Meowbox June 2018 Review

Meowbox has a lot of exclusive toys that are usually pretty popular with my cats. From my perspective, it’s nice to see some things that don’t turn up in other cat subscription boxes:

The information card typically just gives a URL for finding out more information about the items in the box. The picture is adorable, as usual. This month had a travel theme.

Catnip Globe

Catnip Globe – Retail Value $4.99

This is a handmade felt catnip toy from Doggie Styles and Kitty Too. I don’t know what it is about this toy, but Monkey went nuts for it on the day I took photos and Sneaky did the next day. This was a winner.

Pawsport

Pawsport – Retail Value $4.99

This is a catnip toy with crinkle stuff inside. It has a canvas outside texture that Monkey was very interested in. This is small and suitable for tossing.

Well Traveled Suitcase – Retail Value $4.99

This is another catnip toy with a similar canvas texture to the passport toy. Sneaky rolls around on it while she is waiting for me to feed her (there is a long wait; we have to give Mr. Kitty three pills and a liquid medication and three eye drops, plus we do a bit of wiping him down since he has stopped grooming himself, and that takes a while).

Yappetizers Dehydrated Wild Sardines

Yappetizers Dehydrated Wild Sardines – Retail Value $5

Although these are healthful, single-ingredient treats, my cats won’t eat them. (My cats have never eaten dehydrated whole fish, though I *do* offer it every time I receive it in a subscription box.) They liked the smell but were disappointed in the contents of the bag.

World Traveler Airplane Wand – Retail Value $8.99

The toys in this box were all appreciated by my crew, but I think this was the winner. You can see a few cats playing with it below.

Gratuitous cat photos:

Angus sniffs the sardines.

Angus hoards toys under the table.

Madison liked the wand toy.

Monkey rubbed his chin on this a lot.

But the globe toy got him super excited.

Sneaky would not eat the sardines.

But she did like smelling them.

Sneaky was in a playful mood. She really liked the wand toy.

And here is the part of the review where I pose Mr. Kitty with toys.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $28.96 for the June Meowbox. That is a fair amount over the cost of the subscription for a cat subscription box. The toys were especially popular with my crew this month although the treats weren’t as well-received.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? From MeowBox:

We will send you a box full of goodies for your cat on the next business day, and then the 15th of every month after that.

My three cats loved this box. They “opened” it themselves when I put it down on the floor. I love how the box had a personal greeting just for them. They did not love the sardines, which surprised me – all three sniffed them but didn’t eat them. The felt catnip globe is their favorite! They have rubbed their faces on it so much that it is all fuzzy and the cat continent is hardly recognizable.

I gotta tell you, I share the pictures of your kitties with my kitty Griffin, since he’s always so nosy when I’m on the computer. I’ll scroll through & name your kitties, as if I’m reading him a bedtime story and he just mews and stares at the pictures. It’s kinda funny.

I have been looking for a new subscription box for my two cats. This looks like a winner.

I love the pictures with your cats. Mine are the same in that they will not eat the hydrated fish. They love the smell but turn their noses up at the flakes themselves.

No, I just take it off for the pictures. He still tries to rub his eye all the time.
