Collections by Joya July 2018 Review

collections by joya card

As always, my Collections by Joya box's arrival had me giddy with anticipation! Lately, Joya has been including this "thank you" card with some info about where to find them online. It's a nice little intro to the box.

collections by joya pouch

All the jewelry in my Collections by Joya box was tucked in this lightweight canvas pouch per usual. I have a bunch of these collected from over the months, and I find they're good to have around for various reasons.

This month's pouch was filled with three items: two necklaces and a pair of earrings. They range from casual to dressy!

Celebration Pendant Necklace — Estimated Value $58.95

This delicate, 18K gold-plated necklace is the most classy item in July's box. It's sold in three colors on the Joya site, none of which include this particular stone. I recognize it as labradorite from the pieces I received in April's box—it's sort of a smoky blue hue with a faint iridescence—and it's hugged by sparkly rhinestones. This necklace is a little more dainty than I prefer to wear day to day, but I could see someone with a more pulled-together aesthetic rocking this to work or on a date.

Here you can see its length—I'm wearing it at 16", but it has a 2" extender.

All the Angles Earrings — Retail Value $38.95

These studs are fun for day to day, but could also be worn dressed-up. They're gold-plated with a smooth finish. You could wear them with the longest side against your face or switch it up and have the pointy part inward—while subtle, I think it would make a difference in the look!

Pendulum Pendant Necklace — Retail Value $58.95

This longer necklace is a little more my speed because of its length and bolder pendant. It strikes me as something that would be worn casually in a day-to-day look most often, but as with the earrings, it certainly offers occasion versatility! I love that the circular pendant is hammered—it adds dimension and interest.

collections by joya gift wrap

Here's a quick shot of the gift wrap that comes in every month's box! It's a cardstock squeezebox that arrives with a pretty piece of raffia ribbon. I usually show what it looks like flat, but here it in its gift-ready state.

Verdict: Collections by Joya is one of my favorite subscription boxes due to the high quality, ethical production, and the fact that their jewelry is just so consistently beautiful! As is often the case, I fell in love with two pieces (the earrings and the long, geometric pendant necklace) and will probably pass one along (the shorter necklace with the stone). To me, that's a great setup—it's a way of treating myself each month, but also spreading the love. This box costs $49.95, including free shipping. The three items in my box added up to $156.85, which, as always, is a stellar deal.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Order by 8/8 to get the August box!

Value Breakdown:

  • Celebration Pendant Necklace: $18.77
  • All the Angles Earrings: $12.40
  • Pendulum Pendant Necklace: $18.77

Alternatively, at $49.95 for this box, you're paying approximately $16.65 per item. For such high-quality accessories with beautiful detailing, that's a fantastic deal.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

I’ve now received two of these boxes. I couldn’t be happier!! The longer necklace is AWESOME. My shorter necklace came with a white stone.

I’ve subbed to a ridiculously large number of boxes over the years, and in terms of quality of the items, overall value, and my enjoyment and use of the items, this is hands down my absolute favorite.

FYI – if anyone is still interested in this box, trying contacting them. I had seen the June box reviewed here and decided I really needed that box. They were super responsive and nice. They had one left in their warehouse that I was able to buy.

I totally agree that this box is pretty much the height of sub boxes. So happy you love it as much as I do!

Is it hard to unsubscribe from this box? I’ve been watching this box for awhile and I want to take the plunge.

P.S. Christen, you look radiant!

That’s a good question, Sharon. I know you can easily put it on hold any month, and I also know their customer service team tends to be pretty responsive. 🙂

P.S. Thank you!! <3

I always think this is the kids hair accessory box because of the name. I’ll have to keep an eye on this one.

I’m not familiar with the kids’ hair accessory box, what’s it called? 🙂

I haven’t cancelled but you can put your sub on hold from month to month. This is what I am doing while we are preparing to move.
