Yogi Surprise Jewelry  October 2018 Review

Yogi Surprise info 1 - Information Card Front Veiw

This month’s theme is Samasthiti! Samasthiti (from my understanding) is also known as the mountain pose, and it is foundational pose designed to help you feel grounded, stable, and confident.

Here is the info sheet detailing the jewelry (and the snack!).

A mala is a strand of 108 beads plus a "guru" bead designed to help you with meditation or prayer. From my research, in Hinduism the number 1 stands for God, the universe, or your highest truth (whatever you believe!), the number 0 stands for emptiness and humility in the spiritual practice, and the number 8 stands for infinity and timelessness, which is why the malas are strung with 108 beads. I found a helpful tutorial on how to use malas for meditation here, which I recommend checking out if you are new to them like I am.

This Mala is made with Tigers Eye as the guru bead, which is for balance and strength of will. The other beads include Green Rhyolite Kambada, which is said to invoke harmony and peace, and Dark Rosewood which welcomes balance. The bold red tassel is designed to remind you of your own personal power.

This bracelet is designed to match the Mala, and you can wear them together or separately if you prefer to only use your Mala for meditative purposes. It has the same properties thanks to the Tigers Eye and Green Rhyolite Kambada, and it closes with a lobster clasp that has a 2-inch extender.

Elements Truffles Ginger with Black Pepper Chocolate Bar, 2 oz – Buy 3 bars for $20

I currently have some severe dietary restrictions, so I passed this bar along to my good friend and chocolate connoisseur for her opinions. Since this is made with 70% cacao, no dairy, and sweetened with honey, it definitely is not your typical chocolate bar. The most prominent flavor was ginger (she couldn’t really taste the black pepper at all), but the ginger wasn’t overwhelming. This bar also has sesame seeds for crunch, but since it is just in the middle of the bar you don’t get the crunch every time.

The Verdict: I really enjoyed being exposed to a new form of meditation with this box, which is something I am trying to incorporate more into my everyday life. Yogi Surprise listed the total value of the box as $151. I am not a bead expert, so I cannot attest to the quality, authenticity, or value of the beads included. What I can say is that the pieces felt like they were of good quality (the Mala especially had a solid weight to it), and for the $24.95 I am extremely happy with what I received – especially considering all jewelry is handcrafted with fair trade materials.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Yes, I believe the October box is still available.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
