CHC Vintage Accessories August 2018 Review
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and the handy styling tips that were included.
Glamorous Pony Bead Vintage Bag - Retail Value Unavailable
Holy smokes! This may be the most unique vintage piece that CHC Vintage Accessories has sent me! I love the tortoise shell bakelite-eqsue lid, the unique geometric shape, and the oil slick color of the pony beads that make up the bag and the handle. This piece is a definite conversation starter and statement piece. Pack lightly and be gentle with this one, this is a special occasions bag dating back to the 60s that you should only have cards, a key, and a lipstick in. I can’t wait to use this during the holiday season with my blue velvet Eloquii dress I treasure.
On a Dime Necklace - Retail Value Unavailable
This is the first of two coin themed pieces in this month’s CHC Vintage Accessories box. This necklace is the more delicate of the gold pieces. It has an ill-proportioned figure eight like pendant that holds the 1971 Dime. I styled both gold pieces with a golden yellow top from my most recent Stitch Fix box (review coming soon!)
Gold Coin Charm Bracelet - Retail Value Unavailable
Here is the second coin themed piece: a gorgeous, gold coin charm bracelet. I have always been fond of charm bracelets. I think it dates back to being a little girl. My grandfather on my mom’s side collected charms for me to be put on when I got older. I would always eye them up. The charms would be pieces he found on travels in souvenir shops. I love the sentimentality of collecting charms to create a tapestry of memories in the form of a bracelet. I especially have found myself drawn to charm bracelets of the 50s and 60s. This costume jewelry piece has gold-plated coins that have weight and substance to them; this is not a flimsy piece whatsoever. This item would look great worn with the coordinating necklace or alone. Style this bracelet with an end of summer romper and gold embellished sandals!
Lion King Earrings - Retail Value Unavailable
I immediately thought of the Lion King musical logo when I saw these earrings. Nicole and her crew know I love anything having to do with fierce kitties like lions, tigers, and leopards—OH MY! I also love gold anything, so these statement earrings were right up my alley! I styled these earrings with other gold pieces and a simple, yet elegant white top and black crop pants for my latest Trunk Club review. An awesome pair like these will certainly add a touch of glamour to even the most casual outfit!
Angela Bower Swirl Button Earrings - Retail Value Unavailable
I remember as a young girl sifting through my grandma’s costume jewelry, and she always had great Monet brand pieces. These certainly could have been a pair in her jewelry box in the 80s or 90s. I love a good button style post earring, but what I truly appreciate about these earrings is the hinge closure in the back. Oh my goodness! It is so hard for me to put earring backs on with claws like mine, so you better believe I squealed with joy seeing the backs on these. Show them WHO THE BOSS IS Angela Bower style in these killer earrings with a blazer and plaid pencil skirt at the office!
Verdict: Everything was golden this month with the CHC Vintage Accessory box! I am blown away by the selections they sent me this month—especially that beautiful, beaded purse! A piece like that is rare and as much as I love going thrifting, estate sale hopping, and flea marketing it would be slim to none I would find such a unique piece! Every piece selected, including the gorgeous gold accessories, was thoughtfully selected for me. I appreciate how tailored to my tastes these boxes are; it is evident that Nicole and her staff want to provide a personalized experience! I can’t suggest this box enough!
