Daily Look Elite Box October 2018 Review

Daily Look October 2018 stylist note

Daily Look August 2018 info

Inside my box was an envelope with information, invoice, and a return bag. Inside the envelope was this letter from my stylist, Lisa. She notes a couple of the pieces sent and why they were chosen and how to style them.

Daily Look October 2018 item prices

I also received a packing slip that lists each item and the price it would cost to keep each. I received a total of 8 items this month.

Daily Look August 2018 how it works

I also received a prepaid return label, bag, and instructions. You have five days to decide what you'd like to keep or return. Once I decided, I headed over to my online account to let Daily Look Elite know which items I'd be keeping vs. returning. It also gave me the opportunity to provide feedback on what I liked and disliked.

J Brand Johnny Mid Rise Boyfit Jeans - Cost to Keep: $228

I really like these jeans! They're soft, the denim feels quality, and they fit well! They also have a really nice mid-rise that I like. They're definitely pricey, but that's kinda with the territory of the brand/quality. These boyfriends totally work as ankle jeans on me, but I really don't know if they're meant to be like that. My style profile says I need a long inseam, but I don't think Daily Look has sent me any jeans with a long/tall inseam (33"-35"). They're nice, but I'm not sure about buying summery, light wash, and ankle-length jeans at the start of Fall.

Lauren Cold Shoulder Knit Top - Cost to Keep: $58

This top is really nice! The fabric is smooth and slinky and drapes well. I like the length of the sleeves combined with the cold shoulder detail - it makes this trend Fall-friendly. This top is easy to wear, for sure.

Kaitlyn S/L Ruffle Top - Cost to Keep: $62

This top is cute and can offer a lot of versatility, but I am so sad that it's sheer. It's made with 2 layers, which you can see at the hemline here, but they're both so sheer that you can still see through it. I'd have to wear a camisole and I don't have any that would work with this neckline. And it may be a personal weird preference, but when I have to wear a camisole under a sheer shirt it just feels like it is just so many layers and clings weird and I just get uncomfortable.

Mindy High Waist Ponte Pants - Cost to Keep: $69

I was not sure how these ponte pants would work for me since they seemed small and short when I pulled them out of the box, but they have SO much stretch to them and the fabric is really, really sturdy, thick, and warm too! To be completely honest, these were just a bit of a production to get on but once they were on they never rolled or sagged or anything. They also have a nice high rise which is flattering and supportive. These are very comfortable and feel like dressy leggings!

Bella Ruffle Hem Off the Shoulder Tie Sleeve Top - Cost to Keep: $69

I own nothing like this top! It's silky, off-the-shoulder, 3/4 sleeve (with tie details), and has a small ruffle around the hem. I think it's gorgeous. I like the print and the fit. Off-the-shoulder tops are definitely out of my comfort zone but not out of my style, so this may have to be the first one I work into my wardrobe.

Sanctuary Monaco Dress - Cost to Keep: $129

This dress is feminine and romantic, but it's so summery to be sent in October! This floral fabric is beautiful, though. I also like the ruffle layer to the bodice. Off-season-ness aside, I would really consider keeping this dress but the length is just so short on me. If this were knee length or longer it'd be perfect.

Mystree Maxi Racerback Dress - Cost to Keep: $78

More floral prints! And this maxi is long enough on me! It's flowy and light and easy to wear. But unfortunately, the bust is small or the bodice is short or some combination of the two: the waist of the dress hits me way too high and honestly makes me feel like I look pregnant again. Very close, but just not quite right for me.

Dita Tulip Hem Wrap Dress - Cost to Keep: $89

I think this dress is the winner for me in this box! It's a true wrap dress, the fit is just right, and I feel very classy and put together in it. At first, I thought this would be perfect for Summer but then I thought maybe paired with tights, booties, and a bold-colored bomber jacket it could work for the Fall?

Daily Look October 2018 black wrap dress - neckline buttoned

The top also has a snap that lets you adjust the neckline. I love that feature, though the snap didn't want to stay closed very easily. I love how it looks more open, though, so that's okay.

Verdict: This was really a great Daily Look Elite box! Possibly my best one yet? The style is much more me than some of my previous boxes, and I finally got jeans that have a fit that I'm happy with and comfortable in, which I've been waiting for from them. There's some small fit issues with a couple pieces but the rest of the items I really do like a lot. This did feel like more of Summer-appropriate box, so I added some notes about looking for long jeans, sweaters, and/or some outerwear in upcoming boxes.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? You can sign up for your first month's box now, but your selections will look different than mine.

Value Breakdown: For $40 a month, I received eight styles that came to $782 in retail value. I can keep or return any of the pieces with free shipping both ways! If I do keep anything, the $40 styling fee will be deducted from my order.

I totally agree with all comments said. So strange that all were clearly Spring and Summer. Thank you for such a great review. You did have a few keepers in there but still the timing is way off.

Your stylist seems to have a thing against sleeves haha!
I’d have a problem with all the cold shoulder/off the shoulder/halter styles but you look cute as always.

The black top with flowers and the ponte pants look great on you. I am not big on the off the shoulder look, but this top makes your waist look tiny. I may have to hunt it down for myself 🙂

I agree…that outfit looks great!! It’s a little odd that most of the items seem more summer appropriate. I guess I thought these boxes were suppose to be fashion forward, not fashion from the past season. These prices are pretty steep too. I’ve purchased J brand jeans at The Rack for around $75.

The second outfit looks incredible on you! Especially the pants.

The Elite boxes are full of great items, and I love my stylist, but they seem to have changed their sourcing. My boxes have all been out of season too, and when I price check (google), I can usually find the items on clearance. Needless to say, I decided to stop this service.

You look lovely as usual. The box does seem like a spring or summer box. Seems odd considering it’s not a cheap styling fee. Guess I would expect a bit more from a box charging this much & referring to itself as “elite.”
