The Bakery Box is a monthly subscription box from Shea Shea Bakery. Each month you will get bakery-inspired bath and body products. Each month is a different theme (with new scents!), and most often the items included in the box are not made available for sale outside the box.

The Bakery Box "Bakery's Best" June 2018 Review

Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 soap 1 Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 soap 2

Honeycomb Soap, 1 oz - Estimated Value $0.80 (buy a 5 oz. bar for $4)

This mini slice of honeycomb soap is absolutely precious, and I really liked the light honey scent combined with the moisture this soap provides while it cleans.

Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 strawberry

Strawberry Shortcake Body Butter, 2 oz - Retail Value $6

I am no stranger to body butters from Shea Shea Bakery, and if you are not careful you will be too greasy real quick. I really love their body butters on my elbows and knees, where my skin will get dry and soak up all the moisture I give it. This strawberry scent was decent, if not a tiny bit artificial to my nose. (To be fair, my nose is really strong. I have tortillas mailed to me from Arizona because I can’t handle the smell of preservatives in store-bought flour tortillas).

Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 sugar cookie 1 Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 sugar cookie 2

Sugar Cookie Body Scrub, 2 oz - Retail Value $6

Oh my gosh this smells so good! This smells like a cross between a fresh baked sugar cookie and cake batter, and I immediately felt the need to go to Cold Stone after smelling this. Not only does it smell great, but it has gorgeous rainbow sprinkles throughout and comes with a mini SUGAR COOKIE SOAP. Shea Shea Bakery creates some of the cutest bath products out there, there is no doubt. Oh, and it was a great scrub. It was a bit dry but once I started rubbing it into my skin I was getting an exfoliation without being rubbed raw.

Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 midnight

Midnight Snack Hair Oil, 2 oz - Retail Value $5

I am not positive what the scent description is for Midnight Snack, but the main note is definitely coffee. I don’t reach for coffee at midnight, but I definitely do in the mornings. I enjoyed using this for some extra moisture and shine in my curls when doing my hair in the morning.

Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 island

Island Getaway Body Lotion, 2 oz - Estimated $2.50 (buy a 5 oz. bottle for $5)

I love island-themed and tropical scents, so this lotion is right up my alley! This is a lighter formula compared to the body butter, so I don’t have to worry about my skin getting greasy while I use it.

Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 cotton candy

Cotton Candy Body Mist, 2 oz - Estimated Value $5

Cotton Candy is my jam, and while I don’t feel like it is the most work-appropriate scent it is definitely a weekend and vacation scent that I am all about. This smells just like the childhood favorite, and I will be reaching for this before I go to the pool!

Shea Shea Bakery June 2018 pineapple

Pineapple Melon Hand Sanitizer, 2 oz

I can’t find hand sanitizer anywhere on the Shea Shea Bakery website, so I have no idea how to value this. I do like the pineapple-melon scent, as it gives me tropical vibes. I wouldn’t necessarily want my hands to smell like pineapple-melon right before I eat, but this is great for when you feel like you’ve touched something extra germ-y and can’t go wash your hands.

The Verdict: This month’s theme was Bakery’s Best, and I thought it was a real treat to get to try scents and products that have been best sellers for the company, while still getting that exclusivity you expect from the monthly box (for example, you can get the midnight snack scent in other products but not in the hair oil).  Not including the hand sanitizer, I calculated a value of $25.30, which is just over the cost of the box plus shipping.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up today your first box will be the July box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $24.55 and I calculated a value of $25.30 (not including the hand sanitizer). That means you are paying approximately $3.50 per item!

The Bakery Box is a " purchase full of limited edition bakery-inspired box. Each month is a different theme and scent...Most often, Bakery Box items are not sold separately so get them while you can. Once a box is sold out, it is gone for good."

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I couldn’t help myself…I subbed earlier, but was browsing their site and ordered more! Hint…if you don’t care about those cute little sweet toppers, you can get products with plain caps a lot cheaper. I can believe their prices, amazing. The reviews were awesome, too.

I broke….I subbed to this. I am a sucker for stuff like this. I like the fact that if I fall in love with a certain product or scent, I can order more at a great price. I like that they include multiple scents and products.
I stopped my Monthly Mystery Box, so this will take the place.

I find this box interesting in the respect that the value is not much over the cost of the box, yet everyone that posted is ok with that 👍🏼 That shows that if it’s quality items that will get used that’s the real value. Look how many boxes are featured that are worth so much over the cost of the box but people will be disappointed because only one item might be personally worth getting to them. The box value really is relative to the person that is buying it ! If more people saw it this way happiness would spread over the sub box world. Kinda puts things in perspective.

You make a good point. I think one of the factors here too is that the products at this shop are priced fairly so when the “value” is a little over the cost of the box, you don’t feel like you’re getting a bad deal. You’d be hard pressed to go on etsy or even fcs and get that selection for $25 shipped.

Subscribed! I have been paying $25 for a monthly bath bomb box, but this looks way better for the price.
