Luxor Box has a Limited Edition Black Box available now! Plus, we have a spoiler!

Each Limited Edition Box will include:

Black Box - Limited Edition will have a retail value of OVER $2,300. Each Luxor BLACK 2018 Limited Edition Box will include the La Soula Jewelry necklace retailing at $800.

La Soula Jewelry is an affordable, luxury diamond line, created by Kimberly DeTomasis Meehan, born and raised in Providence Rhode Island. She now lives at her home in Fairfield Ct with her children and a bustling diamond jewelry line to create! “La Soula” comes from “The Soul” of Kim, a place that recognizes the silver linings of life that reflects in all of her daily work. Kim comes from the fashion world as being a small boutique buyer for her own E-Commerce boutique, with a concentration on the garment and accessory staples that pull a woman together for the everyday comfort, but CHIC lifestyle.

The La Soula Jewelry line was then created with the same thought process in mind of comfort marries chic for an effortless beauty and often thought of as “the everyday diamond line”. Each collection was designed to become the jewelry wardrobe essentials. The MUST HAVES. The FAVORITES. The GO TO pieces! The ones you wear...everyday.

They have posted the second spoiler and it is not any better. I think they will have a large amount of these boxes left over. Has anyone jumped on this box? Just curious.

Carol

Anyone know why the September Luxor boxes haven’t shipped yet?

Reply ButtonReply

Tanya M.

There web site says shipping next week. So maybe we get them in October… lol

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

Did they give an explanation as to why the summer box is shipping late?

Beth

Why do so many say, “Hard Pass”? It use to be, “Easy Pass”! Sorry guys just want to know…:)

Is that photo supposed to entice me to buy the box? That is a terrible photo Luxor Box.
Not that I’d give you any more money after the “special” travel box fiasco.

I like the necklace but not enough to jump on this $700 box. I will see if the next spoiler puts me over the edge.

How I wish the forum were still around just to see the comments about this box. I’m shocked La Soula is in the Black Box. It’s a pretty necklace, but for $800, it should be real white gold and real diamonds. And not La Soula. I’ve been looking forward to this box for months (even messaged Luxor Box to ask if they were making one; no response) and this isn’t off to a great start….

I know I have been out of touch for a while but what happened to the forum?

Reply ButtonReply

MirM

Concur. If the value of this piece is supposed to be in the design and not the metal, La Soula doesn’t cut it.

Tanya M

I wish list. This would kill my sub box budget completely!!! No more spoilers for September box. This will be actual surprise as I see they are truly close mouthed about contents of regular September box. I guess this will be another year for me to have major Liz envy when she shares this special edition black box goodies. I will have to live vicariously. 🙂

Something about that necklace seems overpriced, maybe the lack of diamonds or size but seeing as it’s more than 1/4 of the box retail, this is a hugely inflated gamble.

Reply ButtonReply

Alexis

I saw that it’s being sold for $438 on the lasoula website

Reply ButtonReply

laurie

I saw the same thing and emailed Luxor Box. Below is their response which is kind of odd to me…

We’ve checked with La Soula and that’s an error on their site and not the correct necklace anyways.

Sunny

Thinking the same thing. Just browsed the website and the closest necklace in similarity runs $350. Not sure where the heck these hyper-inflated RV are coming from. Hard pass.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

That necklace is not my style. And given that it makes up a third of the RV for this box, it’s not looking good…

$700? They have to do better with this box. Next ?

About As-Is: I ordered a Brandon Blackwood bucket bag from Luxor a few years ago for $440 that had a retail value of $1000 and was custom made. It was nice, but the steel clasp holding on the shoulder strap broke after a month of normal use. I contacted Luxor and they did the as-is, can’t refund thing and told me to contact Brandon Blackwood. I did and BB said because it was custom they didn’t refund and didn’t do repairs. So I took it to a luxe repair shop. They couldn’t find matching hardware, so offered to redo all hardware in new design for $300. Um, no. So, I spent $440 on a purse I used for a month. All the NOPES on this box!! I do like their sub box, but no longer spend this kind of money. If it sounds too good to be true…it probably is.

Gloria

Comment reminds me of the Shopaholic movie!

Reply ButtonReply

MirM

LaSpula is not a brand I’d associate with a ‘black’ or ‘luxe’ label.

And this black box is a “mystery” box, too, with varied contents? Hard no for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Boxes are sold ‘As-Is’? I don’t think I would ever drop $700 on an as-is box. Good return policies and customer service are becoming necessities for me determining what boxes to get and what companies to skip! They do mention in terms that they will try to replace or offer comparable products for items that come damaged, so long as you email within three days, their terms make it clear that they are basically exempting themselves from any liability or standard of honesty/quality/truthfulness, etc.

Hi Jennifer,
Those were terms for their last Mystery Box, not this Limited Edition box. Sorry about that mix up! The current terms and conditions for Luxor Box are now linked in the post. Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

fitnessinfonow

The wrong terms were listed here and now they are removed. The had old “inventory closeout mystery box” terms listed here which stated boxes sold “as is” but not the case with the Black Box. I reached out to Luxor and this was confirmed. The correct terms are posted on the Black Box sale page.

WOW! This sub is way too expensive for me anyway but after reading the post and your comments, there’s no way I would subscribe even if I was rich. How do you get $700 from people and not guarantee the quality, function, condition or even what type of product you get??? That’s just nuts. I’d much rather spend money on a quality handbag or piece of jewelry that has a warranty.

Reply ButtonReply

JL

I am laughing about the $700.00 price tag. No way. Just no way would I EVER pay this kind of money to Luxor after the “travel” box debacle. Their response was beyond awful and the promised “travel” certificate wasn’t even worth the paper it was printed on.

Is the necklace really sterling silver? I’ve never known anyone to pay $800.00 for a silver necklace. You can get a gorgeous sterling silver piece at Tiffany for much less than that!

Please people, I implore you, save your money and use your hard-earned $700.00 to go out and buy something (or a few things) that you really love.

I wonder if they will include a travel voucher in this box and value the voucher it at $800.00?

Fool me once Luxor, shame on you. You won’t have the opportunity to fool me again.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

Sorry but if you would have investigated you would have known the travel certs were typical bs no matter what they told MSA. I was surprised how many people thought they were easily redeemable. They would never tell a blog what bs they were!

Reply ButtonReply

MirM

FYI, the issue with these certificates that most people had was not that it was not “easily redeemable;” conditions were announced by Luxor and MSA before purchase. The actual issues were:
1. Some material conditions were not disclosed until after the individual sent a nonrefundable deposit; and
2. Some of those conditions invalidated the promised value of the certificate (e.g., the certificate could not be used to fly to all of the destinations listed on the certificate, despite that being a large part of the apparent value of the certificate).

If the Luxor/the certificate company had announced all of material conditions before purchase, consumers could have accurately gauged the value of the certificate. All subscription purchases are based on consumers relying on the company’s description to determine value of the box; when the company doesn’t accurately describe what they’ve included, or send less than promised, it’s not the consumer’s fault.

Sending a sketchy certificate in a “luxury” box reflects badly on Luxor, so people bringing that up when Luxor makes a new promise of $X value seems like completely reasonable and anticipated blowback for Luxor.

I can’t find this necklace on their website? I’m wondering how many carats in diamonds this necklace contains? Also.. Are these mined diamonds are man made? Huge difference. For the price of this box, they should include more details.

It was mentioned on their website, just not in the same place Liz grabbed the text from.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

If it’s like the La Baguette necklace but with ~half the diamonds, then it might be around .19 or .20 karats? I have no idea where they get or make diamonds, but it would be nice to have more info on that as well as color, clarity, cut, etc. I get that they are supposed to have more of a handmade look than a fine jewelry look, but since Luxor’s terms sell everything ‘as-is’ it would be disheartening to receive a poorly set or discolored piece but be unable to replace it since it wasn’t technically ‘damaged.’

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

The necklace that I see on the website is $438. Is the Luxor necklace a special edition (larger stones or something) specific for this box?

Reply ButtonReply

CiCi

Shows the same diamond weight on the spoiler and the website and I can’t imagine there is 300.00 more silver in the necklace, so something is fishy!

Reply ButtonReply

Rie

Yep. I received an email with a picture of a woman wearing this necklace, and it is TINY. Like, not much bigger than 2 tic tacs, and I’m not kidding. Maybe the size of 2 pencil erasers, one on top of the other. (The eraser attached to the top of a pencil.)

h

Sterling silver. And pave diamonds. Meh

Reply ButtonReply

Em

Yeah, I don’t think so. is this necklace at the very least sterling silver? Or plate?
Because I think I can get something similar in the $100-200 range that will sparkle just as much and not break the bank.
So far, hard pass.

Reply ButtonReply

Claudia

I don’t like the “as is” disclaimer! So if once of your items is defective they take no responsibility!

Reply ButtonReply

MSA

Those were terms for their last Mystery Box, not this Limited Edition box. Sorry about that mix up! The current terms and conditions for Luxor Box are now linked in the post. Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

In the past, I had a defective item from Luxor. They sent me a return label for the item and replaced it. It was pretty easy and they were good about making it right.

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

They also don’t take responsibility for lost packages. I’m sorry, but before I even consider spending that much money for a box, you’re going to have to give me more reassurance than a, “too bad, so sad” if my box never arrives on my doorstep.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

My previous jewelry from this brand has not stood up to regular use. The finish is coming off and looks dingy and cheap.

Reply ButtonReply

Janie

I had the same thing happen. The rings I received from them in a Rachel Zoe box, the finish came off in 3 days. Ridiculous. I am happy that this box is a hard no for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Allison

Ooooh, this spoiler bums me out. After getting dud La Soula rings in the Zoe box, I think VERY little of this brand. :/

The last Black box, we got two spoilers. So I’m hoping they will release another one (preferably non-jewelry). Maybe it could still be worth it!

Reply ButtonReply

KERRY ANDERSEN

I agree!! I thought those rings were garbage.. not even wearable for someone with normal size fingers, lol. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who thought that! I didn’t even sign up for Box of Style this time.. value just not there!

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

Agreed. The metal tarnished quickly, whatever “gold tone” the rings were made out of.

Ellen

I can’t find this necklace on LaSoula website. Is it a special edition created for this box? Looks nice, but would like more details on this peice.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

The most similar necklace on their website, the Large Baguette, sells for $580 and looks larger. While this is a pretty necklace, I’d need more spoilers to drop $700!
