Lavish Bath Box May 2018 "Backyard Luau" Review

Here is the info sheet that includes the name of the products, the shop that they are from, and any available coupon code. I love having easy access to the shop websites and coupons for future purchases!

The Ticklish Giraffe Lovely Pear in Coconut Bath Bomb

The Ticklish Giraffe Lovely Pear in Coconut Bath Bomb – Estimated Value $6

I couldn’t find any bath bombs actually available for sale from The Ticklish Giraffe, so I had to estimate based on what the Facebook prices were (even though you couldn’t buy them). That confusion aside, how epic is this bath bomb? It is in a real coconut shell, and the drink umbrella is such a sweet touch! This made my water a gorgeous purple color thanks to the swirls of blue and pink. This was a real treat.

Feeling Smitten Mai Tai Epsom Salt Soak, 12 oz

Feeling Smitten Mai Tai Epsom Salt Soak, 12 oz – Retail Value $10

I am really glad this isn’t a box exclusive item, because I absolutely loved this salt soak and will be buying more in the future! The tropical Mai Tai scent is luscious and it smells so fresh and juicy. The blend of dead sea salt and Epsom salt was relaxing and soothing, I am happy that this is big enough to get several nice baths out of.

Shabby Hijabi Flamingo Bubble Bar – Estimated Value $7.50 (based on other bubble bars here)

This bubble bar is just darling! My flamingo arrived broken, however I am not fussed about it because I always divide bubble bars in half to stretch them out into multiple baths. As a bonus, since this was so delicate it was easy to crumble into my bath water. Half of this flamingo made a nice pillow of bubbles with light pink bath water.  The scent could have been stronger for my personal taste, however, the pineapple and guava scent was delicious.

Mama Bass Soap Margarita Salt Scrub, 5.5 oz

Mama Bass Soap Margarita Salt Scrub, 5.5 oz – Estimated Value $10

The Mama Bass shop is currently taking a break, so I couldn’t get a feel for how the company prices their items. That being said, this salt scrub is absolutely amazing. It smells just like a salted margarita, to the point that when I opened this scrub for the first time it made my mouth water. This provides awesome exfoliation without drying out my skin, and it leaves my skin smelling just like a margarita. I get to try out a lot of body scrubs reviewing bath and body products, but this is the one I keep reaching for.

Bathology Shoppe Pineapple Princess Bath Bomb, 5.5 oz – Retail Value $5

This bath bomb is a prime example of small brands undervaluing their products (in my opinion, at least). This large bath bomb is hand painted into a true work of art, and it has a heavenly sweet pineapple scent. If I were to go to a well-known bath product store and saw this bath bomb, I would probably expect to pay around $8 for it and I would think it’s worth it.

Kathys Yarn Creations Hibiscus Crocheted Face/Body Cloth – Retail Value $3.50

This lovely 100% cotton face cloth is in the shape of a flower, and I think that it is the perfect finishing touch to this tropical themed box. This is soft and was perfect for removing face masks at the end of a bath.

The Verdict: I love tropical scents, so this box really felt like it was made just for me! I genuinely love each product included, and picking one favorite is too difficult to do. Lavish Bath Box really knocked it out of the park with their May theme and the products included. This will be a tough box to top come June, but I think Lavish is up to the task. As I continue to receive boxes from Lavish, I really appreciate the artisan products from small brands that are chosen to be included. Because of that, however, the value of this box will never be much higher than the cost of the box itself. I calculated a value of $42, but take that with a  grain of salt as I had to give some items my best guess on what they’re worth.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
