Mother Snacker June 2018 Review
This month my box arrived in a bag wrapped in bubble wrap. This was probably to protect one of the great items I received, as you’ll see, but the best part of it being in a bag was the way the smell of coffee hit me the second I opened it. I knew I was in for a treat!
This little note from the founder talks about how it’s important to take care of yourself first so that you are better able to take care of others. This month’s box is meant to help you “fill your cup and take a moment to yourself.” This is so hard to do as a mother sometimes, but I know that after I take that moment, whether it’s getting my haircut or even just an extra long hot shower with no one screaming for me in the middle of it, I always feel so much better afterward.
I love these honeycomb pictures that give you a sneak peek into your box. On the back it has a list of the contents including an enjoy by date. It’s so nice that they give a little description of each treat or tell why they chose it for the box.
Black Bow Sweets Candied Pecans, 2.4 oz - Estimated Value $6.40 (buy a 3 oz. box for $8.00)
The first item on our card was these candied California pecans by Black Bow Sweets. They are made from five all natural ingredients inspired by a family recipe and man are they delicious! I gave one to my husband to try while he was on the phone and I could tell from his ferocious nodding that these were a winner. These have just the right amount of coating on them with a sweet taste up front finishing with a mix of cinnamon and sea salt that makes you want more. And more. The pecans are excellent too - large pieces that taste incredibly fresh. I also love the little canister they came in because they will stay fresh. That is if you are someone who can resist eating the entire thing in one sitting!
Grey Ghost Bakery Chocolate Espresso Cookies, 4 oz. - Retail Value $4.99
These cookies were chocolatey and chewy with just a hint of espresso inside. The outside has a bit of a crunch with big sugar crystals and the inside is soft and delicious. There were six cookies in this little pack and while I could definitely have eaten more, I think it was just enough for a sweet treat to savor throughout the week.
Foodstirs Molten Chocolate Chip Mug Cake - Retail Value $5.99
What I love most about this item is that there are 4 pouches inside so this means I will have a secret stash of chocolate cake when I need it! The directions for this were incredibly easy; just add 2 tablespoons of water and heat in the microwave. It was chocolatey and gooey and tasted great with a scoop of ice cream on top. This cake mix is completely organic which is nice and it’s definitely on par with other mug cake mixes I’ve tried.

Denik Marble X Lay Flat Notebook - Retail Value $9.99
I can always use a new notebook since I always seem to lose mine, or they end up in the hands of my children and get doodled all over. This one is a great size to fit in my purse and the design is really sophisticated and pretty. It is made with a special glue that is supposed to help the binding last longer and allows it to lay flat. Plus buying these notebooks helps support both the artist and Denik’s mission of funding the building of schools!
Declan + Crew Constantly Caffeinated Mug - Retail Value $19.00
My favorite mug just got a chip in it so I was super excited to see this in my box. This mug is beautiful! The marbled design is so unique and pretty to look at from every angle. The phrasing is cute too and in a beautiful script, but it’s very subtle, which I like! It also holds 16 oz so I can double up on the caffeine for the day. Plus this is from another mommy owned business!
Mama Java #Momlife Light Roast Coffee - 2, 2 oz bags - Estimated Value $4.33 (buy a 12 oz. bag for $12.99)
To go with our adorable mug, we received these two packs of coffee. Each bag is 2 oz and the branding is great! #Momlife is a great name for a coffee- although this is a light roast and I could probably use a bolder roast to help cope with my own mom life! It says it’s a full-bodied roast, but I felt it was a little weak for my taste, but coffee is coffee and will never get wasted in my house! This was a great addition to the box and it was fun to see another brand that’s made specifically for moms.
Torani Mini Classic Hazelnut Syrup, 1.69 oz - Buy full size 375 ml bottle for $5.99
I’m going to count this as a bonus item since I can’t find this miniature size online and it wasn’t actually listed on the contents card and the value would be very low anyway! I don’t usually take sugar in my coffee, but this was fun to add for a special treat. I added a little whipped cream on top and it was a decadent coffee treat to get me through the afternoon slump.
Verdict: I was really looking forward to this box this month and it did not disappoint! I feel like a lot of mom boxes send tea, but I am a coffee lover and can’t make it through the day without my daily dose, so this was ideal for me. I loved the theme and that we received a mug that we can use with our coffee or mug cake mix! This box costs $49 with free shipping and I’m estimating the value at $50.70. This was a thoughtfully curated box and I enjoyed everything I received so the value was definitely there for me! Plus I like the focus on moms supporting moms and the fact that they try to source from women-owned businesses and also donate to charity.
