Pampered Teacher October 2018 Review

This is the information card that came in our box. It is such a pretty design with a great quote on the front. The back lists all of the items and gives a little description which I always find to be helpful! This month's theme is Breast Cancer Awareness and I love that even the sizzle paper is pink - it made for a nice presentation.

Pink Ribbon Lanyard - Estimated Value $5.75  (I linked to a similar lanyard since this is not branded)

This was a great start to our theme. The design is cute and subtle enough to go with any outfit. Most teachers I know definitely use lanyards for their badges, so it is a useful item as well. This is a very basic lanyard, but should be appreciated by almost anyone with a set of keys or badge that they have to carry daily!

Paper Crane Silver Necklace - Estimated Value $11 (based on a similar necklace found here)

This paper crane has a beautiful sentiment behind it as the origami crane is a symbol of healing. That makes this a pretty special piece to me and I appreciate both the simplicity and subtlety of this design.

Here is a closeup of the crane and what the necklace looks like on. Sweet and simple! This is also a good necklace for a teacher as it isn't long and dangling or bulky so it won't get in the way throughout the day!

Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies - Buy 12 packs for $11.61

Every teacher deserves a sweet treat to use as a pick me up for that inevitable after lunch slump or just something good to look forward to at planning time! These cookies are the perfect snack.

Expo Chisel Point Dry Erase Markers in Black (2) - Buy 12 for $9.68

Foam Apple Eraser - Buy 12 for $20.70

As a former teacher, I know you can never have enough dry erase markers and if you're anything like I was, you're probably constantly looking for your eraser somewhere in your classroom. This cute little apple is magnetic, so not only will you not lose it, but it will also look cute on your board!

In the Shower Breast Health Guide

This handy guide is great for any woman to have. I know I could definitely use a reminder and this one is great with the punch out design at the bottom! This card has a nice waxy coating on it so you can slip it over your shower head for a simple reminder each time you shower.

Scotch Essentials Accessory Tape Circles (25 count) - Retail Value $7.37

These are an item I've never heard of before, but I definitely think they will be one of those things I'll be happy to have on hand at some point!

Natural Pure Honest Pink Ribbon Soap - Estimated Value $6 (I linked to a similar bar on the site)

How pretty is this soap? It looks like it was made exclusively for this box, which is always nice! It smells mostly like lavender to me, but I think I can also pick up a bit of the almond oil in it. I love that it's handmade and from a small business. This soap's design was another subtle, but great way to keep with this month's theme.

Verdict: This was my first time receiving a box from Pampered Teacher and I really enjoyed the thoughtful mix of items to go with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month theme. The paper crane necklace was especially sweet and I think the rest of the items were all useful for a teacher. This is something that I really would have appreciated as a teacher and I think it was the right mix of items to support teachers both in the classroom as well as personally. Teacher burnouts do happen and some days it's tough to find encouragement, but this box would definitely be a great pick-me-up! I estimate the total value to be about $34 which is just under the $34.95 (including free shipping) cost of the box, but I did have to estimate on a lot of my values though, so overall, I'd still say it was a good value for what we received.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I’m not a teacher but I do homeschool my son. And this is a hard pass. I feel like even though it’s even advertised as a pamper box, I would like to see more items helpful for a teacher but would be appropriate across all grades. And then add a couple of pamper items. If they continue like this, they won’t last in the sub box world.

I’m a teacher and this box seems very overpriced for the items- I think it should be a 10.00 box with the items shown. I would never buy it for the current price!

This is $35?
If you want to treat your educators, I think they would prefer a sephora/amazon/starbucks card more than this. Get a $25 one and a fancy chocolate bar or other treat and I think your teacher will be just as happy, if not more so.

Umm, no. How does receiving markers and an eraser and a bar of soap equate to feeling pampered as an educator? The box had very little retail value. The lanyard, cookies, andjust about everything but the artisan soap, necklace and scotch accessory tape is stuff that can be found in the promo bin that the school nurse receives in a high school.
Great overall review. This box has a nice concept but poor execution.
Hopefully next month will be better. This can make a good Xmas gift for an elementary school teacher.

I feel like this box symbolizes being a teacher perfectly, as in we are not valued.

LOL!

I agree. I’m not a teacher but this seems empty for $35.
