Graze August 2018 Review

Graze is a mini-snack subscription box that sends a customized selection of treats weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Graze offers over 100 different snacks that you can rate online, which, over time, helps tailor your subscription to your particular snacking preferences. Some subscribers spend time choosing preferences, noting which options they want to try, think they would like, or "trash" and prefer not to receive. Each Graze box may look completely different!

For subscribers with food sensitivities, it’s easy to "trash" snacks that contain gluten, dairy, or any other specific ingredient; however, Graze snacks are produced in a facility with nuts, wheat, milk, and many other foods that might not make this subscription a good fit for anyone with severe food allergies.

Boxes are shipped via USPS and are conveniently designed to fit in most standard mailboxes.

My Graze Review

It's been a hot minute since I've tried Graze! I was a subscriber of this way back when for a few months when they first launched in the US.

Intro Letter

The first item in the box is a quick intro sharing more info about their farming school in a Ugandan village. This school is sponsored by Graze using funds from your subscription and referrals!

They also include some referral codes, conveniently designed to tear away and share with friends who have never tried the service before.

Nutrition Facts

The back has nutritional info for everything included in your box, customized just for your delivery.

 Jelly Doughnut Jelly Doughnut

Jelly Doughnut - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

I like that Graze has a good mix of kind of "standard" trail mix type blends, and these fun mixes that are totally unique to them! Jelly Doughnut includes raspberry fruit strips, cookie drops, "raspberry cranberries" and almonds. A handful of this is fruity and crunchy and, yes, totally jelly doughnut-like, but without the mess. I'm 7.5 months pregnant and I endorse this snack!

 Energy Nuts Energy Nuts

Natural Energy Nuts - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

This is a simple combo of walnut, hazelnut, and almond with a whopping 7 g of protein in this tiny container! It's unsalted, which is great for many people who are watching their sodium. Overall, this was good and fresh (and I love extra protein in my snacks for sure), but it lacks that certain je ne sais quoi that my favorite Graze snacks have.

Sweet Chili Burst Sweet Chili Burst

Sweet Chili Burst - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

This snack meanwhile, with 6 g of protein, was such an interesting mix! I loved the combo of savory and sweet with these chili lime cashews and chili honey peanuts. I could probably eat a whole container of just those peanuts, though– they have a great crunch and blend of spicy + sweet that is sooooo good.

 Peach Cobbler Peach Cobbler

Peach Cobbler - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

Ooh! This is similar to the Jelly Doughnut treat that I love, but with a peach flavor profile plus yogurt drops. It's hard to describe just how good this one is... it's bursting with flavor and the texture is amazing. 10/10 would eat again!

Veggie Protein Power Veggie Protein Power

Veggie Protein Power - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

Another snack with 7 g of protein, but this one packs a LOT more flavor. Black pepper cashews are one of my favorite ways to eat nuts and combined with the spicy chickpeas and edamame, they are delicious. This one is my favorite savory snack in the box for sure.

Cinnamon Banana Energiser Cinnamon Banana Energiser

Cinnamon Banana Energizer - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

I'll be the first to admit that the bananas in this snack didn't look super appetizing at first, but this one quickly changed my mind. Y'know the street vendors who sell cinnamon roasted nuts and how amazing those smell (and taste)? This snack is just like that, only plus delicious chewy banana and raisins. I pretty much inhaled this, and it's one that I also think my kid would really love. I'm a fan of banana chips but hate how hard they are to chew– these chewy bananas, by contrast, were really, really delicious and seemed to have a better banana flavor. Yum!

Vitamin E Defense Vitamin E Defense

Vitamin E Defense - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

I tend to think of Vitamin E as more of a topical skin treatment than something I need to eat more of. This snack was tasty either way, though it's pretty simple and crowd-pleasing overall: hazelnuts, peanuts, cranberries, and raisins.

Tropical Energizer Smoothie Tropical Energizer Smoothie

Tropical Energizer Smoothie - Buy a pack of 6 for $8.99

I can take or leave coconut most days, but I was really curious about the spirulina bites and golden berries in this snack. Overall this one was interesting but I don't know that I loved it, because it was a bit too tart for my liking. This does have a generous 5 g of fiber, which is a nice perk.

Verdict: Graze 8-snack variety pack is a fun way to try a lot of different snacks and ensure you find the ones you really like. I know many people hate how small the portion sizes are with Graze, but as a pregnant lady who is trying not to overdo it too much, I appreciate the smaller sizes... especially when I go "this tiny cup is 220 calories?!" and realize I could have eaten literally a whole bag of the same thing if I wasn't paying attention.
