Peaches and Petals August 2018 Box Review

Bubble Light Box - Retail Value $19.98

I love little gadgets like this one, and I especially love small, battery-operated lamps. They’re just a nice thing to have in a few places around the house, just to leave a light on for yourself if you know you’ll be back later at night. This is particularly fun since you can doodle or write yourself a quick note right on it - I think my husband and I will have fun leaving little notes for each other! It’s so cool that this came with not just one, but three markers in different colors.

Kiss My Face 2n1 Lavender Moisturizing Spray - Retail Value $9.99 (currently only available for sale here)

I was so excited to see such a full-sized product in this box! I love lavender, but I was surprised upon first spray that the scent is really strong right as it’s applied! Thankfully, the smell doesn’t stay super-intense for very long, but rather, it dissipates and leaves just a faint lavender scent I can only detect when it’s right under my nose (excuse me, everyone, while I sniff my forearms like a weirdo). The lotion absorbs quickly and didn’t feel greasy on my hands, and instantly made my skin soft. It’s absolutely perfect for me to keep in the bathroom and do a quick spray on each leg after shaving. Hello, gorgeously-hydrated gams!

Coloring Journal

Coloring Journal - Estimated Value $6.99 (based on similar product)

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve received a coloring book, and I thought that this format was very interesting! I used to journal like a fiend as a teenager, but I got away from it as an adult. This might actually encourage me to write down some thoughts every night, and when my days get mega-stressful, I can just color for a bit instead.

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm, Caramel Daisy - Retail Value $4.79

Another name-brand product! I love Burt’s Bees as a rule, but I find their lip balms to be among my favorite lip products. I don’t usually go for the tinted stuff, so this pleasingly gets me out of my comfort zone - especially the brown color, which I never normally wear! This was smooth to apply and while the tint is subtle, there is a slight difference. It could be my imagination (or the power of suggestion from the color), but I almost detect a sweet, cinnamon-y smell from it, too!

Verdict: I was really impressed with the overall value of this Peaches and Petals box, to be honest! The retail value of the bubble light alone was worth the $19.99 cost of the box (including free shipping), and when you add in the other three items, two of which were name-brand, it added up to a fantastic bang for the buck in my opinion. I was introduced to a new delivery method of lotion with the Kiss My Face product, I will always be able to use lip balm, and the lamp and journal will fit seamlessly into my home.

August’s box, which showed up in September, was my first. I was very disappointed. If September’s box, which still hasn’t shipped and will probably arrive in October, is as bad as August’s I am cancelling. Total disappointment! Not sure how they have any subscribers

This was my first and last box with them. I was really excited for it to come after last month’s review. When I opened this I felt like it was all grab a bag for $1 swap meet junk.

These boxes used to be amazing. But this is kind of just like Mystery Box of Awesome that they own. They would have a nice box but then 3 that didn’t.
