The Soap Shack's The Soap Club "Surprise Me" August 2018 Review

XoXoXo Spells Love Handmade Soap Bar, 3.5 oz

XoXoXo Spells Love Handmade Soap Bar, 3.5 oz – Retail Value $6.50

This bar of soap smells so good! As soon as I opened up the box I could smell the fragrant notes of peach and white jasmine. XoXoXo was inspired by Victoria’s Secret Love Spell, and though it has been a while since I stepped into one of those stores I do think the smell is very similar. This soap was also formulated with apricot seed powder for a light exfoliation, and I am loving the gorgeous swirls of color!

Spiritual Cedarwood & Sage Handmade Soap Bar, 3.5 oz – Estimated Value $6.50

This smell is another winner. The cedarwood and sage combine to make a great unisex fragrance, and the ground sage leaf not only smells good but also adds some mild exfoliation.

The Verdict: For $12.95 a month, including free shipping, I think this is one of the better affordable bath and body subscription boxes out there! The fact that The Soap Shack only uses food-grade quality oils and butter is evident when using the soap, and I thought being surprised by the scent choices was a rather inexpensive delight (how many times are we actually surprised by items in a subscription box these days considering our need for spoilers?). The Soap Shack crew actually had to recently evacuate due to the California wildfires coming too close to where they reside, and I am impressed that the company still presented a great box with the same great quality. One thing I noticed when I opened up the box was how good the two bars of soap smelled together. Would it be weird to use two bars at the same time in the shower?

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? I believe if you will start with September, but the Xoxoxo bar is available for purchase from their website!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $12.95 and I received two bars of soap. It is essentially like getting the cost of shipping for free by subscribing!

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Why aren’t their labels pointed out? They are seeded and can be planted. Seems a pretty important eco-friendly feature to highlight in the review….right up there with “gorgeous swirls of color”.
