Cosmoholic Liquid Lipstick with LED Light in Promiscuous Pink - Retail Value $24.99

I’ve tried liquid lipsticks from Cosmoholic before and really liked the formula but they didn’t have this nifty LED light on the inside of the lid for low-light applications. And, there’s a mirror on the side of the tube too. Pretty cool! I think this shade is Promiscuous Pink, an orangy-pink. It feels lovely on and keeps my lips feeling moisturized. This wears well but will transfer since it has a glossy finish. Bonus: it smells like marshmallows.

Nomad Cosmetics Havana Eyeshadow in Cohiba - Retail Value $12

The packaging on this eyeshadow is really nice. I love the little mirror and pattern pressed onto the shadow. I’m not as crazy about the shade. It’s kind of a golden-bronze that leans green when swatched. It is very pigmented and blends well but is a bit dusty.

Estate Cosmetics Dew Me Baked Highlighter in Lit, 3g - Retail Value $10

This is one of the 3 shades subscribers received in this cute highlighter. I’m glad to have gotten the golden one since it is most wearable for me. The texture is a little chalky but it blends fine. It looks really nice with some bronzer to amp up my cheekbones and works well on the inner corner of my eye to bring a little light.

Sorme Cosmetics Eyeliner in Charcoal, 1.8g - LIsted Value $18

I’m not such a fan of grey eyeliners so I already know I won’t love this, but, I have tried this eyeliner in black and thought it was ok. The finish is matte and like a kajal pencil. You can smudge it out for the first couple of seconds but it sets and mostly stays in place. This particular pencil keeps breaking on me after sharpening (you can see my swatch went wonky from the tip breaking off below).

Laritzy Cosmetics Lip Liner in Retro Red, 1g - Retail Value $18

A classic red lip is something I don’t wear often, mostly because I don’t buy reds. So now I have a nice, rich red pencil that applies smoothly and has a matte finish. I can easily fill in my lips with it without tugging or pilling.

Yes Oh Yas May 2018 - Swatches

Here are some swatches (left to right): eyeshadow, highlighter, eyeliner, lip liner, and liquid lipstick.

Yes Oh Yas May 2018 - Face

Yes Oh Yas May 2018 - Eyes

On my eyes, I’m wearing the Nomad eyeshadow swept across my lids, the Sorme eyeliner on top and bottom lids, and the highlighter tapped into the corners of my eye. I’m not crazy about the shades of the shadow and liner and I definitely don't like them together. Otherwise, their performance isn’t bad. I lined and filled my lips with the red lip liner and then layered the liquid lip color on top for a more subtle red lip. Actually, it toned the red down to almost a wash which is more of an everyday way to wear red for me.

Verdict: This is the first month in a while that Yes, Oh Yas! has sent out single items instead of kits or palettes. And, all of them are makeup. Each month seems to vary in what kind of product they send which I appreciate. This month’s Yes, Oh Yas! has a value of $82.99 which I think is good for a cost of $14.99 +$3.99 shipping. I like the lip products and the highlighter. The eyeliner and shadow aren’t the right shade for me but are still decent products so I’ll pass those along to a friend. It honestly looks like they are stepping it up a bit from some of the past months, which is why I’ve just been watching out for spoilers to see if it had an appeal to me.

I’m not keen on the fact that they charge shipping though, especially when their direct competitors don’t. Why not just say it’s an $19 sub?

Either way, I’m really interested in the Mellow Cosmetics palette that they are featuring for June, so I think I’m going to sub (considering the palette is $20 anyways, I’ll get some extra goodies at least!)

There was mention somewhere that there’s going to be another palette in July’s bag, I’m curious to see what brand it will be.

I got this bag as my first month and cancelled right after…I just don’t see it being worth almost $20 a month, even with seeing June’s spoilers (especially with Boxy being not much more!)..i notice they send a lot of the same brands, which is ok of course, but it just doesn’t attract me …I gave it a shot but it’s just not memorable to me, and I def don’t like how they were charging a fair price and then increased it twice! But it didn’t seem like they changed the value of products….but it’s not like I NEED another subscription lol
