Mommy Mailbox June 2018 Review

Each box comes with a card detailing the month’s products and brands. The theme this month is “Unwind” and the box was curated by featured blogger, Lindsey Willson.

HomArt Candle Holder - Estimated Value $5.00

The first item in the box this month was this votive candle holder. The outside is a matte white while the inside is a nice, shiny gold. I recently redid my bathroom with gold accents so this will go perfectly on my shelf! While it came with this little yellow candle (which smells a little like lemon to me, but I really think is unscented), I think I might use it to store jewelry and other accessories in instead.

HomArt Decorative Geode Matches- Estimated Value $4.00

To go along with our candle we received this pretty pack of decorative matches. These are great to have on hand and this packaging is so pretty. I also love the blue color of the matches!

Henlie Agate Stone Necklace

Henlie Agate Stone Necklace - Retail Value $38

This necklace is plated in 14k gold and features a rather large agate stone. This is a little bit larger than the necklaces I like to wear, but it’s pretty and very unique. It is on the shorter side at 18 inches. This definitely isn’t my usual style, but it’s a fun occasional piece!

Laritzy Makeup Blender - Retail Value $14.00

I have a silicone makeup blender already and while I only use it to apply my under eye concealer, I like that it doesn’t waste any of the product. Instead of the way a sponge always retains a little bit of your makeup, this applicator ensures that it only ends up on your face. It also washes clean very easily with just some soap and water.

Derma E Therapeutic Scar Gel 0.05 oz.-

Derma E Therapeutic Scar Gel 0.05 oz. - Estimated Value $4.99 (Full size is 2 oz for $19.95)

This gel has a pretty strong scent and is very light. It reminds me of the aloe vera gel you use on sunburn. In fact, in addition to scars, they recommend that it be used on sunburns, so it might be fairly similar. I was happy to see that it can be used on stretch marks since I am about 2 months postpartum and could use some help in that area. Fingers crossed that it works!

Hammond’s Candies Lemon Drops, 4 oz - Retail Value $9.95

What Mommy Mailbox would be complete without a sweet treat? This month we received this bag of lemon drops. They are not too tart at all, but instead are sweet and taste just like old fashioned hard candies. They are delicious and even better, they are all natural. The bag had a decent amount inside too, so these will last me quite awhile!

Verdict: This month’s Mommy Mailbox theme of Unwind is fitting for any mama! The votive and matches were a great way to encourage that, however, I’m not sure how well everything else fit the theme. While not everything fit the theme perfectly, I think it was still a good mix of items. Home items, jewelry, makeup items and a sweet treat are all things that I can appreciate! The total retail value of the box this month came to $75.94 and I think that’s a great value for a box that costs $33.95!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

The July box for me was disappointing. Eyelashes, primer, sunglasses (that only fit my child), bbq spice tin, and notepad

The card said it was a citronella candle to use outside to keep bugs away! 🙂 Loved this box! The necklace I got is absolutely stunning. I switched it out for a longer chain but I haven’t taken it off since I got it! Great job MM!
