Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you initially sign up, you take an in-depth survey that asks you about your clothing size, personal style, and price preferences. They also ask you a few questions about your pregnancy such as due date and how you like to style your bump. Your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences within the survey. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping as well as free returns. If you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!
FYI – My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

Stitch Fix Maternity Clothing Box September 2018 Review
Each box comes with a free return bag. All you have to do is package up anything you want to return and send it back. Super easy!
This is the invoice that was sent in the box. As you can see, it provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $366, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $254.50. That’s a savings of $111.50 on these items!
This is the included style sheet which includes a note from my stylist. This is always super helpful to see how you can use each piece in a full outfit! I am almost 9 months pregnant, chasing around an active toddler, so I need easy pieces that still make me feel fashionable. Let's see what Stitch Fix sent!
LUX & Co Reginy Maternity Hi Lo Knit Dress, Size L - Cost to Keep $58
Oh my, I love this dress! I had made a note for my stylist that I was looking for a dress to wear out for a birthday dinner with my husband. Sadly, my first box from September only contained two maternity styles, but after speaking to Customer Service they were able to send me a new box for this month after I returned the first one. That being said, this box did not come in time for my birthday dinner date night. If it had though, I would absolutely have bought this dress! It has spandex so there is a ton of stretch, and the faux wrap style gives me a bit more shape on my almost 9-month belly. The pattern is absolutely stunning and made me feel very special. If you are pregnant and in need of a slightly dressier style, ask your stylist for this one, you will not regret it!
Liverpool Kolten Cropped Denim Jacket, Size L - Cost to Keep $98
I am a little bummed to be receiving a denim jacket since I received one last month and noted that I returned it because I do not need one. I did like the darker wash on this style and it provided a ton of stretch that made it easy to move in (thank you spandex blend fabric). I didn't love that it didn't have pockets at the waist though as I like have a spot to quickly place my phone when I am out and about with my son in case I want to quickly snap a photo of him being silly.
Loveappella Greta Knit Ruched Maternity Dress, Size L - Cost to Keep $68
This cut was similar to a dress I received last month as well, and like that one this was a bit too tight on my growing bump. I think this is the type of style that I would wear a ton at the beginning of my pregnancy, but right now I think I would need a size XL to feel a bit more comfortable. The fabric was a polyester blend, but it felt very thick and somewhat restricting (most likely due to the size being off). I do love that it is a basic and the stripes would have been perfect to take me from summer into the fall.
Market & Spruce Alma Long Sleeve Maternity Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $44
I really wanted to love this top as I do need something for the next few weeks to wear in case it ever gets cold (it is currently still very hot and humid here in the Burgh). The quality is just not there for me with this top. It is another polyester blend, but it felt extremely itchy. It was also very light which caused it to be rather sheer at the bust. The fit and length were great, but I don't think I could justify the price for the quality.
Mavi Colette Maternity Skinny Jean, Size 14 - Cost to Keep $98
Another style that was just way too tight! All of my jeans are this size right now and fit so I wonder if maybe these run a bit on the smaller side because these were a struggle to get on. The band didn't feel very sturdy, it was actually very thin and I was worried the seams would split on me. Since these were harder to get over my legs, the waist sat very low right where it is currently very uncomfortable to have pants sitting since my belly is slowly dropping. I did like the wash of the jeans, but I think these needed a bit more stretch to really make them a solid maternity jean option.
The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix was an improvement, but the styles felt very similar to what I received last month. Sizing was also a bit of an issue again which makes me wonder if these brands run on the smaller side since I am not running into this issue when shopping at other maternity stores. I really wanted to keep the floral dress and wish so badly that it had come in time for my birthday, it was so beautiful and I will think of it often! I wish the knit top was a bit nicer quality as I really am in need of a warmer top, but I did enjoy the fit and style. All in all, I think Stitch Fix Maternity set me up this pregnancy with a few key pieces over the past 9 months so even if each box wasn't always a win, it was fun trying on new styles that I might not be able to easily find for myself at the mall.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $366. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $254.50. That’s a discount of around 30% for these items!
