Cat & Chloe VIP July 2018 Review

This month featured a necklace, bracelet, and earrings. It’s noteworthy that each of the pieces come in a little branded box – making each piece giftable if you have a special friend, occasion, or receive a piece you just don’t love!

The first thing you see when you open the box is this branded info card, detailing the items found inside of the box.

Next, you’ll find an info card explaining this month’s theme - #JulyCelebration – along with some details about your seasonal bonus gift!

BONUS! American Flag Backpack

"July is for friends, family, adventure, and Patriotism"

I really like these types of drawstring backpacks and can always find a use for them. I love the American Flag print, and I know this will be the perfect accessory for me to tote around to my 4th of July activities! It measures 10” wide and 14” deep – making it the perfect size to toss a change of clothes and some snacks in for my toddler when we hit the park this summer. The drawstring cords are about 22” when the bag is cinched.

This bag would be too small to include a towel in, and the material is thin and somewhat sheer. It’s made from 100% cotton and machine washable – I actually like that it’s thin for the summer, it means it’ll dry quickly if it gets wet!

Piper “Loving” 18K Rose Gold Plated Heart Bracelet

Rose gold is very trendy right now, and I love laying bracelets for a stacked look with a solid colored T-shirt and jeans, for a fun summer outfit. This bracelet will add texture to that stack, with its chunky chain, toggle clasp, and heart charm!

End to end, this bracelet is about 8” long and not adjustable – so it’s a little too loose on my 6.5” wrist. It’s wearable and won’t slide off, but I’d prefer it to be about 0.5” shorter.

Luna “Tempus” 18K Rose Gold Plated CZ Clock Necklace

So, I didn’t know that I needed a roman numeral clock necklace until I saw this one! But, isn’t that the beauty of subscription boxes? The 1/2” rose gold set clock style pendant is set on a 16” rose gold chain, featuring a lobster clasp and 2” extender.

The pendant features Roman numerals (I-XII) clock style around the outer parameter of the circle with a black enamel stripe outlining a rose-gold set CZ crystal.

You can even wear this necklace backward displaying the solid rose gold circle side – capitalizing on the geometric, modern shape style that's everywhere right now!

I think that this simple, classy necklace is “timeless”!

Riley “Dainty” 18K Gold Plated Huggie Hoop Earrings

Riley “Dainty” 18K Gold Plated Huggie Hoop Earrings

(Possible variant in metal – comes in white, gold, and rose gold options)

I received the white gold version of these earrings, which kind of bummed me out since everything else in my shipment was rose gold and would have made for an adorable set!

The front of each hinged earring features a vertical divot to add texture, and a small crystal to add sparkle! None the less, these are adorable everyday earrings measuring about 1/2" in diameter. You could also wear them backward as a small solid white-gold hoop!

Here they are on, for scale.

And here’s the necklace paired with them.

Verdict: This was my first Cate & Chloe experience and I was happy with the selection and wearability of the pieces! It’s also fun that a seasonal bonus is included – and I know I'll use this fun little flag bag this summer. I wish the earrings that I got were rose gold to match the rest of the items, maybe yours will be! I think my favorite piece this month is the necklace. I like that I got essentially 5 looks (since both the necklace and earrings can be worn backward) in this box!

I think that the retail prices on the website are a bit inflated, but that said the least expensive necklaces and bracelets from this brand retail at around $50, and earrings at $40. So, using the minimum pricing on the website the retail value of these pieces would be at least $140 – not bad for a $40 box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, order by 7/4 to receive this box! From Cate & Chloe:

Any order placed from the 1st to the 4th day of the month, will be shipped that month.  All orders placed from the 5th to 31st of a given month will be shipped out on the first of the following month.

Value Breakdown: At $39.99 for this box, I received three pieces of jewelry – so the cost per item is $13.33. I think this is a great value and any one of these pieces would retail for more than that amount.

Any chance that anyone will review the C&C boxes from April, May, or June?

Hi Teresa,

I’m sorry – we’re just starting this review up again. This was the first box that we’ve received in a while – so no, I don’t think those last few boxes will be reviewed. We do plan to review this one going forward though!

I love the necklace. From the first picture the length looked too long. I’m glad you modelled it. Very dainty and pretty. Too bad about the earrings

Nancy

I love that necklace.
It is too bad that the bracelet doesn’t have a lobster claw class, because then you could shorten it by securing it in one of the chain links.

Nice review. Very comprehensive. I agree that the value seems a little inflated but the jewelry looks great.
