The Bakery Box "Fly’n Hawaiian" July 2018 Review

Watermelon Candle, 4 oz

Watermelon Candle, 4 oz

I have been wanting to try a candle from Shea Shea Bakery ever since I first discovered the brand—their candles look absolutely incredible. When I found out one was included in this month’s box I was so stoked! Luckily, this candle did not disappoint. Aside from being absolutely adorable, the fresh scent of watermelon this candle puts out is amazing. When I walk by it and catch a whiff I am filled with joy—watermelon is one of my absolute favorite scents (and flavors), and this candle nails the watermelon scent perfectly. If this wasn’t a box exclusive and was available for purchase, I would be buying three more right now.

Blue Hawaiian Body Wash, 4 oz

Blue Hawaiian Body Wash, 4 oz

I love drinking a Blue Hawaiian so I was more than happy to see this body wash. Luckily, the scent of the body wash is a dead ringer for the actual drink. This lathered up well (especially when used with the bonus bath loofah that was included in the box) and left my skin feeling clean without feeling tight.

Coconut Body Lotion, 4 oz – Estimated Value $5

Shea Shea Bakery’s body butters are a little too thick and greasy for my personal taste, so I was excited to try this body lotion. This was much lighter in texture and it absorbed quickly into my skin, and the coconut scent was absolutely decadent. This was an awesome lotion to use after washing with the Blue Hawaiian body wash.

Himalayan Salt Foot Scrub in Pink Sand, 4 oz

Himalayan Salt Foot Scrub in Pink Sand, 4 oz

I couldn’t find this anywhere on the website, so yay for more exclusive products! I love a good foot scrub and the thick consistency of this really made rubbing it into my feet a relaxing experience. This made my feet feel so soft and smooth, and I am excited to start using it consistently since sandals season is in full force.

Bath Bomb, 5 oz – Estimated Value $3.50

No scent description or name was provided for this, and based on other bath bombs sold by Shea Shea Bakery I believe this was a custom product for the box. It turned my bathtub a delightfully pleasant orange color and filled my bathroom with the scents of tropical citrus. I love citrus, so this was a real treat.

Bonus! Bath Loofah

Also included in the box was a bath loofah! I thought this really helped to round out the box, as it made lathering up with the Blue Hawaiian body wash a breeze.

The Verdict: This was, hands down, my absolute favorite box I have ever gotten from Shea Shea Bakery—and it wasn’t close. Not only do I love tropical scents, I also loved the unique products included! I have been wanting to try a candle and a bath bomb from the brand for a while, and the box exclusive foot scrub was absolutely stellar as well. Because so many of the items were box exclusives I couldn’t get an estimated total, but I absolutely feel like I got more than my money’s worth with this month’s box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up today your first box will be the August box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.55 + $5.00shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box (not including the loofah) has an average cost of $4.91.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Every time I see this review come around I swear I am gonna go over to the actual store for this company and I always forget until the NEXT revoew comes around. It’s probably for the best as I would spend waaay too much if I were faced with an entire store full of this stuff! lol

Does anybody know if they ever release the theme beforehand? I signed up for July and was kinda bummed on the theme when it came, I would have waited for a more “bakery” theme personally. The stuff is great quality, I will use it, just overloaded on tropical right now

Yeah, they gave full spoilers for July on Instagram last week.

That’s not really beforehand though, I already paid for and had the box in hand at that point.
