KoKoStyle is a monthly K-Beauty subscription box from KoKoBox. Each box comes with 2-3 full-size products and also includes a variety of samples/goodies to give you a taste of what’s popular in Korea right now. They cover a wide range of different beauty products, including makeup, skincare, haircare, and body care.

The Cost: $29.99 + free shipping. Save more with a longer subscription!

The Products: A mix of full size and sample size items ranging from makeup, skincare, haircare, and body care.

Ships to: Worldwide; ships from Seoul

Good to Know: This box will occasionally include skin tone specific makeup like BB creams and foundation, so when you subscribe you choose between light beige and dark beige. However, KoKoStyle acknowledges that doesn't work for everyone:

“Korean makeup can be quite limited for darker skin tones. If you use a darker foundation, please send us a message and we will put an alternative item of the same value in your box.”

This box comes with an info sheet with instructions (in English!) on how to use the products. I always appreciate the English descriptions, especially on a box that ships directly from Korea containing products with few to none English instructions.

Half Moon Eyes The Pink Fruity Wash Off Mask – Retail Value $3.50 (found here for $1.99)

Dragon fruit is such a fun fruit, and this is the first mask I have tried that is made with dragon fruit extract! I applied this and left it on for 10 minutes, and when I went to remove it I was really happy with how easy it was to wash off—I hate when I have to scrub to get off masks! This left my face refreshed and clean, and it was a perfect pick me up to my tired skin.

Cellnco Chic Pastel Blush in Tonight Rose, Full-Size!

This was the only item from this month’s box that I couldn’t find online, but I can tell that this blush is of a high quality! It reminds me of a slightly darker version of NARS Orgasm Blush thanks to the fine micro glitter, and it is buildable to be the perfect amount of blush for everyone

KoKoStyle October 2018 - Kim & Choo Out Of Seoul Peeling Gel FrontKoKoStyle October 2018 - Kim & Choo Out Of Seoul Peeling Gel Back

Kim & Choo Out Of Seoul Peeling Gel, Full-Size! Retail Value $33.09 (found here for $17.20)

I love the idea of peeling gels, but they usually add too many steps to my skincare routine because they need to be used on both clean and dry skin, and I prefer to do all of my exfoliating in the shower without having to dry off. This peeling gel is supposed to be used on wet skin, and it actually works! After using this in the shower, concentrating on places that are extra oily, when I looked in the mirror after using the blackheads on my nose were significantly decreased and my entire face was softer without being irritated. This is made with aloe, lemongrass, broccoli, avocado, kiwi, and tangerine, so it really treats your skin to some superfoods while gently exfoliating.

Peripera Blur Pang Whip BB Cream, Full-Size! Retail Value $18

This whipped BB cream is designed to blend seamlessly into your face while blurring skin imperfections and providing SPF 30 sun protection. I love the idea of this, but unfortunately, my shade is a bit too dark for my skin! I think I could mix this with a touch of moisturizer to lighten it up, as it really is comfortable to wear and I love that it has SPF in it.

KoKoStyle October 2018 - Swatch Top

Here it is swatched below the blush. I did a line of the BB cream unblended and then tried to blend in some below.

Verdict: KoKoStyle is one of my favorite monthly K-Beauty boxes—they always do a great job of including full-size skincare options, and I always feel like you get a good deal for the price you pay. I also really enjoyed trying the wash off mask compared to the standard sheet mask, and it was fun to mix it up. While I think the blush is of high quality, I couldn’t find a value on it. The value of the other three items adds up to $54.59, which I think is an awesome deal, especially considering how much I love that peeling gel!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, the next box you will receive is November's.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $29.99 + free shipping, which means that each of the4 items in the box has an average cost of $7.50.

I think there are different boxes at different prices. I pay 49.99 but I get a lot of products in my box

Rebecca

Again I got more stuff in my box then you did Jessica. Are there different subscriptions?

Good question, Rebecca! I think it was you who pointed this out last month, correct? What I see here does not impress me for $30 a month. The other Korean boxes at that price point include more products. This review doesn’t say whether it’s paid for by MSA or sent to them for free. I’m just wondering if they’re shorting you because you’re not a paying customer and despite this being a continuing issue, your reviews are still super positive. Usually the reviewers get boxes equal to or even better than the rest of us. I hope they fix this issue as I would love to see ALL the products each month to see if it’s worth subscribing to.

Hi DG!
MSA paid for this box. I’ll reach out and see if we can get an explanation.

Jessica Hapak

I’m not sure! Are you talking about your box on social media at all? I know doing that gives you more products.
