I received an email that gave 2 of the items from the September box…
Spoilers below…

The September box includes: Light My Fire’s Grandpa’s Fire-fork and MoraKniv’s Companion knife plus 3 additional items.

Yep! I just got my box and they were both in it.

Items are:
Light my Grandfather’s Fire Campfire Fork (Not sure MSRP but Amazon has them for $6.98) – Looks pretty useful for campfire cookouts! I’m kind of tempted to get more of these as they make way more sense than lugging around lots of long skewers!

GSI Outdoors Pack Spatula (not sure MSRP but they seem to be sold on many sites for about $3.95)
It’s like a mini-spatula that can withstand very high heat. Lightweight – looks like a perfect camp tool and much better than lugging spatulas from the house!

Human Gear GoCup (RV $12.99)
This is a collapsible silicon cup, so good for camping/travel/hiking. It also has a couple compartments it looks like for pills or tiny items, so might also be useful as a travel cup for people on meds.

Mountain House Breakfast Skillet (RV $8.99, though you can get 6 for $42 on Amazon.)
Normally my husband and I lug supplies to make a breakfast like this on camping trips anyway (eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, peppers, onions) – so I’m pretty happy with this.

Morakniv Companion Fixed-Blade knife (Rv $20? It’s on Campmor for about $16.98)
Looks like a good knife for a kitchen kit. I actually really like that it’s fixed blade and has a nice bright safety sheath – this is the sort of knife I’d prefer to prep food with for camping.)

It looks like total RV is around $48-$53. I was pretty impressed, actually. The curation made sense, items were functional and not dupes of stuff my husband has (well, he does have a lot of knives, though most are folding) There was even a bit of a color scheme going on – black and neon. Even if the box isn’t high value over cost (at least at the monthly level) it definitely did feel worth it in terms of items received.

(I also got my bonus Gobi Sack, very cool!)

Sounds a lot like cairn subscription items from a few years ago.

Too bad I can’t use both coupons, lol. Nomadik doesn’t seem to be a high value over box cost, but generally looks to have good curation. My husband likes camping and hiking but I don’t really know enough to pick out what he would like. He’s been contemplating getting more cooking gear though, so the theme looks good!

Yes – the value isn’t the greatest (actually can be really bad if you don’t like an item) but the curation is usually good. Nomadik and Cairn boxes generally provide us with newer/better versions of stuff we already had. If a person goes hiking/camping once they probably have most their gear already but these are nice to supplement our stockpile.

Just got this, but didn’t realize until they sent me my info email that they charged shipping as well. This brings box cost up to about $38 dollars. (Though I went with the GOBI coupon which is a very nice sign up bonus!) I suppose one could save more by longer commitments (and their return policy is amazing on items you don’t like or already have) but it really does seem to be a box about curation and not value. Is there a minimum retail for the boxes?

This sub is similar to Cairn. The value is about +/- $50 each month. The best deal I’ve found for Nomadik is to get an annual sub, which comes with free shipping, when they offer a 30% off coupon ($252 total). This works out to $21/month which is a very good value IMO.
