Sweet Sparkle June 2018 Review
This month includes warm tones to create a fiery summer look. Let’s see what’s included.
Each month, an info card is included with an intro to the theme and the product names and retail values. This month’s theme is “Fire + Desire”.
J. Cat Beauty Fab Five Eyeshadow Palette in Beaming Sunrise - Retail Value $4.99
I’m not a big fan of yellows and reds for my eyes, but this little palette isn’t highly pigmented, so it’s approachable. The shadows are slightly shimmery and blend easily. They certainly do fluff around though so be sure to tap off the excess before applying. My favorite shade is the first pan – it has a nice peachy tone with a champagne shimmer and looks really nice when blended out.
Bellapierre Volumizing Mascara in Black - Retail Value $20
This is a solid mascara. It has a deep black color, provides volume and length, and gives that feathery effect that I love. I usually don’t like a thin spoolie like this, but this one was able to get close to my lash line without making a mess, so it redeemed itself. I did notice a little smudging throughout the (hot and humid) day.
Lucie + Pompette Lip Batter 3-in1 Plumper, Gloss, and Balm in Bon Bon - Retail Value $16
Ehhh, I don’t know if I like this. It is a plumper, balm, and gloss in one and I could feel it tingling for the first 5 minutes or so. I didn’t notice any plumping but it did hydrate my lips. The formula is very thick and sticky, so it will stay put for a while but it will catch your hair. Also, I feel like this only further irritates my lips if they are chapped, which is often.
J. Cat Beauty Roll It Up Auto Eyeliner in Bulk Black - Retail Value $2.99
For a $2.99 eyeliner, this one isn’t too shabby. It applies well with a nice rich color and lasts throughout the day. It isn’t budge proof though, so I have to be careful to not rub my eyes.
Jordana Blush Pot in Coral Sandy Beach - Retail Value $2.99
This is another $2.99 product that impresses me so much! This blush has a super velvety texture and might be one of the most blendable I own. I think this subtle coral shade is considered a pearl finish (they have matte, shimmer, and pearl) because it is only slightly shimmery when the light hits it. It just gives a beautiful flushed look that brightens me up even when my skin is looking dull. There are many shades on their site too! This is an incredible find for such a fantastic price.

Here is my version of “Fire + Desire”.
Verdict: Sweet Sparkle’s “Fire + Desire” box has a value of $46.97 with free shipping. While that seems fairly low for the price of this box, discovering the Jordana blush shows me that the retail value of the items isn’t everything. I know a lot of people have access to these brands at their drugstores but mine is lacking in the beauty department, so I appreciate trying even inexpensive products. I think everything in this box coordinates well for this look and the blush and mascara are my favorites. This isn’t the biggest value box but, as always, all of the items are full-sized and curated to create an entire look. I’m looking forward to more fun looks from Sweet Sparkle!
