Love With Food Gluten Free July 2018 Review

I'm excited to explore this month's gluten-free Love with Food box. I don't eat a strictly gluten-free diet, but my husband and I cook and eat gluten-conscious due to the widespread health benefits of cutting back on grains and carbs. Ready to see what's inside?

Love With Food play theme

Love With Food july theme

This month's theme is "Play." On the back is a note about how they rounded up their favorite summer snacks for this box. They also encourage subscribers to follow the Instagram accounts for the brands they feature. Finally, they suggest going to the Love with Food website to save on certain snacks!

Love With Food acquired

Love With Food gluten free

This is a note saying that Love with Food has been acquired by SnackNation. According to this letter, not much should change! Subscribers should still expect to receive healthy-ish snacks and for donations to be made to Feeding America with every box shipped.

Love With Food gummy bears Love With Food gummies

Love With Food cinnamon gummies

Wholesome Cinnamon Organic Bears, 0.7 oz. – Buy a 2 oz bag for $1.99

These organic gummies are made without high fructose corn syrup or synthetic flavoring. They're naturally flavored and vegan. They definitely aren't the same consistency as your average gummy bear, but I actually like the slightly less-chewiness better! Flavor-wise, they're pretty intense, which perhaps justifies the fact that only 4 came in my bag.

This item was also sent in July's Love With Food Tasting Box.

Love With Food gluten free snack mix

Love With Food snack mix

Love With Food party mix

Pretzel Perfection Gluten-Free Snack Mix, 3 oz. - Buy a 6-pack box for $14.99

I've found just about every party mix I've encountered in my lifetime to be pretty consistent, and this one is no exception. Those with a gluten-free preference know that GF pretzels have a slightly harder consistency than your average pretzel, but other than that, this is exactly the cheesy goodness that one might expect.

Love With Food flavored chips Love With Food salt and vin chips Love With Food flavored potato chips

Route 11 Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips, 2 oz. – Buy a 30 Pack for $35.00

If you've ever tried salt & vinegar chips, you know what you're in for! These have that signature intense vinegar flavor. I personally love the flavor, but not for more than a handful of chips. So even though this bag isn't too big, it'll last me a little while—that is, unless my husband finds them. 🙂

Love With Food kettle cooked chips Love With Food kettle chips

Love With Food chips

Route 11 Lightly Salted Potato Chips, 1 oz. – Buy 14 bags for $25.99 (found here for $21.99)

I've received these chips in a different snack box before and give them two thumbs up! As far as salted kettle chips go, these are pretty classic, and I'm grateful that they come in a small bag because I couldn't possibly be able to stop myself from eating more if there were more provided.

This item was also sent in July's Love With Food Deluxe Box.

 Love With Food angel mint

Angel Mint, 1 count – Buy 110 for $23.02

Love with Food usually throws in a piece or two of candy, and for folks who are candy-lovers, it seems like a great way to try new ones without committing to an entire bag of them. I have no problem passing on hard candies or caramels, so this mint was easy to toss aside for me. I'd rather save my sugar intake for something chocolate-y I can bite into! Folks who have reviewed these candies on Amazon report that they're refreshing and melt in your mouth. If that's your thing, you might have to stock up!

Love With Food mini pops

Love With Food caramel corn

Love With Food mini popcorn

Mini Pops Salty Caramel Popcorn, 0.7 oz. – Buy 6 bags for $6.99

This popcorn isn't mini just for fun—it's because it's made out of sorghum instead of corn! Sorghum is a grain that to the best of my knowledge is most often used to feed livestock, but a quick internet search shows it's also used to make human food products and as a cereal grain. It was hard to put my finger on what was different-tasting about this snack (Marne calls it more wheat-like in her July Tasting Box review), but the sweet-and-savory flavoring made it also taste like kettle corn. Not my favorite snack, but it was fun to try!

A different flavor of this item was also sent in July's Love With Food Deluxe Box and the Tasting Box.

Love With Food love corn

Love With Food cornnuts Love With Food corn nuts

Love Corn Habanero Chili Corn Snack, 0.7 oz x 2– Buy a 10 pack of 1.6 oz bags for $25.87 (found here for $21.89)

I always forget how much I love corn nuts until they spontaneously show up in my life after long stretches of being absent! They're hard and crunchy, usually salty, and this edition has a little spice to it. So tasty!

This item was also sent in July's Love With Food Deluxe Box.

Love With Food oatmeal

Love With Food insta oatmeal

Tom & Jenny's Classic Soft Caramels, 2 count — Buy a 2.3 oz bag for $5.99

I keep instant oatmeal packets in my desk drawer for days when I don't have time to eat breakfast before work or in case I need an afternoon snack. I typically like to make plain oatmeal and flavor it up with my own nuts, seeds, and fruit—and always peanut butter—because it's a way of sweetening the situation super subtly. This blueberry scone flavor has 11g of sugar, which isn't the worst but isn't too impressive either. I'll betcha if I add my usual nuts and peanut butter in, it'll balance it out nicely. Into the desk drawer, it goes!

Love With Food jana banana bars

Love With Food banana bar Love With Food banana snack

Jana Banana Original Banana Bar with Peanut Butter, 1.34 oz. x 2 – Buy 12 bars for $13.90

Everything from the packaging to the look to the taste of this snack bar is appealing to me! I noticed that some reviews say they didn’t like that this bar tasted like overripe bananas, and honestly, they have a fair point, I just so happen to like that flavor. Mixed with peanut butter, this bar is delish! I've received this snack in myLove with Food Gluten-Free box before and both my husband and I have enjoyed it.

The Verdict: Great month for the Love with Food Gluten-Free box! I'm a real savory snack lover, so I was happy that they included plenty of salty things for me to munch on. Value-wise, I'd say this box is a good deal, especially when you consider that it saves snackers the trouble of having to sift through nutrition labels at the grocery store and they can just dive right in!

Those mints aren’t hard when you actually eat them. I can see why you might think so from the description, but really they aren’t, and they are definitely worth a try. I bought a huge box of them after getting one in a past Love with Food Box.
