Teabox “The Leisure Box” July 2018 Review

Each Teabox comes with an insert that includes a description of the month’s theme and the teas included. This month’s insert also includes a reading list for you to pair these teas with.

Each blend in this box weighed 0.35 oz., which means you get about 4 cups of tea out of each bag.

Calming Chamomile Green Tea, 0.35 oz

Calming Chamomile Green Tea, 0.35 oz – Retail Value $3.00

This tea had a mild flavor with a slight bitterness. The chamomile flavor was a bit more pronounced in this tea than in other chamomile teas I have had. There wasn’t anything very special about this one in my opinion. I do think those who like chamomile will enjoy this. This is the tea you’ll want to sip after winding down after a long day or right before bed.

Mountain Rose Tea, 0.35 oz

Mountain Rose Tea, 0.35 oz – Retail Value $4.00

This was an intensely floral smelling tea! It smelled like a fresh garden of roses with notes of jasmine, cardamom, and cream. The cardamom adds warmth and the spice pairs well with the rose to give it a mild flavor. On their website this tea is described as “dessert-like” and it definitely lived up to its description! This is a true floral tea that can be enjoyed plain.

Nilgiri Jasmine Green Tea, 0.35 oz – Retail Value $3.00

The first whiff of this tea brought back memories of my summer trips to the Caribbean. The aroma is very awakening and so is the flavor, there are undercurrents of grilled greens in this tea, but the jasmine is definitely the star of the show. The flavor danced all over my palette! It was definitely unique, I have never had a tea like this before. This is the type of tea you drink at a backyard barbeque with family and friends. Or at a bonfire at the beach on a chilly night.

Mango - Turmeric Tang Tea, 0.35 oz

Mango – Turmeric Tang Tea, 0.35 oz – Retail Value $3.00

A fruity tea including diced mango, pineapple, turmeric, ginger, lemongrass and orange peel. I did not care too much for the flavor of this tea, it was a bit bland for my taste. Although it includes a variety of different candied fruits the only flavors that stood out to me were the ginger, orange, and lemongrass. I did not taste the pineapple and turmeric. Those who love ginger might like this one.

Moroccan Mint Green Tea, 0.35 oz  – Retail Value $3.00

Although this tea was very fresh and reviving it had quite a bitter taste, but some don’t mind bitter tea. This will be a good tea to drink for an upset stomach since mint is known to be soothing on the tummy. This is a good pick me up tea and it can be served hot or cold. The green tea balances out the mint so it wasn’t overpowering.

Verdict: As a tea lover I was thrilled to receive this box, it promised fragrant blends and flavorful tisanes and it definitely delivered! Each bag of tea was highly aromatic and uniquely flavored. My favorite was the Nilgiri Jasmine Green Tea, not only for the awakening jasmine flavor but also for the pleasant memories the aroma brought back. This month’s Teabox is a floral garden in a cup! It has introduced me to flavors I most likely never would have tried and I am looking forward to spending my mornings and evenings enjoying these teas.

I absolutely love receiving packages in the mail, so when subscription boxes burst on to the scene many years ago I was exhilarated! I’ve subscribed to several boxes throughout the years but the one I enjoyed the most was Boxycharm. When I’m not trying different products from my boxes I enjoy road trips, traveling abroad and playing my keyboard.
