Fortune Cookie Soap “The Park is Open” July 2018 Review
This box comes with a mini handbook detailing the products, how to use it, the unique scent, and ingredients. New to the handbook is pricing details for each item! One thing of note — I have purchased from the FCS website several times, and all of the listed prices match up with what I have seen available for sale once the collection becomes available.
Clever Girl Perfume Oil, 10 mL – Listed Value $12.99
When I first smelled this perfume oil I wasn't a big fan, but I applied it to my wrist anyway. Throughout the day afterward I kept catching a whiff of the scent and I actually started to love it. Once the top notes of strawberry jam wear off the apple and vanilla bean really stood out, and that is a unique perfume combination compared to what I usually go for. I always think its crazy how perfumes react to everyone’s body chemistry differently, and how it can cause scents to change once you apply them.
Spare No Expense Body Milk, 8.6 oz – Listed Value $13.99
So, I know this is a body milk, but I didn’t expect it to actually have the consistency of milk! The thin consistency, however, made it super easy for my skin to drink this moisturizer up. It left me feeling soft and silky, and I really loved the scent of sea mist, orange blossom, and lemon.
Preserved in Amber Exfoliating Body Wash, 4.65 oz – Listed Value $7.99
The color of the body wash looks just like the pictures of fossils preserved in amber. Unfortunately, this body wash really didn’t do it from me. The walnut shell pieces felt a bit weird on my skin, and the scent of amber and mandarin was not my favorite.
Water Ripples Toilet Bombs, 3 oz – Listed Value $8.49
These toilet bombs are deodorizers for when you “have a T-Rex sized stench to cover up.” Can we just take a moment to appreciate the attention to detail that Fortune Cookie Soap shows in every aspect of their products? Even the product descriptions are creative and unique, and it really makes this box a lot more fun. The scent notes of sandalwood and sea minerals is a nice clean scent that left my entire bathroom smelling refreshed. I also like that these can be used as a toilet bowl cleaner, too! My only complaint is that it was pretty difficult to get the cubes out of the clamshell, and it made a bit of a powdery mess.
Cryo Can Shaving Cream, 3.1 oz – Listed Value $12.99
This shaving cream had a very earthy scent thanks to the summer squash and leaves, and this was incredibly moisturizing thanks to the aloe and coconut oil. After shaving I didn’t even need to apply lotion to my legs because this was so hydrating! If I could change one thing I would make the shaving cream a color other than white so it was easier to see where I had already shaved.
Must Go Faster Car Freshener, 2.25 oz – Listed Value $7.99
I have to be careful with air fresheners in my truck because, with this Louisiana heat, scents can really become overwhelming when my truck has been baking in the sun. This freshener is very light and fresh thanks to the orange rind and lemongrass, and it doesn't overwhelm me when I climb into my truck. Two thumbs up for this one!
Life Finds A Way Moroccan Oil Hair Detangler, 5.5 oz – Listed Value $10.99
This Moroccan oil hair detangler was extremely lightweight while still hydrating my curls. I loved that it didn’t weigh my hair down while still helping my curls stay tangle-free. The scent combination of sandalwood and apricot made my hair smell quite lovely, too!
The Verdict: Fortune Cookie Soap Box is one of my favorite boxes to receive every month. I love the attention to detail in every aspect of the box, from the box itself to the product descriptions and the designs of the products. The amber packaging is perfect for the Jurassic Park theme and I thought the names of the products were really cute too. I also appreciate how big all of the items were this month—that is the first thing I noticed when I opened the box! All in all, another great month from FCS.
