MunchPak Original Box June 2018 Review

Each month's MunchPak usually includes an insert that leads you to their Snack Scanner App, which will provide handy information on what snack you're enjoying, where it's from, and where you can purchase more. This box was put together by Roxanne, who's done a lot of my past boxes. She feels like an old friend by now!

Honey Stinger Organic Caramel Waffle, 1.06 oz. – Buy a box of 16 for $17.79

MunchPak has always been so big on including stroopwafel-type snacks in their selections. This one tastes a lot like other ones I've had, although the texture was slightly more dense than others I've had in the past. These are apparently popular snacks to bring to the gym or eat during workouts, and I can totally get behind that! They're compact and just the right amount of sweet.

Trolli Sour Brite Sneaks, 4.25 oz. – Retail Value $4.00

My second-favorite snack in the box! I had never heard of or seen these before, they're so darn cute! Professional basketball player James Harden apparently partnered up with Trolli for a limited edition sneaker gummie—I love the idea so much. They taste AWESOME and are full of really vibrant tropical flavors! Aren't they such a fun shape?

Pipers Crisp Co. Wild Thyme & Rosemary Kettle Chips, 1.4 oz. – Retail Value $3.00

There comes a time when flavored potato chips are too flavored for their own good. This, unfortunately, was one of those times. The thyme and rosemary flavors were SO overpowering, you couldn't taste any potato! I kept waiting for the kettle-cooked potato chip flavor to sneak in towards the end, but it never did. These just taste like straight-up herbs, with the chip itself merely a vehicle for transport. Not for me!

Nutella B-Ready Chocolate-Filled Wafers – Buy a 2-box case of 12 total wafers for $12.99

This is the most elaborately-shaped dessert I've received from MunchPak and I love it deeply for that reason. It's a fake baguette; it's a wafer; it's a Nutella-filled fake baguette made of wafers. So tasty and cute! The baguettes themselves are very substantial and filled to their brims with oozy hazelnut filling. I bet these would go great with coffee!

7Days Pizzeti Emmentaler, Tomato, & Garlic Flavor Crisps, 2.82 oz. – Buy a pack of 12 for $27.99

I was so excited to open these, but was, unfortunately, let down. For one thing, they were all broken and crumbled! They looked nothing like the crips, round wafer on the packaging. When it came to their taste, it seemed very artificial. I guess the best way I could sum them up would be fake-tomato-flavored croutons. I can imagine they'd be good with cheese or bruschetta, but snacking on them plain left much to be desired.

Cool Toons Laser Lollipops, 4.93 oz. – Buy a 24-count bag for $9.99

These were hands down my favorite item I received in this month's box! The lollipop sticks GLOWED IN THE DARK. I brought the bag of lollipops to a friend's house for a get-together and we had so much fun with them! You crack the stick like a regular glow stick, and it glows pretty darn bright, even in the daylight. The lollipops themselves have a bright, fruity flavor to them, and their size is just mini enough to not feel like too much of a task to finish. I adored these!

Glico Pejoy Cookies and Cream-Filled Biscuit Sticks, 1.98 oz. – Buy a 3-box case for $15.97

Such a fun treat! I've received similar snacks from MunchPak in the past, but never see biscuit sticks like these in US stores! They didn't taste quite like Oreos (which was what I thought they'd taste like!) but the cookies-and-cream flavors were definitely rockin'. These feel addicting to snack on—they're just too fun to gobble up! The creamy filling had a great texture, too.

White & Red Flag Caramel Heaven Wafers, 1.76 oz. – Retail Value $2.00

I'm not a huge fan of caramel, so these were just okay in my book. They had a surprisingly soft and smooth texture, unlike most wafer snacks I've had. I expected it to be a lot crispier! The flavor itself was like a very powerful dulce de leche. I guess the caramel is what made the wafer so soft!

Fini Tornadoes Sour Strip Candies, 2.5 oz. – Buy a 20-count box for $26.22

Oooooh boy, was I a sucker for these types of sour strings growing up. These Tornado gummies had me feeling so nostalgic! They're not TOO sour, so if you're a sour-candy fiend you may find them a little ho-hum. For people like me who used to rinse the sour powder off of their Warheads, this was perfect! I had so much fun snacking on these fruity chews.

Fructal Superior Apricot and Apple Nectar – Retail Value $5.00

I received two of these in this month's box. This was probably my favorite drink MunchPak has ever sent me! I usually don't care for their drinks, as they're often outlandish flavors or thick, goopy textures. This one was thick, but once I refrigerated it, it was SO refreshing to drink. The apricot and apple flavors went really well together, and it wasn't overly sweet like other drinks I've received in the past.

Verdict: I was really happy with this month's MunchPak! There's always a few misses—and I can't fault them for being adventurous with their inclusions!—but the highlights greatly outweighed any ho-hum snacks this time around. The gummies and the glowing lollipops were my absolute favorites. A lot of this month's snacks were large enough to share with lots of friends, too, which we all loved! While I usually love the salty snack inclusions, I wasn't a huge fan of the tomato crackers or kettle chips. All in all, however, I had a lot of fun exploring and tasting these new treats.
