Allure Beauty Box August 2018 FULL SPOILERS + $5 Coupon!

I 100% agree that not all the products are even at the level of good this month and even for September I’m like meh, but allure has been consistently performing well for me. I get full sized items every box. I can almost always swap what I won’t use and I’m only being charged $10.83.

You should call them and domain. They’ll give you 4 months at $10 a month if you want it 🙂 the Oct & Nov boxes are looking wow!

Wow! I wish they had made that mistake with me. 😁 I actually emailed them about the lip balm. It’s a “deluxe sample” that only contains enough for 3-4 uses. It’s not that great anyways, so in the end I didn’t really care. The Luna was the entire box for me as well, everything else was just extra. 😉

Speaking of, would any of you ladies like to have mine? I won’t use it and it seems quite a few really like the jewelry. First person to respond may have it.

I agree, I was shocked how packed my box was with stuff !! I have been a subscriber for a long time, when it was Sample Society, I think Allure is getting better & better.

I didn’t get hoops 🙁 I got the cle lip powder- honestly im not even upset, it’s really a cool produtt and i’d been wanting to try it out, I’m blown away by this month’s box a cool non black liner, a nice lip balm (i’ve been trying out lip balms to find my HG), a great leave in conditioner, a mask (which I probably will swap), a serum/oil and moisturizer (which ill also swap), and a powder (which I won’t use and thus swap) I won’t use half of what I recieved, but I’m still pumped about the rest of the (9!?!) products I recieved. however im not rly feeling the august box

You are correct. This is a great box! A stuffed full box! Yet , Allure simply can’t seen to get some things together and there’s also the playing favorites thing. I’ve been subscribed for well over a year. In that time, I’ve only gotten 4 shipping emails prior to the box showing up. More often than not, the email comes the day of or after it has been delivered. If you email Allure, you’re lucky if you get a response that makes any sense if you get one at all. If you call customer service, they don’t know anything plus, the email CS department and the phone CS are different departments. One has no idea what’s going on with the other. Come on! It’s 2018! It’s not that hard to integrate the systems. This also is not the 1st time Allure has advertised their box containing a full size product and it’s not. It’s just simply a matter of getting their $#!+ together. That’s all I’m asking for the $16.48 I pay for Allure every month. They somehow are charging me my local tax not the state tax. They don’t have any offices here so that’s not 100% legal either. By either, I’m referring to the false advertisement of their boxes. Allure does not pay for these products. Companies give their products away for these boxes. Allure is making hella bank on these boxes. I don’t have any sympathy for a huge company. The only reason I still subscribe is for the products and sizes they do send out. I’m paid up for a few months but if they can’t get it together by then, I’m out.

I called them yesterday because I didn’t receive mine either It’s now the 28th the lady on the phone told me they have two separate shipments the first shipment comes a third week of the month and the second shipment comes at the end of the month she said by August 1 I should be receiving an email and told her August 1 this is supposed to be a July beauty box why am I not going to get it until the first week in August it’s so ridiculous

No the dropper should not be bent or moving…Mine arrived fine, I was actually impressed with the packaging. But i wasn’t impressed that it’s not the blue tansy that adds all the color..there was actually artificial colors added in it… 🙁 Bummer for such a high end brand. I seriously hope all the Sunday Riley Hype dies soon. Their ingredients always disappoint me…

I feel so bad for you. 😞 Do you have a neighbor or a friend who can maybe stop and get it out of the mail? Or perhaps you still have time to arrange for the post office to hold your mail? They will do that for people going on vacation.

Hold on to the base of the top, where it screws on to the rest of the bottle. Then grab the cap and turn it while pulling upwards and wiggle side to side. It’s a tight fit and a little tricky but it should come off.

Mine was too…I have emailed them to cancel, but no response. Guess I’m gonna have to call them. Allure is seriously a joke, i actually can’t wait to cancel.

I noticed exactly everything you mentioned. My tube was incredibly light, and when held to the light it looks like it’s only 10% full. I looked at the weight, and saw it said .16oz, which is the typical size of deluxe eye cream samples I’ve received which come in tubes 1/2 or 1/3 the size of the lip balm. So, I decided I most likely got what’s shown on the tube, but it still feels misleading calling it full size, putting it in a full-size tube, which a typical .5oz lip balm would be in), resulting in barely any product in there. Granted, it’s only a 2ml difference, but I am really curious how the full-size feels.

You’re SO right! All the way up and down! I got my box last week. I don’t even think there’s 5mls in that big empty tube! I have a travel size of Hanalei, 5mls and it’s 1/2 empty. They weigh the same! Had family in town & put that in my bag to take with me the day after of the reunion. I’ve had it for a week and if I want anymore out of it, I’ll have to cut it open. Not only is it another falsely advertised box, but what a waste of plastic packaging!

Funny thing about the Olay. I got it in a Target box. The jar is the same but the other packaging is completely different.

Totally true! I just checked mine and it says on the back “NOT FOR RESALE”. If it wasn’t a sample size why would it say that?
I like it and all that. It smells nice, but it doesn’t last very long. Kind of greasy feeling for my preference. Hoping for better results from the Leneige next month.

I have not used an Eyeko liner as I usually create my own liner from my eye color pigment and a primer or glitter glue. I do empathize with the irritating makeup removers especially for waterproof mascara. For the waterproof mascara, I tried the Too Faced Mascara Melt Off which dissolves the wateroof mascara. It was a sample in Ipsy or Glossy but I have since purchased more. I got it in a mini set with mascara after the Christmas holiday for half off at Sephora. I then use an oil cleanser to remove all my makeup. Out of the oil cleansers I have used, I have found the Caudalie Makeup Remover Oil to be the gentlest and it doesn’t irritate my eyes. I do the double cleanse so after I use a foam cleanser. But for my sensitive eyes those two products work great for me. Sorry that I don’t have eyeliner recommendations though I do like the Big Monseuir Waterproof Mascara by Lancome. I got a sample of it and no troubles so far. Liquid liners tend to bother my eyes more than anything; and I’m not particularly sensitive, so I can’t imagine how bad it would be for sensitive eyes. It seems like the liquid bleeds into my eyes and irritates them. Maybe try using your eyeshadow as a liner? Or trying a gel instead? I recently purchased the L’Oreal Infallible pro last long wear eyeliner (long name!) and those stay on pretty good. It’s a stick that you sharpen so maybe it won’t bother you? Good luck, this must be so frustrating for you! 😊

Waterproof mascaras are much worse for me, so you might want to avoid those. Keep trying samples until you find something that works for you

Thanks so much for the suggestions, Pink5 and Alleson! I don’t think I’ve tried the MUFE or any of the Clinique masacaras with the tube technology, but I’m definitely going to give them a shot! I’ve tried a couple L’Oreal (don’t remember which ones) but it’s been a while, so I’ll check them out, too!

Tanya, I have very sensitive eyes also. Th only mascara I’m able to use is The Clinique formulas with tube technology. My favorite is the Lash Power. It a long wear and sweat proof. It washes off with warm water, but doesn’t budge before then. No flaking or raccoon eyes. When you wash your face the mascara slides off your lashes like little tubes. Eye makeup remove isn’t required, which is good too because every one I ever used burned my eyes as well. It isn’t to expensive either. Hope this helps 🙂

In the drugstore lines, I’ve had good luck with L’Oreal.

I packed all that stuff and I never even took a shower during my hospital stay! Labor to delivery was 2 hours! I guess I was just looking forward to showering at home!

That’s exactly what I’m going to do with the shampoo and conditioner too! I have everything else except shampoo & conditioner. I bought new travel bottles to fill up with my own. Hopefully I won’t have to. Just depends on timing I guess. I’m giving the lip mask to my daughter. Definitely keeping the caudalie. Not sure who will want yet another black marker eyeliner or stick highlighter.
