hoping this box will motivate me, and I can start with the yoga poses included on the card with these socks! Having my feet slip when I try to pose is so irritating, and these fix that problem perfectly. I am not sophisticated enough to know if the open hole at the top of my feet on these socks serves a purpose or is just for style, but I like the way these fit and work nonetheless.

Yogi Surprise October 2018 -Gypsy Soul Organics “Wind” Candle 1

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Gypsy Soul Organics “Wind” Candle 2

Gypsy Soul Organics “Wind” Candle, 2 oz – Retail Value $15

This candle is made with just five organic ingredients—beeswax, coconut oil, eucalyptus leaf, sweet basil, and spearmint leaf. The resulting scent is very herbaceous, but it is also very refreshing. According to Gypsy Soul Organics, this candle should also help to eliminate dust, mold, and odors. I cannot say for sure if that happens (also I don't think I have mold in my apartment… right?), but I love the way this really brightens up the room while burning.

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Scentuals 100% Rosehip Natural Beauty Oil

Scentuals 100% Rosehip Natural Beauty Oil, 2 oz – Retail Value $23

This is pure rosehip oil, and I love getting pure oils in subscription boxes because it really helps me to personalize my skincare routine. This can be used anywhere that I need it—my hair, my cuticles, my face. Rosehip oil is also supposed to help with healing scars, so I will be using it for that purpose in the coming weeks.

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Wipe 1

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Wipe 2

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Wipe 3

Ursa Major Face Wipes, Box of 5 – Retail Value $6.50

I recently had surgery with an overnight hospital stay, and I packed these as one of my bare essential toiletries. It was so refreshing to be able to wipe my face with one of these bad boys, and it felt like my face was cleansed and soothed after a night of pain and sweat. Some of the ingredients include aloe, green tea, willow bark, and birch sap, and these would be perfect to refresh after exercising or anytime you don’t have time for a full cleanse but want to treat your face right.

FlavaNaturals Flavabar Pure Cocoa Nibs, 2 1.2 oz bars – Buy 10 bars for $23.95

Chocolate isn’t currently on my post-op diet, so I fed this to my mom who flew in to take care of me (aren’t moms the best?). My mom described it as a rich chocolate that would be a good treat, and that it was “really yummy” for chocolate that has 5 times the amount of antioxidants as regular dark chocolate.

A coupon was also included to buy more chocolate!

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Yube 1

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Yube 2

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream, 1 oz – Retail Value $16

I have been able to try samples of this rich cream before, but I am excited to have my first full-size version! Now that the weather is getting colder dry skin is more of an issue, and this is great anywhere that needs some extra love. I personally love it on my elbows and the back of my forearms, as well as a drop on my chapped lips. A little bit goes a long way, so this tube should be lasting a while!

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Apana Eco Handheld Full Body Massager 1

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Apana Eco Handheld Full Body Massager 2

Yogi Surprise October 2018 - Yogi Surprise Massage 3

Apana Eco Handheld Full Body Massager – Retail Value $9.99 (currently sold out)

Oh boy- this little guy was a lifesaver when it came to how sore my body was after surgery. It easily fits in the palm of my hand to massage wherever I can reach, and it also helps for someone else to give you a massage without too much effort on their part. I used this on my neck and shoulder area where I had pain from rising anesthesia gas, and this helping the pain dissipate in minutes. My mom used this with a few drops of the rosehip oil on my sore back, and it was heavenly. While I am counting down the days until my doctor clears me to get a massage, this is my best friend—I have used it every day since coming home from the hospital!

The Verdict: This box was designed to help you recover after exercise, but it was perfect for helping me recover after surgery, too! Beyond that, I was impressed with the thoughtful curation of every item in the box, and I love that all of the items were full-size. Yogi Surprise promises a retail value of $85 in every box, and I calculated a value of $70.49 for everything except the chocolate and the yoga socks. I can easily see the value of those two items pushing the retail value of $85, but more importantly, I think there is tremendous value in the curation of this box—I am seriously in love!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the next box. Sign up on or by the 13th to get the next month’s box! All orders processed after the 13th will ship the following month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $49.95 + free US shipping, which means that each of the 7 items has an average cost of $7.14

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

This sub looks so awesome I can’t even stand it. But the price, ugh, too much for me.

Love the colour and design on those yogi socks! can they be bought separately from any online shops?
For scars I would recommend you Swedish brand Bio-Oil. It is amazing! it even works in age old scars.

The info card, and bottle, says Rosehip 100% natural beauty oil. I think it was just a mis-type by the reviewer.

Not 100% Rosehip oil, these are the ingredients:

Rosa canina (Rosehip) oil, Vitis vinifera (Grapeseed) oil, Prunus armeniaca (Apricot) oil, Carthamus tinctorius (Safflower) seed oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
