Pet Treater Cat Pack September 2018 Review

I sometimes find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:

Pet Treater Cat Octcber 2018 - Sticker

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts including a humorous sticker.

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Caterpillar

Petlinks Kitty Pillar – Retail Value $6.48

This is more of a Monkey item. He really likes canvas textures. Sneaky, meanwhile, likes to chew on stringy things, so there is something for her here, too.

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Cigar

Petlinks Catnip Stogie – Retail Value $7.85

This is a compressed catnip “cigar.” This is typically a toy that Mr. Kitty would like but he wasn’t so much in the mood for pictures. I’ve put it in one of his favorite spots for him to rediscover later on. Most everyone was willing to give it a sniff, though.

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Salmon

Fancy Feast Purely Natural Wild Alaskan Salmon Filets – Buy 10 for $18.90 (found here for $10.65)

I have bought the tuna version of these before (see below) as I am trying to get Monkey to gain weight and it is something he will actually eat (sometimes). We had never tried the salmon before so I opened that one up for the pictures this month. It was easier to cut/mash into pieces than the tuna and it was quite popular.

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Tuna

Fancy Feast Purely Natural Tuna Filets – Buy 10 for $19.99

This is an item I usually keep on hand and that my cats really love. Monkey is a fan and Sneaky and Madison will finish up what he doesn’t eat. I find it easier for the cats to handle if you kind of press it with the side of a fork a whole bunch to break it into smaller pieces.

Angus finished off the salmon (he was too timid to get in there when Sneaky was at the plate). Sadly, Angus has since had some serious digestive issues and is eating hypoallergenic kibble with no treats for at least two months (it doesn’t have to do with this product, which was fine for Sneaky, Madison, and Monkey, it has to do with Angus’s digestive system and food allergies). But hey, I barely broke $100 at the vet’s office this time and it was two whole weeks since my last visit with a sick cat (Monkey’s eye, which is all better now), so that seems like progress.

Monkey was still in the cone for these pictures but his eye is all better and he is free now (and Angus is back in a cone…).

He was happy to sniff this for a very long time, from all angles.

Monkey wanted to rub his teeth on the cigar.

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Monkey 3

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Monkey 4

I had to help him get some of the salmon. The cone was getting in his way.

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Sneaky 1

Sneaky had one interest only, and it was not toys. (That’s just how she is.)

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Sparkles 1

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Sparkles 2

Pet Treater Cat October 2018 - Sparkles 3

Mr. Kitty was having his afternoon nap in the sunny window and there wasn’t much you could do to rouse him. (He is wearing the cone because he keeps wanting to rub his eye and we don’t want him to lose the only one he’s got left! He goes back to the veterinary ophthalmologist next week for a checkup.)

Verdict: I couldn’t calculate a total value for the October 2018 Pet Treater Cat Pack because several items were not available for individual sale online. (You may be able to pick up the Fancy Feast items in pet stores individually.) But, the two toys alone have retail values that add up to the price of the subscription, and the treats are not exactly cheap (plus you get to try ONE of something to see if your cat likes it before shelling out $20 for a full package). This was one of the best months for this subscription (for us personally) for us in a while.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you’d receive November’s package as your first shipment. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

LIMITED TIME DEAL: For a limited time, use coupon code YESMEOW to get your first Pet Treater Cat Pack for only $5!

Value Breakdown: At $12.99 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3.25 per item.

My cats love the fillets, especially the chicken. I’ve been lucky enough to find them for $.99 at Grocery Outlet recently. Since my older girl, Marley, is also no stranger to the cone, I like that I can easily hold pieces out to her when she’s in it.

I had never seen those fillets. I’m sure my cats would love them.

As usual, I love your pictures. I hope everybody is feeling better.

You can probably find them in the cat treats section at Petco if you want to try just one, or you can buy 10-packs at Amazon and Chewy.

…as usual for my house, it was a great bag!

i had one problem, though…i get 2 of the “cat bags”, & while one compressed catnip “stogie” was fine, the other was a crumbly, dusty mess!
i’ve had these things “dry out” before, but…this catnip looked…really funky–almost black, and really powder-y…in fact, it had “leaked” out of the airhole in the packaging, and was all over everything in the bag…

i reached out immediately, but, weekend, so, hoping to hear from CS tomorrow…

i put the crumbly mess in a bowl, & set it on the floor, but…they aren’t excited about it…too dried out, i guess!😻

i’ll let y’all know what happens!
fingers crossed i get a replacement!🤞

…update:
received email early this morning concerning dried-out powdery “stogie”, and, 2 replacements have been shipped out

i have gotten superb CS from this company, every time i’ve had an issue–i love this little sub!

oh, and i did want to comment about the treats this month…

these are, like, real chunks of actual meat, aren’t they? not freeze-dried, even juicy!
my cats were in heaven with these!
i got a chicken and tuna in one, & a salmon and tuna in the other–super-grateful for the chx one–i have a couple no-fish babies!

these things are kinda pricey at the store…one caveat: i did notice my exp dates were november 2018 for the chx, and december 2018 for all 3 fish

use’em now! no saving for kitty christmas stockings!

Thank you for posting such wonderful reviews with your beautiful babies! I am absolutely in love with Mr. Kitty!

I easily drop $800-$1,000 a month on veterinary concerns (we have nine cats). Allergies are frustrating for the cat and for the mama. I feel for Angus.

Nyx’s food alone is $500/month (prescription only). Then there are Mr. Kitty’s 12 medications (some are eye drops, we go to the veterinary ophthalmologist a lot) and insulin syringes and Sneaky’s asthma inhaler and Madison and Monkey’s prescription foods. So I know where you’re coming from.

Angus seems better but he still has a way to go.
