Bluum September 2018 Review

My Bluum box account is set up for my youngest son, Bennett, who is 5 months old.  Let's see what we received this month:

Angel Dear Jacquard Blanket in Blue Farm - Retail Value $25 (blue currently out of stock)

This blanket is so cute with the contrasting colors on either side and the sweet farm animal babies and mommies (or daddies). It is a lightweight muslin blanket, but the two layers give it a little extra warmth. It's really soft and cozy, and while I have plenty of baby blankets, I don't have one quite like this. It's also a great size, which means it's perfect for snuggling.

Here is the blanket laid out on our loveseat and again with my 4-year old and Bennett snuggled underneath.

Satsuma Days of the Week Socks - Buy the full seven-day set for $29.95

Fun fact: satsuma is a type of citrus fruit, hence the adorable presentation here! While receiving the entire set of socks would have been preferred (manic Monday & taco Tuesday? Yes, please!), I'm happy with these Saturday night socks. There was no size selected and these are a little big, so I'm thinking we'll have to save them for later, but these might fit him once he starts wearing shoes and actually needs them, which is great.

Jack and Jill Natural Shampoo and Body Wash - Retail Value $12.99

This is an unscented, hypoallergenic, natural shampoo and body wash made in Australia. It is a plant-based formula made with quinoa and soap bark. I love having a natural wash to use on Bennett and this one is a great size at 10.14 oz. This is a new brand for us too, and I actually love the rectangular shape because it fits nicely on the side of the tub.

Octopus Wristy Buddy - Retail Value $14.99

How adorable is this little octopus? This is such a great little teething toy! It's the perfect size for an infant and has a soft strap that fits over baby's arm for those who aren't able to grasp just yet but still want to chew. This is designed by a teacher and mother and I think it's brilliant and there's definitely a market for this! While Bennett has no trouble grasping toys, he is just working on sitting up, so when he drops a toy, he falls over trying to grab it. This eliminates that problem and will actually be perfect for the car when I'm not available to help him. From their website: "Along with relief from teething irritation, these safe teether toys keep baby's face dry. BPA-, lead-, and phthalate-free, this teether is certified non-toxic and won the Green Scene Mom award!"

He definitely took to it right away! The strap is made of thin sock-like material and is loose enough that I don't see it being uncomfortable for him to wear as he's pulling and chewing on it.

Verdict: I really liked the items in our Bluum box this month, but this was the third teething item in two months and the second pair of socks in three months. These are definitely items that we can and do use, but I am hoping to see a bit more variety in future boxes. Overall, this was a great box with the nice blanket and fun yet practical teether. This box costs $34 a month, including free shipping, and the total value of the items I received is $57.26 (if you split up the sock pack), which is an awesome value.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? All orders are processed the first of every month and shipped out on the 9th. If you order today, you will start receiving a box for next month.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
