Bespoke Post 'Alpine' Review

The Alpine jacket is very similar to the Aviator one that Eric recently reviewed, but these are not the same jacket at all, in fact, this one might just be the most special jacket I've ever ordered because it certainly took a lot for us to finally get it to our home. I received the incorrectly sized jacket THREE times before we finally got the correct size in our hands! I'll include some info on that at the end for those who are interested in my experience.

We received some information about our jacket as well as a coupon for a free gift if you subscribe to their new Soap Box subscription.

Line of Trade Peak CPO Jacket in Navy, size M - Retail Value $55

Line of Trade is an in-house brand for Bespoke Post and is only available for purchase through their website. This jacket is meant to be part shirt, part jacket and provide a nice, yet stylish layer for the cooler months.

This jacket is in fact navy, but it is such a dark navy that even in person it is difficult to tell unless you are looking at it closely or happen to see the lining inside. I think it's kind of nice that it's so dark because it might make it more of a versatile layer for various colored outfits. I like the tortoiseshell buttons and the fact that there are two buttons on the sleeves so that you can adjust the cuffs as needed.

I really can't think of any other way to describe this other than as a jacket and a shirt. It looks just like a button up, but the outer layer is a nice thick cotton-twill blend and the jacket itself has some weight to it. My husband's only complaint is that there are no pockets on the bottom of the front like a jacket would have, but he wore it out this evening and was able to make do with the breast pockets instead.

The inside has a nice lighter navy polyester lining and there are no pockets inside either. I still think it is a perfect layer to dress up an outfit or wear on a day where you need stylish outerwear that isn't too warm. My husband wears shorts through as many seasons as he can, so a lighter weight option like this is the perfect solution for him and it makes me happy too since I'm always reminding him to bring a jacket.

The full story of this month's order and customer service experience: I ordered this for my husband as an anniversary present in a size medium and while the first package arrived in a bag marked medium, the jacket inside was a small so I immediately called customer service and was told they would send a new one right away. I received the shipping notification the next day...for a size small. I called again and they assured me they would rush a medium to my home. This arrived before the small and it said medium on the bag, but to my surprise, it was an extra large. At this point, it was almost comical, but I called again and explained the situation and they rushed it to us meaning that it arrived on our anniversary, just in the nick of time!

They sent a return label so that I could send the three incorrect jackets back (a simple USPS pickup) and also issued us a partial credit for our hassle. Each time I called I was able to get ahold of someone right away and they were friendly and resolved the situation quickly, but unfortunately, I think it was a warehouse/packaging issue that prevented us from getting the correct size each time. This was my first experience contacting customer service and I was very happy with the way they handled the situation despite all of the snafus!

Verdict: Bespoke Post is my secret weapon when it comes to gifts for my husband! I signed him up for the subscription, but I get it emailed to myself and whenever I see something that looks great or seems like his style, I order it for whatever the next special occasion is and we've both always been happy with the products. I thought this jacket would be perfect for him to dress up a casual outfit or add an extra layer of warmth on the way to work. He really likes the jacket and the quality is definitely worth the $45 cost of the box!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

Would you say the jacket runs small or large? My bf is kind of in between a large and xl

I think it’s just a smidge on the smaller side, so it depends on if your bf likes things more fitted or loose! Also if he will be layering underneath then you may want to size up? It fit my husband pretty true to size with just a thin button up underneath, but if he had added a hoodie it may have been too snug!
