Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service that caters to plus size women between the sizes of 10-32. Gwynnie Bee allows you to select items you like and they are put in a virtual closet. The chosen items sent to you are at random, but you can select priority pieces to be sent to you first. I just started using the service a couple months ago and can say I always have a lot of fun with this box!

Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental service, but they also have a marketplace on their site where you can buy strongly discounted used rental pieces and brand new accessories, underwear, and work out gear as well!

Gwynnie Bee July 2018 Review

This review is of the one item at a time for two items that I received between July 11th- the 21st:

Candy Stripe Dress by Adrianna Papell Size 20w

Candy Stripe Dress by Adrianna Papell, Size 20w—Retail Value $67.50

As soon as I saw this dress, I envisioned wearing this dress to hang with Annette Funicello at a malt shop while watching The Beach Boys perform on a make-shift stage “I Get Around.” It is a tremendously specific piece of imagery and one I would love to live in! This piece also made me think of my fantastically stylish friend, Melanie, who wore a similar dress when we hung out at the Burger Boogaloo! This dress is so vibrant: the true epitome of summer! The cut is classic and rather flattering. The chiffon fabric has absolutely no stretch but has an elasticized waist to provide comfort and definition. If you closet this, which I encourage you to do, look at the measurements listed to ensure the best fit. I paired this gloriously retro number with oversized baby pink sunnies from Wherelight.com and a pair of shoes I recently found on clearance at Burlington. You will look amazing in this dress whether you are at your favorite hep spot for dancing or at the office with a slender cut black blazer and flats!

Mockneck Paisley A-Line Dress by Tiana B, Size 2x—Retail Value $47.50

I was so smitten with this dress upon seeing it that I not only closeted it immediately, but I cleared out my favorites list except this one in hopes of receiving it before my trip to California. The dress was delivered on the day I was flying out, but it was a great pick me up for my post-vacation blues. I adore the retro paisley print and bold color palette on this piece. The triangle style dress is incredibly comfortable and the fabric provides ample stretch. The only negative is how long it is on me! Seeing it on the model, I was expecting this to be a mini dress. I momentarily forgot I am 5’6 and have short legs. This all didn’t stop me from buying the dress and using some of my accumulated points to save $10 on it. Did you know that you accrue points through Gwynnie Bee anytime you closet, return, or purchase items? Pretty neat, right? I managed to get this dress for $37.50 and intend on having my friend hem it. I paired this stunner with black jellies and over-sized pink sunglasses to perfectly coordinate with the dress. This psychedelic, creamsicle beaut will easily translate into cooler weather months with black tights, black booties, and a faux leather biker jacket!

Stappy Hawaiian Love Sheath Dress by City Chic, Size M (18) — Retail Value $55

Does anyone have a luau that they want to invite me to? I am your girl if you do! This dress has a fantastic, retro pinup-girl flair to it that I adore. The cotton fabric has limited stretch and a silky satin liner material, so make sure to go by your measurements when determining the size to choose. The straps are adjustable to make the fit customized as well. I love the tulip cut on this as well; it is incredibly flirty! I wore this dress with my favorite black jellies and bamboo bracelets from my most recent Pinup in a Pack box!

Verdict: Gwynnie Bee remains one of my favorite subscription boxes! I appreciate that I can rent the clothing items and play with fashion trends without the commitment of purchasing pieces. This month the pieces I received had a retro flair that I can’t get enough of. I would be pleased to give all three pieces a forever home due to their style and how each piece fits. I also love that the company is passionate about inclusivity and offers size options for women ranging sizes from 0 to 32. Gwynnie Bee also has great perks like their GB Marketplace where you can buy new lingerie, accessories, and workout gear and their GB Outlet that sells previous rentals at a deep discount! You just can’t beat Gwynnie Bee!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! All three pieces are available to rent or purchase at Gwynnie Bee.

Value Breakdown: Gwynnie Bee’s costs range is dependent on your subscription and how many items you are sent at a time. I have the $95 three item at a time plan. This includes free shipping and returns. I can get as many pieces as I like monthly, as long as I return each item first. I got three items this month, but I could get several pieces sent to me in a month’s time if I return each piece after wearing promptly. The three pieces I reviewed total $170. That is roughly $75 more than my monthly subscription! Imagine the value if I had returned these pieces and received even more!

Awe thanks, Jann! I actually just took that dress to my friend that is a seamstress! I am so excited to see it as a cute mini dress! And awe shucks! Clothes are such a fun way to express yourself. Being able to adorn yourself with art is a wonderful thing!

i realized, with this review, that you look great in everything because you BELIEVE you look great in everything. Your confidence is very inspiring especially in one so young.

It took me until my 50’s {I am 58} to stop caring and worrying about what others might think of my makeup or my hair or how I dress. It is so freeing to only please yourself in these matters.

Good job!!

Awe thank you, Michelle! I figure it is better late than never to dress for yourself and own it. I have a strong “do you” mentality because life is just too short to worry what others think! Wear that dress, dance in the supermarket, sing at karaoke, heck… do whatever makes you happy! :o)

That last dress is particularly magical on you – they’re all winners, but DANG, that one is STUNNING. The cut on the bottom is so cute and shows off your legs, and the blue colors really play up your gorgeous red hair!

I started Gwynnie Bee last month and it’s my favorite! Not even tempted to go back to stitch fix or trunk club. I’ve gotten a few cute items at great prices. Love being able to try different items.

Yes! Glad you are loving them too! They are definitely one of my fave boxes for sure! They have such great discounts and selections! I got a dress last year from my first review. I paid around $60 for it. By December, the dress was too big for me, But I found it for like $15 in the outlet in the size I needed! I love them so much! I do love the other boxes too you mentioned since both my stylist are receptive to my feedback. I found an amazing dress from Stitch Fix from my most recent review of theirs!
