I really miss my onyx box. these other boxes just don’t compare when it comes to products that look great on my deep chocolate skin.

Im beyond crushed about the OnyxBox, It was my first and favorite box for women of color. BrownSugar is the only other one that is comparable ,to me. Im not too impressed with Cocotique or ZaaBox.

This is super upsetting. Onyx Box is easily my favorite subscription box. It’s one of the few that actually catered to black women instead of just considering us an afterthought. They had great curation that tended to be ahead of the trends rather than catching up.

This is truly a shame 🙁

Sad to hear this even though my subscription was on hiatus.
I really enjoyed the boxes that I did get. Might look into purchasing some past boxes since I haven’t gotten one in several months.

So sad…seriously feeling really sad. I absolutely LOVE my ONYXbox sub! One of the few subs out there that cater to WOC (women of color). First Essense box…now ONYX! If I lose Cocotique, Brown Sugar, Exterior Indulgence,
and/or CurlBox…don’t even want to think about it! The deebil is a liar!

I’m crushed. I’m a new subscriber. I loved the September box and I’m looking forward to the October box. I’m not interested in COCOTIQUE. I’m starting to lose my interest in subscription boxes in general.

Here’s what’s in the final ONYX box:

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
Glossier Cloud Paint
Iman Perfect Eye Pencil (Jet Black or Nutbush)
Shea Moisture African Black Soap Soothing Body Wash or 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Body Wash
Marajo Haircare Deep Treatment Butter Wash Hydrator

Oh no! I was about to resubscribe to this box (I wasn’t currently subscribed), but now I can’t because it’s been discontinued. What a bummer. It was a good box too.

I loved the box. I could usually use each item in the box. The problem is that the box value was really starting to decrease. September box was awful. The value was not even $45 dollars which is low for a $25 box that promises a value of at least $60. I also had a repeat item I received a few boxes ago.

Awwwww. I’ve subscribed on and off since this box started. Sad to see another great box end.

That’s too bad. While I’m not currently subscribed, I have had subscriptions (monthly, 6-month, and annual) in the past few years, and I always did enjoy this box, and their customer service was fabulous. It’s so sad to see another WOC box shutdown. I hope Cocotique isn’t next, and it’ll be around for a while longer.

I loved my Onyx boxes! I’d rather Cocotique discontinue than Onyx!

I’ve been wondering recently if Cocotique was on its way out. Only because they’ve been having a ton of sales on their subscriptions lately, and seem to always be discounting their past boxes. Even though I don’t sub to them right now, I would be sad to see them end. Also, I loved their packaging when I subbed! I always thought they had one of the best unboxing experiences from all of the subs I’ve tried. 🙂

I agree with you right there. I too hope that Cocotique isn’t the next to go, since to me their boxes were better than Ipsy, Sephora Play and Birchbox combined. Like this box, the items in Cocotique’s boxes were more useful than what I would get from Ipsy, Sephora Play and Birchbox. I’m sad to see this box go.

Just like Onyx Box, I’ve had many different subscriptions to Cocotique over the past few years, and what I always loved about them (but could also be their downfall) was that while I was subscribed, they always seemed to me like an under the radar box. I noticed they would feature quite a few products & brands that were on no ones radar, including other mainstream beauty boxes. Then like 3 to 6 months later larger beauty boxes would feature the items, or they’d start to sell in Sephora. Basically, I had always felt that Cocotique was a bit ahead of the game in terms of product discovery. I’m not so sure now though since I haven’t been subbed for a while.

Thats sad. June box was fabulous
