Bullymake Box is a monthly subscription box for power chewers. You all have heard about (and seen) some of Nyx’s exploits with plush toys from dog subscription boxes so when I heard about this one, I had to sign up immediately. Nyx is definitely a power chewer! You pick your dog’s weight in 10-pound increments so this is a box for an 80-pound dog (Nyx weighs about 84 right now).

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Toys-only, 80-pound, $39 a month, box.

Bullymake Box July 2018 Review

About Bullymake Box

The Subscription Box: Bullymake Box

The Cost: $39 a month (save with 3, 6, and 12-month subscriptions)

The Products: Toys and treats specifically tailored for heavy chewing dogs (no plushes). You can also choose a “toys only” box. Because of Nyx’s dietary issues, I went with the “toys only” box. You can also enter specific allergy information in a box on the checkout screen.

Ships to: USA (free!), Canada for $8, and Internationally for an additional cost

Good to know: if you want a toys-only box, you must select that during sign-up. Otherwise, you will get the default box, which does include some treats.

Bullymake Box July 2018 Review

There wasn’t a theme this month:

Not all boxes are the same due to the fact that you can choose your dog’s size in 10-pound increments, choose a toys-only box, etc., but there is usually an information card highlighting an item or two from the box.

Multipet Nuts for Knots (medium)

Multipet Nuts for Knots (medium) – Retail Value $6.79 (found here for $4.19)

We tend to receive a lot of Multipet rope toys with this subscription. (Note: if you get the regular box that includes treats, you will probably not receive this type of toy, but instead the ones featured on the information card.) Nyx loves them, though. Nyx can destroy these, but it takes her a few sessions. I like them because they are quiet (no squeakers!).

Bullymake Double Cheeseburger – Listed Value $18

This isn’t available in the Bullymake shop yet, so I’ve used the value from the information card. You’ll usually receive one hard rubber toy each month. This one is suitable for putting treats or chews into and it has holes on both the top and bottom so there are no worries about suction.  There are a few treats Nyx can have that we’ve discovered in the past year or so, so toys like this are more interesting to her now that I can put food in them!

Bullymake Bacon Chew – Estimated Value $19

This isn’t available in the Bullymake shop, but it is very similar to this toy, which we received in a past month, so I’m using the value from that. Nyx lives for these nylon chews and the flavors don’t seem to upset her stomach, so she is a big fan of this one. (It doesn’t smell to me, thankfully!)

Bullymake T-Bone Chew – Listed Value $18

This is another one not yet available in the Bullymake shop. You’ll usually receive at least one nylon chew in this box, and this is the one featured on the information card this month (which is also where I got the price). This allegedly has a BBQ flavor. Nyx seems to enjoy it quite a bit; at first, there was some playing around and licking and sniffing, but then the usual pathological chewing kicked in and I am pleased to say this still looks pretty good after two sessions.

Here are a few shots of Nyx with the T-bone toy. These nylon chews are the highlight of her month.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $61.79 for the July 2018 Bullymake Box, but please be aware this is based largely on estimates and information card values. I do feel that the contents of this box were representative of other “toys only” months of Bullymake Box (and of course the Bullymake branded toys are the same for everyone). I would not say that every single toy from this subscription holds up for months on end, but they last longer than average with Nyx, who has always been a very destructive chewer, and this month was no exception. The nylon chews were particular favorites for Nyx.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first shipment would be August. You can buy some of the exclusive toys at the Bullymake Shop if something catches your eye. Also, please note that this is the TOYS ONLY version of the box and it is selected for an 80-pound dog. There are some box variations here so you may not always receive the same box as Nyx gets, even if you choose the same profile values when you sign up.

Coupon – Use code Bullymake5 to save $5 off your first box!

Value Breakdown: At $39 for the box, you are paying approximately $9.75 per item. Alternatively, you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Rope ball $4.29
  • Cheeseburger toy $11.36
  • Bacon toy $11.99
  • T-Bone toy $11.36

Nyx is gorgeous. What kind of dog is she?

She is a Rottweiler (AKC registered). Her head looks a little funky from some angles because she’s lost some muscle mass due to being on prednisolone for her inflammatory bowel disease.
