Baby by Kidbox Summer 2018 Review

info note

Each box comes with a price sheet listing each item of clothing, the retail price, and the price Kidbox will charge to keep that item (which is less than retail).

There was a welcome booklet personalized with my son’s name and simple directions for returning unwanted items or exchanging for alternate sizes. There’s also a plastic mailer and pre-addressed sticker to easily return anything you’re not keeping. They mailed an inflatable Kidbox ball as well.

outfit 1

Chickpea Boys 2PC Tee & Shorts "Sup Ladies" – Retail Price $24 (Kidbox Price $18)

I was really excited when I saw this outfit with the black and white and the shirt's pattern - but then I saw the words. I don't usually dress my children in shirts that have phrases, but I, personally, especially do not allow sayings that are related to flirting/dating/etc on my small children. This outfit itself is really cute, but the phrase printed on the shirt means this has to go back.

outfit 2

Miniville Boys Monster Onesie – Retail Price $28 (Kidbox Price $21)

This is adorable! I love the little "monster" details on the side.  Jace got some pants with the same detail from his Target Cat & Jack Spring box recently, too. I think little rompers like this are so cute.

Miniville Boys Tee and Jogger Set – Retail Price $28 (Kidbox Price $21)

This outfit is cute, but it runs large! They're 12-month, and Jace is just 8 months but he's in a lot of 12-month clothing. By the time he fits the waistband of these joggers, they'll be too short. I love the tee, though! It also runs big but should fit him fine in a couple months.

outfit 4

outfit 4 on baby

Art + Eden Boys "Dorian" Tiger 2 piece Set – Retail Price $30 (Kidbox Price $23)

I love this little outfit, too. The tan and taupe colors aren't ones I'd pick out or put together but I actually think they look super cute. The pants fit perfectly, which is my favorite part. The fabric is really soft, too!

washcloth set

washcloths

Aden by Aden + Anais Washcloth set 3 pack - Retail Price $12 (Kidbox Price $10)

I was surprised to see a non-clothing item in this box for purchase. Previously, I had only seen non-clothing items as a bonus gift that's free even if you send everything back. That being said, I actually do love these washcloths for my son. They are sooo soft, and they're larger than normal bath washcloths! I didn't think I'd want to keep these, but once I felt them I realized I really liked them, and I don't already have any "baby washcloths" so I kept them.

free gift stroller hooks

Nuby Deluxe Stroller Hooks - Retail Value $3.99 (Kidbox Free Gift - you keep it no charge even if you send back the whole box!)

I think these stroller hooks are a smart design! They're very handy and keep my valuable basket space clear when using my stroller. I don't actually use my stroller much these days, but this is going straight into the pocket of it to use next time we're out!

Verdict: I really liked almost everything in this month's Kidbox for my 8-month-old. I will say, though, that I was surprised at the very neutral/monochromatic color scheme they picked for me when I told them my son wears mostly bright colors in his style profile. It ended up being okay, though, because I like the items and he doesn't have anything like them already. Also, If you keep the entire box, you can also select a cause and Kidbox will make a donation to a kid in need such as a military family or foster child. I appreciate that Kidbox gives back.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your box will be personally curated for you based on your child's age, style preferences, sizing, and Kidbox's current/featured stock!

Coupon - Now through 7/31, save $20 off your first Kidbox! Just use code SUMMERTREAT.

Value Breakdown: The retail price of all my items add up to $122.99 but the Kidbox price is technically $93, but with the discount from keeping a full box my total is $68! That's about $13.60 per item.

I’ve had five boxes from kidbox now, but for my currently three year old daughter. I have no experience with the baby box they offer, but I’ve been pretty happy with the boxes they sent out. There was perhaps only one time I knew we wouldn’t use, but it was cheaper to keep the entire box than to send that back and pay for everything else. When you check out online, you give feedback on what you think of each piece, which is good. I’ve enjoyed it so far.

Also, another person was asking this. Your seven days to decide start when the box arrives. Not when it has shipped.

Your son is adorable! I agree with you on that first shirt: terrible saying.

So say I get a box and don’t like anything and send it all back am I understanding correctly that you are charged nothing? So I order a box and get charged the $98 and whatever I send back gets refunded?

Angie

You don’t pay anything to get the box sent to you. You have to have a credit card on file to order. Then you send back or keep. They charge you after 7 days.

Ohh I get …sort of. Seven days from shipment or actual delivery? So many questions. I’m sorry!

It seems like so many baby subscriptions are being reviewed! I would appreciate a review of this box in an older child…maybe 5-6 years old so that I can get a better idea of the clothing/items that will be included. Please and thank you.

Yes! My daughter is turning five and I’m super curious to see what they send out for that age group

I don’t think they have a lot of selection, honestly. I ordered a baby box for my grandson (also Jace). When my daughter received it she immediately ordered her own box. She asked for a different genre (sporty, preppy, etc) and got some of the same outfits.

I was upset because my box included a very cheap looking blanket that didn’t fit the theme at all that we had to keep to get the full box discount. She’s had three or four other boxes and they always include blankets and wash clothes. I feel like it’s taking away a lot of the value from a clothing box. Even a hooded bath towel would have been more appreciated.

She also now has four sets of those free gift stroller hooks, lol.

It’s nice to have an option for boys clothes but I felt the prices were very inflated. They sent brands at full price that you never see at full price anywhere, kwim?
