Ecocentric Mom October 2018 Review

We received this little card that includes a link to this page where we can filter by age to see the products from our box. This is great to check out if you are considering this subscription as you can see what items you might receive in another age group.

Ah Goo Baby Kneekers in Periwinkle-Lime Fizz - Retail Value $14.95

These Kneekers were the first thing I saw when I opened the box and I was so excited to see them! Bennett is just starting to really want to get down on the floor and play and ends up on his belly most of the time so the rubber pads at the knees will protect them and maybe even encourage him to start crawling. I love that they recommend using them when baby starts to walk too to help protect them if they fall. The elastic is stretchy, although it felt a little tight trying to get it over his legs, but it looks like they offer two sizes "lean" or "chunkalicious" and he might just be in the latter category at the moment. These look really cute on him and are machine washable, so these are a win!

Ecocentric Mom Fleece Cozy Baby Booties with Snaps in 6-12 months - Retail Value $19.99

These gray booties are really nice featuring an organic cotton lining with fleece on the outside and cute heart-shaped grippers on the bottom to prevent slipping. What I love about them is how you put them on by opening them wide to slip their foot in and then they have two separate snaps so you can adjust them to the appropriate size.

They are super cozy looking and fit his feet ankle and snug so I know if we are out somewhere, his little feet will stay warm and I won't be worried about them falling off like other socks or shoes tend to!

Hyland Baby Oral Pain Relief Tablets, 125 count – Retail Value $9.49

I don't know about your kids, but I feel like mine teethes for months before they show any signs of actual teeth! Bennett has been chomping hard on his toys and drooling excessively, all signs point to teething, but no teeth yet. I know they are coming though and when they do, these little tablets will come in handy! I love that they are a natural pain reliever and I'm hoping they are easier to apply than the gel we have used with the other kids.

Spooky Pookie by Sandra Boynton - Retail Value $5.94

We love Sandra Boynton in our house and own many of her books already, including this one. Spooky Pookie is about a pig who is trying to choose a Halloween costume and it is one of our favorite Halloween books (along with Eek! Halloween - a must read!).  It is such a classic that I'm excited to pass it along to a friend who can enjoy it as much as we do!

Jaiden Madison Natural Conditioning Lip Creme Treatment in Ladylike - Retail Value $20

Our first item strictly for mom is this lip creme and I love that they also included some information about the brand, which is a mom-owned business. This formula is made with lanolin, cocoa butter, matcha green tea butter and other natural ingredients you can feel good about using!

Here is a closeup, a swatch and me wearing the lip creme. I'd say it feels like a thicker, tinted lip gloss- you actually are supposed to pump it a bit to soften it before applying. It is a very flattering shade with just a tiny bit of shimmer and as of now, it is already in my purse ready to wear as needed!

Fine & Raw Chocolate Bar (1 oz) in Lacuma and Vanilla - Retail Value $8.50

The last goodie in this box was a chocolate bar. It might be the prettiest chocolate bar I've ever eaten, although not quite the most delicious. It is good, but it's made of 67% dark chocolate, so it's slightly bitter and only a tad sweet. It is also made with vanilla and lacuma, which is a Peruvian fruit. I like that it's handmade, organic, and made with ethically-sourced ingredients.

Verdict: I really enjoyed this month's Ecocentric Mom box. It was a little heavy on the baby items, but they were all so useful that I don't mind at all. Plus, the items for mom were just what I needed - some chocolate for a sugar fix and a nice moisturizing lip creme to freshen up with now that the weather is turning cold and dry! I also love that this was not a heavy Halloween-themed box, but that they did include a great book to give the holiday a subtle nod. As for value, I calculated a total of $78.87 which is great for a $32.99 box!

Is this box still available if I subscribe today? No. If you sign up now, your first box will be the November box.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I’m really surprised they included those teething tablets…they were recalled (check the FDA website) and the manufacturer quit making them. I’d check into them before giving them to your (really cute) baby. (Sorry if this posts twice, I included a link the first time)

Hi, the Oral Pain Relief tablets are not the same product as the previously recalled Teething Tablets. The ingredient that led to the recall is not included in this new product and these are 100% safe and NOT recalled. Specifically the ingredient was BELLADONNA and these new tablets that are not called teething tablets do not contain that. Hope that helps clear up the confusion!

Hi MrsLittle,

Thanks so much for sharing that! You know i think that was in the back of my mind since I had heard something about it at one point over the years! That’s definitely good to know and I’ll check into it for sure! Thanks!❤️

I’m really surprised they included those teething tablets…they were recalled and they’re no longer mashing them. You might want to dip some checking before giving them to your (really cute) baby.
