Pretty Paper Club Custom Stationery October 2018 Review

This was our first time receiving our box. I was really excited to see the handwritten note to me. I do not know if this is just because it is our first box, but it really warmed my heart. Handwritten notes are a thing of the past and most of the subscriptions I receive always include a typed up, generic note. I do hope this is an every box deal; I feel special 😊 My letter also included confetti. The confetti has a special meaning to the Pretty Paper Club and I am happy to pass on a tradition among best friends and family.

We also received this card to explain the theme. October is the month of Halloween but also Breast Cancer Awareness month. I love how Pretty Paper Club has combined them and shared some traditions with their subscribers.

Pink-a-Boo Door Hangers

The first item that really stood out were these door hangers. This is one of those traditions I was speaking of above. You take a basket of goodies (or a bottle of wine -- heeeey!) to a neighbor’s house, a co-worker’s office or just a friend who needs it. The point is to secretly deliver it and attach this door hanger to indicate that they’ve been Pink-a-Booed (or Pink-a-Boozed). I haven’t gotten around to doing this, but am saving it for Halloween for two of my favorite neighbors. You can find printables to join in the fun here!

Custom Stationery Set

The second item in the box is my first set of custom stationery!

I received 8 cards with a coordinating border on the bottom plus coordinating self-sealed envelopes in light pink and dark pink. I especially love that ALL the envelopes are self-sealed because it's convenient.

I also love how I received two different styles: a light style and a dark style. And it may not seem like a big deal, but they spelled my name correctly! Even with my name right in front of some, companies still mix up an “a” and an “e” and it gets annoying; it matters! These cards are made of cardstock and measure 4 ¼ wide and 5 ½ long, great for a quick note to someone.

Envelope Seals

Also included with my custom notecards were these seals that coordinate with the stationery and October’s holidays: Halloween and Breast Cancer Awareness.

X’s and O’s Confetti

Lastly, and ALWAYS included with custom notecards, is confetti. This month I received X’s and O’s to send hugs and kisses with every letter. Read about the significance of the confetti and who Julie is here.

This was my next item; I think this is my surprise! Oh, how I do love surprises!!

I received 5 mini clips and 2 washi tapes! These clips are super cute, measuring at 1 ¾ inches and I got a nice variety of colors! Light pink, dark pink and one black.

Orange Chevron Washi Tape

The first washi tape I received is this orange chevron pattern. It’s a pretty skinny tape, measuring at half a centimeter.

Bat Washi Tape

The other washi tape I received is this bat style one; super cute for Halloween! It was a bit thicker than the previous measuring at 1 centimeter. I am sure I can incorporate this into this years Pink-a-Boo.

Or box also included a couple of Halloween themed postcards.

Miss You To Death Postcard

The first one we got is this super spooky Miss You To Death postcard full of spiders and beetles. Eek.

And the back is no exception to those beetles. It is a traditional postcard and I still have a few days to mail it out to someone special and still make it on or before Halloween.

I Have Been Dying To Say Hello Postcard

I really liked this postcard the most. It is perfectly within Halloween décor but is still basic with the solid black background with the Ouija pointer in the corner.

And I really like the bones in the back border! Super cool and just my style.

Buttermints

The final items we received this month’s Pretty Paper Club subscription box were a couple of buttermints wrapped in a white wrapper with the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon. I secretly love these so much! I just love how they melt in your mouth.

Verdict: I was pretty happy with my first box. When I opened the mail and saw the box, I was super curious to see inside (I am always more excited about subs when I see a pretty box). When I opened it and saw the envelope with my name I felt an instant love for the box because they made me feel important; I do hope every box comes with a hand-written note. I love the custom notecards and self-sealed envelopes. As far as value, the Pretty Paper Club online store is pretty limited to just a few things, all $20 or more. Considering the box is $20, subscribing is the better deal.

I received 8 items, counting the notecards, envelopes, postcards, and clips each as sets respectfully. I didn’t include the door hangers or mints since the door hangers are printables and the mints are a small treat. For $24 a box ($20 a month plus $4 shipping), that means I have spent about $3 an item, which is well worth the value of this box.

Can you still get this box if you subscribe today? You will not get the October Halloween-Breast Cancer Awareness box, but if you subscribe today you will get the November box!

It warms my heart to know of such a love that her and her bestfriend Julie shared and that she shares that love in EVERY SINGLE box. I wish her very much continued success.

Love this! Sometimes I think I’m keeping the post office going on my own, I send so much mail and this would be a great resource. I think the price is actually more than fair for customized stationery. This is definitely on my radar.
