Let's see what we got!

Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Lemon with pump Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Lemon back of Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Lemon

Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Purifying Lemon, 8 oz. - Retail Value $42.00

The first thing I noticed was that they packaged this (and the other) bottle really well and included the pump separately so things didn't get too messy. It looks like the pumps normally have a bamboo piece, but I don't think it adds all that much to the value so I don't see it as a huge deal that this one is solid plastic. The lemon scent is intoxicating and reminds me of a huge refreshing glass of lemonade in the summer. This full-size bottle of coconut oil is a blend "infused with lemon peel oil and raspberry seed oil, as well as burdock and sage to purify oily skin." My face does tend to get oily, especially in the summer so I should be reaching for this one more often in the coming months. There are quite a few uses for this which I always enjoy seeing because it makes it that much more useful.

Here's a list:

  • MAKEUP REMOVER (gently tissue off, repeat)
  • CLEANSER (gently wipe with warm cloth)
  • SHAVING (apply and shave)
  • MOISTURIZER (all over, anytime or after cleansing)
  • HAIR (wet hair, tame frizz)
  • MIX (for extra hydration add to any other product; foundation/lotion)
  • DIY SCRUB (mix with sugar or salt)
  • CUSTOMIZE (blend any 5 coco oils together)

I personally don't enjoy using oils as a makeup remover/cleanser so I skipped that one and was most excited about using it as a shave oil. The only bummer is that the same thing happened as when I tried to use straight up coconut oil. It got so slick in my tub that I thought I'd crack my head open if I made any sudden moves. I'll probably end up using this as a frizz tamer since the humidity has been off the charts, but since my hair is so thin, I will be using the most minimal amount. I'm also interested in the prospect of mixing this with sugar or salt for a little DIY scrub action. This scent is just too yummy to not use.

Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Jasmine Ylang Ylang with pump Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Jasmine Ylang Ylang back of Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Jasmine Ylang Ylang

Organic to Green Coconut Oil in Moisturizing Jasmine Ylang Ylang, 8 oz. - Retail Value $42.00

Whoa- another full-size bottle of coconut oil but this time in another lovely scent, Jasmine and Ylang Ylang. It has a more floral scent than the lemon and contains Icelandic moss, watermelon fruit extract, and green tea which all helo hydration and boost antioxidants. That makes me think that this particular one should be saved for the winter when my skin is so much more THIRSTY. Otherwise, it has the same uses as the lemon-scented oil but is better suited for hydrating that dry skin as opposed to oily. This will end up being used after cleansing and before adding my moisturizer come November and I can even be mixed it with it. Awesome!

Organic to Green RAINFOREST ORGANIC COCONUT OIL SUGAR SCRUB back of Organic to Green RAINFOREST ORGANIC COCONUT OIL SUGAR SCRUB Organic to Green RAINFOREST ORGANIC COCONUT OIL SUGAR SCRUB with lid off

Organic to Green Rainforest Organic Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub, 4 oz. - Retail Value $20.00

This is definitely my favorite product of the month. Scrubs are an awesome way to shed dry skin and make your body ultra soft in the shower. This particular scrub is fantastic because it has a nice size grit and isn't too dry so it stays together long enough to slather on my body when I scoop it out of the container. The only two ingredients here are sucrose sugar (which does all of the buffing without being too harsh) and coconut oil ( which will pack in moisturize and leave your skin feeling replenished and soft). It's gentle enough to use on your face but I'll probably stick to using it as a body scrub. It smells super sweet while applying but fades only leaving a pleasant scent.

Organic to Green Arctic Shea Vanilla for Skin and Lip Balm back of Organic to Green Arctic Shea Vanilla for Skin and Lip Balm Organic to Green Arctic Shea Vanilla for Skin and Lip Balm with lid off

Organic to Green Arctic Shea Vanilla for Skin and Lip Moisturizer Balm, 1 oz. - Retail Value $16.00

This balm is a solid similar to when coconut oil is cool or at room temp. It does contain coconut oil along with shea butter, sunflower seed wax, and beeswax. I personally think it's a bit on the greasy side and takes quite a while for it to soak into my hands, so I'd only reach for this one in the dry middle of winter when my skin needs all the help it can get. In the meantime, it does make a good lip balm but the container makes for slightly awkward application with my long nails. Drat! It smells pleasant but is quite subtle and I can pick up on the sunflower seed. This 1-ounce portion is sure to last quite some time.

Verdict: Another outrageously good value from Pearlesque Box this month! I received four full-size natural and organic products for under $40 that have a retail value of $120! All of the items are super useful and I can switch using different ones at different times of the year.

I am loving this box and find the oil so useful. I always take off my eye makeup with coconut oil so it’s nice to use the liquid version in a pump (instead of the solid in a tub), I also love mixing an oil in with a body butter. I haven’t tried the scrub yet, but the balm is great for lips.

pearlesque sent me two lemon oils and no jasmine. ☹️ i’ve contacted CS, hopefully they’ll let me exchange because i wanted to try both!

Jenny, I have the jasmine up for swap and love the lemon. I’d be glad to swap my jasmine for your lemon. I emailed them last week that my pump didn’t work and haven’t heard back so they don’t seem to be replying to emails quickly.

The lemon oil smells amazing and I love the lip balm. Just bummed the pump on my lemon oil doesn’t work

I loved this month’s box — what an incredibly great value! I ended up swapping the lemon oil, because I just prefer the jasmine kind, and that by itself will take me quite a while to get through. I will probably use it for makeup removal/dual-cleansing and occasionally as a body oil. A good body scrub is always handy. And I just *adored* that balm for my lips. It’s true that it’s a large tub, but I use a thick layer of lip balm every night before bed (which has worked miracles for my extremely dry lips), so that’s where this will go in my routine. The scent of it is just heavenly.

I got this box but now I think it would benefit more in winter months. Do the oils go bad within 6 months if opened? I am dying to smell them but think I should wait. Any ideas?

I think the shelf life for coconut oil is two years. You can always store your oils in the fridge to prolong their lifespan. It will solidify when cold, but will return to liquid at room temp.

Most oils keep for a very long time. If you are concerned, I would suggest storing this product in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.

I’m no expert, but I’m sure it’ll be fine if you open them just to smell them. They’ve already been exposed to air during packaging, plus the containers aren’t airtight either. I say go for it! 😀
