Your Bijoux Box May 2018 Review
Here’s a product list for the month. The theme is “Hello, Love” and is perfect for Mother’s Day! This month features pieces by House of Harlow.
Native Legends Collar - Listed Value $98
This month, subscribers received one of three House of Harlow necklaces. Most subscribers will receive this Native Legends Collar made of gold dipped metal and turquoise and lapis lazuli stones. Tangent: ever since I took an Art Theory course at my university, I’ve loved lapis lazuli (we talked about Egypt...a lot). This collar is a lovely balance of dainty and statement with its tiny gold beads and pops of color. I appreciate the details like the finished back and branded charm on the extender. Here I have it at the shortest setting paired with the earrings below.
Back and Forth Earrings
A dainty and glitzy pair of earrings is included for each subscriber. The gold-tone coordinates well with the other jewelry in the box and I like the tiny sparkle details. You can see that the hoop pieces are actually jackets. They can be worn three different ways: as hoops when turned to the front, ear huggers when turned to the back, or just simple studs by leaving the hoop off. Here I’m wearing them as hoops. You can see them worn as ear huggers above (paired with the collar).
Sparkle-On Lariat
Every subscriber will also receive this lariat necklace. The long, smooth chain is threaded through a slider bead which allows you to adjust the length of the neck opening. Small disk beads filled with champagne-colored druzy dangle from the ends. Both the chain and the druzy sparkle in the light. This is a great necklace to dress up any outfit and I think it would look lovely layered with other necklaces paired with a jacket, or by itself over a simple black dress.
Bonus Item: Golden Tote by Lili and Delilah, Hello Love
What a cute bonus item! I don’t use disposable bags anymore and love cute reusable shopping bags. Who doesn’t want to be the envy of the checkout lane?! This super shiny, metallic gold tote is versatile and sturdy. It has a vinyl-like exterior and canvas lined interior. Subscribers either received the “Hello” version or the “XO” version.
The Verdict: The jewelry this month includes a great selection of pieces. I like that the metal tones coordinate and that the earrings and lariat have some versatility in how you wear them. I think the quality of all of the items is really nice, especially if you consider that you basically pay just $13 per piece (not including the bonus tote). This would be a perfect gift! The box is beautifully packaged and ready to gift.
