Peaches and Petals September 2018 Box Review

No info card for the products inside, but on the back they urge you to try their snack subscription.

Let's dig in!

Method Limited Edition Ocean Waves Foaming Hand Wash, 10 oz. - Retail value $2.99 (similar found here for $2.84)

Limited Edition, you say? Well, it is truly limited since I wasn't able to find it in stock online, but I linked to a similar product above. Honestly, foaming hand soap is what I can hope for in a box that can be as random as Peaches & Petals. I'm familiar with Method and the Ocean Waves scent is rather clean and nice smelling, so I'm all about this item.

Bulbrite Starry Lights LED String Lights, 10 ft - Retail Price $3.26

These string lights are pretty cute and I've always seen images on Pinterest and what not of putting something like this in a mason jar to create a lamp. Each tiny bulb is connected on a super thin wire that connects to a battery pack with an on/off switch. Unfortunately, these didn't come with the needed three AA batteries, but I always have some on hand so it wasn't a big deal. Once fired up, they have quite a nice warm glow. These would be great for outdoors where you don't' have an outlet, like a porch hang session.

Wildflowers for Sensitive Skin Detoxifying Clay Masque, 4 oz. - Retail value $9.99

While I try to keep my skincare natural and am wary of brand names I don't recognize, I love the idea of getting a clay mask in this sub. This one is made with lavender and chamomile extracts and has a light green minty color to it. The consistency is more rubbery than I was expecting for a clay mask and the directions say that it doesn't dry hard either which most I've used do. This has more the consistency of a peeling mask than anything. This does contain alcohol (along with a slew of other things), so I won't be putting this on my face. It doesn't smell particularly nice either, so I think I'll pass on this one. Such potential though!

Global Beauty Care Spa Treatment Mask with Coconut Oil, 2 count - Estimated Retail Value $4.00 (Buy a 5 pack for $9.99)

Another beauty product in this months box is this 2 pack of coconut oil face masks. I have face masks galore and truly love doing them so it's nice to find them here even though sub boxes are flooded with them. This mask was sort of neutral-smelling and quite literally dripping with the essence which can be a bit of a pain. Overall, I don't think this is a life-changing mask but moisturizes just as well as any basic ones out there.

Sloth Necklace

The last item is not for me but definitely gave me a chuckle. The famous image of King Kong on the Empire State Building has been replaced with a huge sloth instead, complete with planes coming for it. The pendant is rather large at roughly 1 x 2 inches, and the image is bubbled plastic on a metal back. The double silver chain has an 11-inch drop so this easily fits over my head without having to unclasp it. This necklace is probably for someone much more fun than me as I like to keep things plain.

Verdict: Peaches and Petals wasn't my bag this month, but did send five items for a mere $19.99, making them each cost only $4.00 a piece. Without knowing the cost of the necklace it's hard to say how great the dollar value is here since most of the products are under that $4.00 mark. It's kind of up to you if you think these are things you'd use to say if it's worth it. I've had good experiences with this sub, but it can be pretty hit or miss.

I found the same image from sharpshirter on Etsy but didn’t see it in necklace form.

I LOVE the sloth necklace! Sloths are one of my spirit animals (I don’t have algae growing in my hair, though). I’d love to swap for it! My user number is 29597.

Coconut oil is comedogenic and can cause breakouts in people with acne prone skin. A mask that will cause breakouts is a mask I don’t need.
I do like the sloth necklace though.

Poor King Kong sloth; it must’ve taken him forever to get to the top!

I hope someone lists that necklace for swap! Maybe there will be other versions that are just as ridiculous.

I feel like they would send out a really cool box to MSA and try to get more subscribers. After I subscribed a while back when boxes were really nice for the most part but it went down hill and I haven’t missed them. I do like seeing reviews of this though because you never know what they will put in the box and I too get a good laugh.
I always had a hard time using any beauty products from them just like you said. I like trying new items but just not from this company. I’m sure they are fine but they scare me a little. Just like some of the products sold at the dollar store.

I laughed so hard when I seen the necklace of the King Kong Sloth. Who thinks of these things. I think it will look nice on ya Marne! Lol Lol Lol 🤣
