Scentbird is a perfume subscription where you choose one fragrance per month. They offer a variety of authentic designer scents and allow you to narrow down by either traditional categories for notes (e.g., floral, woody, spicy, etc.) or more general descriptive terms (e.g., mysterious, classic, flirty). Subscribers also receive a monthly discount code that can be used on full-size bottles of perfume or cologne from the Scentbird shop.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Scentbird for Women July 2018 Review
This month, I received Scentbird's “Scent of the Month.” You can either opt for the scent of the month or you can fill a queue with fragrances of your choosing:
There was what is basically an advertising flyer for this month’s scent, “Get a Room” by Confessions of a Rebel.
Your fragrance is typically packaged in a cardboard tube and if you look at the back, it has instructions for how to put these in the Scentbird holders.
Get a Room by Confessions of a Rebel – Estimated Value $12.33 (buy 3.4 oz for $155)
This brand appears to only exist on Scentbird, a single Instagram account, and the website linked to above (which isn’t fully set up yet, and which redirects you to Scentbird for purchases). I’m not entirely sure the images of their bottles aren’t Photoshopped mockups. If Scentbird is getting into the game of creating their own perfumes, that’s fine – I like their bath and body products. But I kind of wish they were more open about it if that’s what’s going on here.
At any rate, I’ve decided I actually do like this fragrance quite a bit. The top notes could be interpreted as harsh and masculine, but this wears down into something fruity and a little woody and sweet that is a good fit for me. The main notes are red apple, mandarin, cypress, vanilla, and clary sage. After a little while, the cypress and vanilla are the standouts, which is probably why I’m a fan – I like woody notes in fragrance a lot, especially when combined with sweet and spicy notes. I am not sure the scent, as it smells in conjunction with my body chemistry, makes me think of the fragrance name at all (it is not really sultry or sexy in my mind) but as long as I like it and will wear it again, I don’t really care about the name.
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $12.33, which is a little below the month-to-month cost of the subscription, but since this fragrance is apparently new and hard to find (not available at department stores or Sephora, etc.), I am OK with a slightly lower value from a product discovery aspect. (Of course, you can pad the value by selecting the most expensive fragrances for your own queue – you don’t have to stick with the scent of the month.)
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, all you have to do is choose this fragrance for your queue.

Value Breakdown: This subscription is $14.95/monthly and this month, I received $12.33 worth of fragrance (but again, this is highly variable based on what scent you receive).
